تور
Attested forms : تَارَةً 2
Core meaning
One time, in a series of times: the return of the same movement.
Uses
تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ → "another time" : always with أُخْرَىٰ, to say that a movement happens again.
Evidence from the text
Both occurrences join the word to the verb of return, أَعَادَ. Those whom God saved from the sea may be brought back into it "another time" (17:67-69); the human being, created from the earth, is returned to it, and God will bring him out of it "yet another time" (20:55). The word does not count: it says that the same movement happens again.
Distinctions
- مرر — "time": the time one counts (once, twice), whereas تَارَة names the renewal of a movement
