The flowering garden: a ground covered with grass and flowers, setting of joy.

Uses

1. رَوْضَة, رَوْضَات → "flowering meadow", "flowering meadows" : the flowering part of the promised abode.

   • «فَهُمْ فِى رَوْضَةٍۢ يُحْبَرُونَ» — "they will be overjoyed in a flowering meadow" (30:15)
   • «فِى رَوْضَاتِ ٱلْجَنَّاتِ» — "will be in the flowering meadows of the Gardens" (42:22)

Evidence from the text

Both uses are promised to those who believed and did sound deeds. In 30:15, the word carries joy: one is overjoyed there; in 42:22, they are the flowering meadows within the Gardens. The word does not name the Garden itself, but its flowering part.

• جنن — the Garden: the enclosure covered with greenery, of which the رَوْضَة is the flowering part
