فره
Attested forms : ٰرِهِينَ 1
Core meaning
Expert skill: the mastery of those who carve houses in the rock, and the assurance it gives them.
Uses
فَٰرِهِين → "skilled and expert" : the accomplished art of a difficult work.
- «وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَٰرِهِينَ» — "while you carve houses out of the mountains, skilled and expert" (26:149)
Evidence from the text
The only use is in the question addressed to the people of Thamud: will they be left secure amid gardens, springs and palms, while they carve their houses out of the mountains with accomplished art (26:146-149)? Skill is part of what reassures, and the question sets it before its limit. The reading of Warsh has فَرِهِين, of the same root.
