كلو
Attested forms : كِلْتَا 1
Core meaning
The dual of totality: "each of the two", said of a pair taken whole.
Uses
كِلْتَا → "each of the two" : feminine dual, agreeing with "the two gardens".
- «كِلْتَا ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ ءَاتَتْ أُكُلَهَا» — "Each of the two gardens gave its fare" (18:33)
Evidence from the text
The sole occurrence, 18:33, takes up the two gardens given to one of the two men (18:32): each of the two gave its fare, failing in nothing. كِلْتَا, feminine, agrees with ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ and embraces the pair without exception; it is this whole abundance that the rest of the account will see destroyed (18:42).
