ينع

Core meaning

To ripen: the state of fruit that has reached its term.

1. وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ → "its ripening" : the second moment of the fruit, after its appearing.

   • «ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ» — "Look at its fruit, when it bears fruit, and its ripening" (6:99)

Evidence from the text

The word appears only in 6:99. It is coordinated with ثَمَر: one looks at the fruit when it appears, then when it has ripened. The two moments of one process are offered to observation among the signs of creation.
