Bentuk yang tercatat : سُلَيْمَٰنَ 11 · سُلَيْمَٰنُ 3 · لِسُلَيْمَٰنَ 3

Core meaning

Proper noun. The text reads it from سلم, being true to God: the queen ends her account by declaring herself true to God "with Sulayman". The translation writes the name alone: "Sulayman".

Uses

  1. سُلَيْمَٰن → "Sulayman" : the son of Dawud, who inherits from him knowledge and dominion.

    • «وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَٰنُ دَاوُۥدَ» — "And Sulayman inherited from Dawud" (27:16)
    • «وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ» — "and I am true, with Sulayman, to God, Guardian of all beings" (27:44)

Evidence from the text

In 27:44, the verb أَسْلَمَ, whose letters س ل م are those of the name, is joined to it: the queen, at the end of her account, declares herself "true, with Sulayman, to God". The account is resolved without battle, though Sulayman threatens to send his armies (27:37): a letter (27:30), a gift refused (27:36), and the invitation to come as those true to God (27:31).

With Dawud, he receives knowledge and judgment: "We granted Sulayman the understanding of it" (21:79). He inherits from his father (27:16), commands armies of the Occulted, humans and birds (27:17), and is tried, then turns back (38:34).

Distinctions
