نزف

Core meaning

To be drained of one's reason, as by drunkenness: what the cup of the Garden does not do.

Uses

1. يُنزَفُونَ, يُنزِفُونَ → "intoxication", "be intoxicated" : always denied: the drink does not take away lucidity.

   • «وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ» — "and no intoxication" (37:47)
   • «وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ» — "nor be intoxicated" (56:19)

Evidence from the text

Both occurrences describe the cup served in the Garden and deny the same effect: "causing no headache and no intoxication" (37:47), "from which they will neither ache nor be intoxicated" (56:19). The word is used only to be denied: the drink is defined by what it spares.
