Bentuk yang tercatat : إِدْرِيسَ 2
Core meaning
Proper noun. The text says little of him, and each trait counts: a man of truth and an informant, elevated to a lofty station, named among the patient. The translation writes the name alone: "Idris".
Uses
إِدْرِيس → "Idris" : the informant mentioned in the Scripture, alongside Isma'il and Dhul-Kifl.
Evidence from the text
Both occurrences place him in a line of informants. In 19:56, he receives the description given to Ibrahim in the same sura (19:41), "a veracious man, an informant", and the next verse adds: "And We elevated him to a lofty station" (19:57). In 21:85, he is named with Isma'il and Dhul-Kifl, and the sentence closes on what unites them: "each was among the patient".
