Al-Ahzab
A Single Core
- 33:1ورشقالون
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O Prophet, guard yourself before God,
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ and do not obey those who disown nor the hypocrites.
وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَGod is indeed All-Knowing, Wise.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭاAnd follow what is revealed to you from your Guardian.
وَٱتَّبِعْ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ- 33:2الدوريالسوسي
God is indeed Informed of what you do.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًۭا And rely upon God:
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِGod suffices as a trustee.
وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًۭاGod has not assigned to any man two cores within his chest.
مَّا جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِرَجُلٍۢ مِّن قَلْبَيْنِ فِى جَوْفِهِۦ- 33:4ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
Nor has He made your wives — those against whom you pronounce the exclusion formula — your mothers,
وَمَا جَعَلَ أَزْوَٰجَكُمُ ٱلَّٰٓـِٔى تُظَٰهِرُونَ مِنْهُنَّ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ nor has He made your adopted sons your [true] sons.
وَمَا جَعَلَ أَدْعِيَآءَكُمْ أَبْنَآءَكُمْThat is only your saying, [uttered] by your mouths;
ذَٰلِكُمْ قَوْلُكُم بِأَفْوَٰهِكُمْand God speaks the truth, and it is He who guides to the way.
وَٱللَّهُ يَقُولُ ٱلْحَقَّ وَهُوَ يَهْدِى ٱلسَّبِيلَCall them by their fathers' names: that is more equitable with God.
ٱدْعُوهُمْ لِءَابَآئِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِAnd if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in the Law, and your allies.
فَإِن لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَمَوَٰلِيكُمْAnd there is no fault upon you in what you may have gotten wrong,
وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌۭ فِيمَآ أَخْطَأْتُم بِهِۦbut rather in what your cores have premeditated.
وَلَٰكِن مَّا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْAnd God is Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًا- 33:6ورشقالون
The Prophet has, over the believers, more right than they have over themselves,
ٱلنَّبِىُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ and his wives are their mothers.
وَأَزْوَٰجُهُۥٓ أُمَّهَٰتُهُمْAnd those bound by kinship have, toward one another, more right under God's Code than the [unrelated] believers and the emigrants — except that you do what is recognized toward your allies.
وَأُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْحَامِ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِبَعْضٍۢ فِى كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ إِلَّآ أَن تَفْعَلُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَوْلِيَآئِكُم مَّعْرُوفًۭاThat was recorded in the Scripture.
كَانَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَسْطُورًۭاAnd [recall] when We took from the prophets their solemn engagement, and from you, and from Nuh, Ibrahim, Moussa, and Issa, son of Maryam —
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِيثَٰقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍۢ وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ٱبْنِ مَرْيَمَand We took from them a solemn and firm engagement, so that He might question the truthful about their truthfulness;
وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُم مِّيثَٰقًا غَلِيظًۭا لِّيَسْـَٔلَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدْقِهِمْand He has prepared for those who disown a painful punishment.
وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭاO you who have believed! remember God's blessing upon you, when armies came against you, and We sent upon them a wind and armies you did not see.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَآءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌۭ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا وَجُنُودًۭا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا- 33:9الدوريالسوسي
And God is All-Seeing of what you do.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا remember when they came upon you from above you and from below you,
إِذْ جَآءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْand when eyes turned aside, and cores reached the throats, and you conjectured about God all manner of conjectures.
وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۠There the believers were tested, and shaken with a violent shaking.
هُنَالِكَ ٱبْتُلِىَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا۟ زِلْزَالًۭا شَدِيدًۭاAnd when the hypocrites, and those in whose cores is a sickness, said, "God and His messenger promised us nothing but delusion,"
وَإِذْ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ مَّا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ إِلَّا غُرُورًۭا- 33:13ورش
and when a party among them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no place for you [here]; go back,"
وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَٱرْجِعُوا۟ - 33:13ورشقالونالسوسي
and a party among them was asking the Prophet's leave, saying, "Our houses lack privacy" — when they did not:
وَيَسْتَـْٔذِنُ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌۭ وَمَا هِىَ بِعَوْرَةٍ they wanted nothing but to flee.
إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًۭاAnd if [the city] had been entered from all its sides, and they had then been asked to betray, they would have done it, and would have hesitated but a little.
وَلَوْ دُخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَقْطَارِهَا ثُمَّ سُئِلُوا۟ ٱلْفِتْنَةَ لَءَاتَوْهَا وَمَا تَلَبَّثُوا۟ بِهَآ إِلَّا يَسِيرًۭاAnd they had certainly made a pact with God before, not to turn their backs [in battle];
وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَand for God's pact one will be held to account.
وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْـُٔولًۭاSay, "Flight will not benefit you if you flee from death or killing,
قُل لَّن يَنفَعَكُمُ ٱلْفِرَارُ إِن فَرَرْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ أَوِ ٱلْقَتْلِand then you would only enjoy [life] a little."
وَإِذًۭا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭاSay, "Who is it that could shield you from God, should He intend for you harm, or intend for you benevolence?"
قُلْ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَعْصِمُكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ سُوٓءًا أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةًۭAnd they will find, besides God, neither ally nor helper.
وَلَا يَجِدُونَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصِيرًۭاGod certainly knows those among you who obstruct, and those who say to their brothers, "Come to us," and who come to the fight only a little, being greedy toward you.
قَدْ يَعْلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْThen, when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like one overcome by fainting from death.
فَإِذَا جَآءَ ٱلْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَٱلَّذِى يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِThen, when the fear departs, they assail you with sharp tongues, greedy for any good.
فَإِذَا ذَهَبَ ٱلْخَوْفُ سَلَقُوكُم بِأَلْسِنَةٍ حِدَادٍ أَشِحَّةً عَلَى ٱلْخَيْرِThose have not believed, so God has voided their deeds,
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَأَحْبَطَ ٱللَّهُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْand that is, for God, an easy thing.
وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًۭا- 33:20ورش
They think the parties have not gone;
يَحْسَبُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ لَمْ يَذْهَبُوا۟ and were the parties to come [again], they would wish they had withdrawn among the notables,
وَإِن يَأْتِ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ يَوَدُّوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّهُم بَادُونَ فِى ٱلْأَعْرَابِasking about your news; and were they among you, they would have fought only a little.
يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا- 33:21ورش
You have certainly had, in the messenger of God, a beautiful example for whoever hopes for [the meeting with] God and the Last Day, and remembers God much.
لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌۭ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْءَاخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا And when the believers saw the parties, they said, "This is what God and His messenger promised us, and God and His messenger spoke truly,"
وَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلْأَحْزَابَ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥ وَصَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥand it only increased them in faith and [trusting] submission.
وَمَا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّآ إِيمَٰنًۭا وَتَسْلِيمًۭاAmong the believers are men who have been true to the pact they made with God:
مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌۭ صَدَقُوا۟ مَا عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْهِsome of them have fulfilled their vow [unto death], and some of them are waiting,
فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُand they have not changed in the least — so that God may recompense the truthful for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites, if He wills, or turn to them [in forgiveness].
وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًۭا لِّيَجْزِىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْGod is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭاAnd God turned back those who disowned, in their rage, without their obtaining any good;
وَرَدَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنَالُوا۟ خَيْرًۭاand God spared the believers the fight.
وَكَفَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱلْقِتَالَAnd God is Strong, All-Powerful.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزًۭاAnd He brought down from their strongholds those, among the People of the Scripture, who had supported them, and cast terror into their cores:
وَأَنزَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَٰهَرُوهُم مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِن صَيَاصِيهِمْ وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعْبَone party you were killing, and another party you were taking captive;
فَرِيقًۭا تَقْتُلُونَ وَتَأْسِرُونَ فَرِيقًۭاand He made you inherit their land, their abodes, and their goods, and a land you had not trodden.
وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ أَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَٰرَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَأَرْضًۭا لَّمْ تَطَـُٔوهَاAnd God is capable of all things.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرًۭا- 33:28ورشقالون
O Prophet, say to your wives, "If you desire the present life and its adornment, come, I will grant you provision and release you with a fitting release;
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ إِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا فَتَعَالَيْنَ أُمَتِّعْكُنَّ وَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّ سَرَاحًۭا جَمِيلًۭا but if you desire God, His messenger, and the last abode, then God has prepared, for those among you who do good, an immense reward."
وَإِن كُنتُنَّ تُرِدْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَٱلدَّارَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَعَدَّ لِلْمُحْسِنَٰتِ مِنكُنَّ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًۭا- 33:30ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
O wives of the Prophet, whoever among you commits a manifest indecency, the punishment would be doubled for her, twice over;
يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ مَن يَأْتِ مِنكُنَّ بِفَٰحِشَةٍۢ مُّبَيِّنَةٍۢ يُضَٰعَفْ لَهَا ٱلْعَذَابُ ضِعْفَيْنِ and that is, for God, an easy thing.
وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرًۭاAnd whoever among you is devoted to God and His messenger and does righteousness, We will give her reward twice, and We have prepared for her a generous provision.
وَمَن يَقْنُتْ مِنكُنَّ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًۭا نُّؤْتِهَآ أَجْرَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهَا رِزْقًۭا كَرِيمًۭا- 33:32ورشقالون
O wives of the Prophet, you are not like any other of women, if you guard yourselves [before Him].
يَٰنِسَآءَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِنِ ٱتَّقَيْتُنَّ So do not be complaisant in saying, lest he in whose core is a sickness should covet; and speak a recognized saying, and remain in your houses,
فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِٱلْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ ٱلَّذِى فِى قَلْبِهِۦ مَرَضٌۭ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًۭا مَّعْرُوفًۭا وَقَرْنَ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّand do not flaunt yourselves as was flaunted in the former ignorance.
وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ ٱلْأُولَىٰMaintain the Contact, and give the purifying alms,
وَأَقِمْنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتِينَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَand obey God and His messenger.
وَأَطِعْنَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓGod only intends to remove from you impurity, People of the House, and to purify you completely.
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ ٱلرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًۭاAnd remember what is recited in your houses of God's signs and wisdom.
وَٱذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِى بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْحِكْمَةِGod is indeed Subtle, Informed.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًاMen true to God alone and women true to God alone, believing men and believing women, devoted men and devoted women, truthful men and truthful women, enduring men and enduring women, humble men and humble women, men who give alms and women who give alms, men and women who abstain from vain speech, men who preserve their private parts and women who preserve them, men who remember God much and women who remember Him — God has prepared for them forgiveness and an immense reward.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَٱلْمُسْلِمَٰتِ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱلْقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْقَٰنِتَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّٰدِقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّٰبِرَٰتِ وَٱلْخَٰشِعِينَ وَٱلْخَٰشِعَٰتِ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلْمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمِينَ وَٱلصَّٰٓئِمَٰتِ وَٱلْحَٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَٱلْحَٰفِظَٰتِ وَٱلذَّٰكِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱلذَّٰكِرَٰتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةًۭ وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًۭا- 33:36ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
And it is not for any believing man or believing woman, when God and His messenger have decided a matter, to have the choice in their own affair.
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍۢ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ And whoever disobeys God and His messenger has strayed into manifest error.
وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۭا مُّبِينًۭاAnd [recall] when you said to the one God had favored and you had favored, "Keep your wife and guard yourself before God," while concealing within yourself what God was going to make known, and dreading the people, when God is more deserving that you dread Him.
وَإِذْ تَقُولُ لِلَّذِىٓ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ زَوْجَكَ وَٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ وَتُخْفِى فِى نَفْسِكَ مَا ٱللَّهُ مُبْدِيهِ وَتَخْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ وَٱللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَن تَخْشَىٰهُThen when Zayd had ended all engagement toward her, We gave her to you in marriage, so that there would be no discomfort for the believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons, once they have ended all engagement toward them.
فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ زَيْدٌۭ مِّنْهَا وَطَرًۭا زَوَّجْنَٰكَهَا لِكَىْ لَا يَكُونَ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَرَجٌۭ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِ أَدْعِيَآئِهِمْ إِذَا قَضَوْا۟ مِنْهُنَّ وَطَرًۭاAnd God's command is [always] carried out.
وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ مَفْعُولًۭا- 33:38ورشقالون
There is no discomfort for the Prophet in what God has ordained for him —
مَّا كَانَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ مِنْ حَرَجٍۢ فِيمَا فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ such was God's norm with those who passed before.
سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلُAnd God's command is a decree determined.
وَكَانَ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ قَدَرًۭا مَّقْدُورًاThose who deliver God's messages, and dread Him, and dread no one but God —
ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَلِّغُونَ رِسَٰلَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَخْشَوْنَهُۥ وَلَا يَخْشَوْنَ أَحَدًا إِلَّا ٱللَّهَand God suffices as an accountant.
وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًۭاMuhammad is not the father of any of your men,
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَآ أَحَدٍۢ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ- 33:40ورش
but rather the messenger of God and the seal of the prophets.
وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ And God is All-Knowing of all things.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭاO you who have believed! remember God much, and glorify Him morning and evening.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ذِكْرًۭا كَثِيرًۭا وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةًۭ وَأَصِيلًاIt is He who is in contact with you, He and His Agents, so as to bring you out of the darknesses into the light;
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُصَلِّى عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتُهُۥ لِيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِand He is, toward the believers, Benevolent.
وَكَانَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًۭاTheir greeting, the day they meet Him, will be, "Peace."
تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُۥ سَلَٰمٌۭAnd He has prepared for them a generous reward.
وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًۭا كَرِيمًۭا- 33:46ورشقالون
O Prophet, We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of good tidings, and a warner, as one calling to God by His permission, and as an illuminating torch.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ شَٰهِدًۭا وَمُبَشِّرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا And give the believers the good news that they will have, from God, great favor.
وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ فَضْلًۭا كَبِيرًۭاAnd do not obey those who disown nor the hypocrites,
وَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَand disregard their nuisance,
وَدَعْ أَذَىٰهُمْand rely upon God:
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِGod suffices as a trustee.
وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًۭاO you who have believed! when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, you have no waiting period against them for you to count.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍۢ تَعْتَدُّونَهَاSo grant them provision, and release them with a fitting release.
فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحًۭا جَمِيلًۭا- 33:50ورشقالون
O Prophet, We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their bridal gifts, she who is bound to you by pledge among what God has granted you, and the daughters of your paternal uncle, the daughters of your paternal aunts, the daughters of your maternal uncle, and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you, and any believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet — provided the Prophet wishes to marry her:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِنَّآ أَحْلَلْنَا لَكَ أَزْوَٰجَكَ ٱلَّٰتِىٓ ءَاتَيْتَ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ مِمَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّكَ وَبَنَاتِ عَمَّٰتِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَالِكَ وَبَنَاتِ خَٰلَٰتِكَ ٱلَّٰتِى هَاجَرْنَ مَعَكَ وَٱمْرَأَةًۭ مُّؤْمِنَةً إِن وَهَبَتْ نَفْسَهَا لِلنَّبِىِّ إِنْ أَرَادَ ٱلنَّبِىُّ أَن يَسْتَنكِحَهَا exclusively for you, and not for the [other] believers.
خَالِصَةًۭ لَّكَ مِن دُونِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَWe certainly know what We have ordained for them concerning their wives and those bound to them by pledge, so that there may be no discomfort for you;
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا فَرَضْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فِىٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ لِكَيْلَا يَكُونَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌۭand God is Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭاYou may defer whom you will of them, and take to yourself whom you will;
تُرْجِى مَن تَشَآءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُـْٔوِىٓ إِلَيْكَ مَن تَشَآءُand whomever you desire of those you had set aside, no blame attaches to you.
وَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَThat is more fitting so that their gaze may settle, and they not grieve, and they be content, all of them, with what you give them.
ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن تَقَرَّ أَعْيُنُهُنَّ وَلَا يَحْزَنَّ وَيَرْضَيْنَ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْتَهُنَّ كُلُّهُنَّAnd God knows what is in your cores;
وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى قُلُوبِكُمْand God is All-Knowing, Forbearing.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَلِيمًۭا- 33:52الدوريالسوسي
It is not lawful for you [to marry other] women after this, nor to exchange them for other wives, even were their beauty to please you — except she who is bound to you by pledge.
لَّا يَحِلُّ لَكَ ٱلنِّسَآءُ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ أَن تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجٍۢ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ And God watches over all things.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ رَّقِيبًۭا- 33:53ورش
O you who have believed! do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given you for food, without awaiting its readiness;
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَٰظِرِينَ إِنَىٰهُ - 33:53ورشقالونالسوسي
but when you are invited, enter; and when you have fed, deploy, without lingering for discourse.
وَلَٰكِنْ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ فَٱدْخُلُوا۟ فَإِذَا طَعِمْتُمْ فَٱنتَشِرُوا۟ وَلَا مُسْتَـْٔنِسِينَ لِحَدِيثٍ - 33:53ورشقالون
That used to trouble the Prophet, though he felt shy toward you,
إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ يُؤْذِى ٱلنَّبِىَّ فَيَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنكُمْ whereas God is not shy of the truth.
وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَسْتَحْىِۦ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّAnd when you ask them for an item, ask them from behind a screen:
وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَٰعًۭا فَسْـَٔلُوهُنَّ مِن وَرَآءِ حِجَابٍۢthat is purer for your cores and their cores.
ذَٰلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّAnd it is not for you to trouble the messenger of God, nor to marry his wives after him, ever;
وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُؤْذُوا۟ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَن تَنكِحُوٓا۟ أَزْوَٰجَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَبَدًاthat is indeed, with God, immense.
إِنَّ ذَٰلِكُمْ كَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِيمًاWhether you disclose a thing or conceal it, God is All-Knowing of all things.
إِن تُبْدُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمًۭاThere is no blame upon them concerning their fathers, nor their sons, nor their brothers, nor their brothers' sons, nor their sisters' sons, nor the women of their own circle, nor those bound to them by pledge.
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فِىٓ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ وَلَآ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآءِ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ وَلَآ أَبْنَآءِ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ وَلَا نِسَآئِهِنَّ وَلَا مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُنَّAnd guard yourselves before God:
وَٱتَّقِينَ ٱللَّهَGod is indeed, over all things, a witness.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدًا- 33:56ورشقالون
God and His Agents are in constant contact with the Prophet.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ O you who have believed! be in contact with him, and greet him with a [peaceful] salutation.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًاThose who trouble God and His messenger — God has cursed them in the present life and the last life, and has prepared for them a degrading punishment.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ لَعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًۭا مُّهِينًۭاAnd those who trouble believing men and believing women for anything other than what they have earned bear the weight of slander and manifest transgression.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا ٱكْتَسَبُوا۟ فَقَدِ ٱحْتَمَلُوا۟ بُهْتَٰنًۭا وَإِثْمًۭا مُّبِينًۭا- 33:59ورشقالون
O Prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers to draw over themselves part of their outer garments:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَآءِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَٰبِيبِهِنَّ that is more fitting so that they will be recognized and not be troubled.
ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَAnd God is Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭاIf the hypocrites, those in whose cores is a sickness, and the rumor-mongers in the Capital do not cease, We will certainly incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors there except a little, being cursed.
لَّئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ وَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَآ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مَّلْعُونِينَWherever they are found, they will be seized and massacred in an utter massacre.
أَيْنَمَا ثُقِفُوٓا۟ أُخِذُوا۟ وَقُتِّلُوا۟ تَقْتِيلًۭا[Such was] God's norm with those who passed before,
سُنَّةَ ٱللَّهِ فِى ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلُand you will never find in God's norm any change.
وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًۭاThe people ask you about the Hour.
يَسْـَٔلُكَ ٱلنَّاسُ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِSay, "Knowledge of it is only with God,
قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِand what gives you an idea?
وَمَا يُدْرِيكَPerhaps the Hour is near."
لَعَلَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ تَكُونُ قَرِيبًاGod has indeed cursed those who disown, and has prepared for them an Inferno in which they will abide eternally, forever, finding neither ally nor helper —
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَعَنَ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ سَعِيرًا خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا لَّا يَجِدُونَ وَلِيًّۭا وَلَا نَصِيرًۭاthe day their direction is overturned in the Fire, they will say, "Would that we had obeyed God and obeyed the messenger!"
يَوْمَ تُقَلَّبُ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِى ٱلنَّارِ يَقُولُونَ يَٰلَيْتَنَآ أَطَعْنَا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطَعْنَا ٱلرَّسُولَا۠And they will say, "Our Guardian, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they led us astray from the way.
وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّآ أَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَآءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا ٱلسَّبِيلَا۠- 33:68ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
Our Guardian, give them double punishment, and curse them with a many-fold curse."
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَٱلْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًۭا كَبِيرًۭا O you who have believed! do not be like those who troubled Moussa; God declared him innocent of what they said,
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاذَوْا۟ مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا۟and he was, with God, of high standing.
وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيهًۭاO you who have believed! guard yourselves toward God and speak a straight saying: He will set right your deeds for you and forgive you your offenses.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُوا۟ قَوْلًۭا سَدِيدًۭا يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَٰلَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْAnd whoever obeys God and His messenger has attained an immense triumph.
وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًاWe offered the trust to the heavens, the earth, and the mountains; they refused to bear it and were apprehensive of it,
إِنَّا عَرَضْنَا ٱلْأَمَانَةَ عَلَى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلْجِبَالِ فَأَبَيْنَ أَن يَحْمِلْنَهَا وَأَشْفَقْنَ مِنْهَاand the human being bore it: he was indeed deeply unjust, deeply ignorant — so that God may punish the hypocrites, men and women, and those who associate [others with God], men and women, and turn in forgiveness to the believing men and the believing women.
وَحَمَلَهَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ ظَلُومًۭا جَهُولًۭا لِّيُعَذِّبَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِ وَيَتُوبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِAnd God is Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۢا
