Al-Hashr

• 59:1

  In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. All that is in the heavens and on the earth has glorified God.

  بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ
• 59:1

  He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.

  وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
• 59:2

  It is He who expelled from their homes those who, among the People of the Scripture, disowned, in the first gathering.

  هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ لِأَوَّلِ ٱلْحَشْرِ
• 59:2

  You did not think they would leave.

  مَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن يَخْرُجُوا۟
• 59:2

  And they thought their strongholds would protect them from God.

  وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُم مَّانِعَتُهُمْ حُصُونُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ
• 59:2

  But God came upon them from where they did not expect.

  فَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَمْ يَحْتَسِبُوا۟
• 59:2

  And He cast terror into their cores.

  وَقَذَفَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلرُّعْبَ
• 59:2

  They destroyed their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers.

  يُخْرِبُونَ بُيُوتَهُم بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَيْدِى ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
• 59:2

  So take heed, O possessors of sight.

  فَٱعْتَبِرُوا۟ يَٰٓأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَبْصَٰرِ
• 59:3

  And had God not decreed exile for them, He would have punished them in the present life.

  وَلَوْلَآ أَن كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْجَلَآءَ لَعَذَّبَهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا
• 59:3

  And theirs, in the last life, is the punishment of the Fire.

  وَلَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ عَذَابُ ٱلنَّارِ
• 59:4

  That is because they set themselves in breach against God and His messenger.

  ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ شَآقُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ
• 59:4

  And whoever sets himself in breach against God — God is severe in sanction.

  وَمَن يُشَآقِّ ٱللَّهَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
• 59:5

  Whatever act of kindness [toward them] you cut off, or left standing on its foundations, it is by God's leave, and so as to disgrace the oversteppers.

  مَا قَطَعْتُم مِّن لِّينَةٍ أَوْ تَرَكْتُمُوهَا قَآئِمَةً عَلَىٰٓ أُصُولِهَا فَبِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِيُخْزِىَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ
• 59:6

  And whatever God restored to His messenger from them, you spurred neither horse nor mount for it.

  وَمَآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍۢ وَلَا رِكَابٍۢ
• 59:6

  But God gives His messengers power over whom He wills.

  وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ
• 59:6

  And God is capable of all things.

  وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭ
• 59:7

  Whatever God restored to His messenger from the people of the towns belongs to God and the messenger, to relatives, orphans, the destitute, and the stranded traveler, so that it does not circulate among the wealthy among you.

  مَّآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ فَلِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبْنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ كَىْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةًۢ بَيْنَ ٱلْأَغْنِيَآءِ مِنكُمْ
• 59:7

  And whatever the messenger gives you, take it.

  وَمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ
• 59:7

  And whatever he forbids you, abstain from it.

  وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ فَٱنتَهُوا۟
• 59:7

  And guard yourselves toward God; God is severe in sanction.

  وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
• 59:8

  [This is] for the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and goods, seeking favor from God and His pleasure, and who help God and His messenger.

  لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ
• 59:8

  Those are the truthful.

  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّٰدِقُونَ
• 59:9

  And those who had settled in the abode and in faith before them love those who have emigrated to them, and find in their chests no need for what they were given, and prefer them over themselves, even if they themselves suffer privation.

  وَٱلَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلْإِيمَٰنَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِى صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةًۭ مِّمَّآ أُوتُوا۟ وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌۭ
• 59:9

  And whoever is protected from the avarice of his Self — those are the ones who succeed.

  وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
• 59:10

  And those who came after them say: Our Guardian, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and put no rancor in our cores toward those who believe.

  وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِى قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّۭا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟
• 59:10شعبةالدوريالسوسي

  Our Guardian, You are full of kindness, Benevolent.

  رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ
• 59:11

  Have you not seen those who practiced hypocrisy saying to their brothers who, among the People of the Scripture, disowned: If you are expelled, we will surely leave with you, and we will never obey anyone against you; and if you are fought, we will surely help you.

  أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَئِنْ أُخْرِجْتُمْ لَنَخْرُجَنَّ مَعَكُمْ وَلَا نُطِيعُ فِيكُمْ أَحَدًا أَبَدًۭا وَإِن قُوتِلْتُمْ لَنَنصُرَنَّكُمْ
• 59:11

  And God testifies that they are surely liars.

  وَٱللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
• 59:12

  If they are expelled, they will not leave with them.

  لَئِنْ أُخْرِجُوا۟ لَا يَخْرُجُونَ مَعَهُمْ
• 59:12

  And if they are fought, they will not help them.

  وَلَئِن قُوتِلُوا۟ لَا يَنصُرُونَهُمْ
• 59:12

  And even if they helped them, they would surely turn their backs, then not be helped.

  وَلَئِن نَّصَرُوهُمْ لَيُوَلُّنَّ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنصَرُونَ
• 59:13

  You inspire, in their chests, more reverence than God.

  لَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ رَهْبَةًۭ فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ
• 59:13

  That is because they are a people who do not understand.

  ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ
• 59:14البزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي

  They will not fight you all together except entrenched in fortified towns or behind walls.

  لَا يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمْ جَمِيعًا إِلَّا فِى قُرًۭى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوْ مِن وَرَآءِ جُدُرٍۭ
• 59:14

  Their violence among themselves is severe.

  بَأْسُهُم بَيْنَهُمْ شَدِيدٌۭ
• 59:14ورش

  You think them united, while their cores are divided.

  تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيعًۭا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ شَتَّىٰ
• 59:14

  That is because they are a people who do not reason.

  ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌۭ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ
• 59:15

  They are like those shortly before them,

  كَمَثَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قَرِيبًۭا
• 59:15

  who tasted the evil consequence of their affair.

  ذَاقُوا۟ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِمْ
• 59:15

  And theirs is a painful punishment.

  وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ
• 59:16

  They are like the Diverter when he says to the human being: Disown! Then when he has disowned, he says: I am clear of you, I fear God, Guardian of all beings.

  كَمَثَلِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ إِذْ قَالَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ ٱكْفُرْ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّنكَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ ٱللَّهَ رَبَّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
• 59:17

  And the end of both was that they were in the Fire, abiding there eternally.

  فَكَانَ عَٰقِبَتَهُمَآ أَنَّهُمَا فِى ٱلنَّارِ خَٰلِدَيْنِ فِيهَا
• 59:17

  Such is the recompense of the wrongdoers.

  وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
• 59:18

  O you who have believed! guard yourselves toward God, and let every Self consider what it has prepared for tomorrow.

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍۢ
• 59:18

  And guard yourselves toward God.

  وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ
• 59:18

  God is indeed Informed of what you do.

  إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
• 59:19

  And do not be like those who forgot God, so He made them forget themselves.

  وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ نَسُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَأَنسَىٰهُمْ أَنفُسَهُمْ
• 59:19

  Those are the oversteppers.

  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
• 59:20

  The companions of the Fire and the companions of the Garden are not equal.

  لَا يَسْتَوِىٓ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ
• 59:20

  The companions of the Garden are the triumphant.

  أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
• 59:21

  Had We sent down this Recitation upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, split apart out of fear of God.

  لَوْ أَنزَلْنَا هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ عَلَىٰ جَبَلٍۢ لَّرَأَيْتَهُۥ خَٰشِعًۭا مُّتَصَدِّعًۭا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ ٱللَّهِ
• 59:21

  These are the examples We multiply for the people, so that they may reflect.

  وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
• 59:22

  He is God, there is no deity but Him.

  هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ
• 59:22

  Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest.

  عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ
• 59:22

  He is the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent.

  هُوَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
• 59:23

  He is God, there is no deity but Him, the Sovereign, the Most Holy, the Peace, the Guarantor, the Prevailing, the All-Powerful, the Overpowering, the Supremely Great.

  هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْمَلِكُ ٱلْقُدُّوسُ ٱلسَّلَٰمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُ ٱلْمُهَيْمِنُ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْجَبَّارُ ٱلْمُتَكَبِّرُ
• 59:23

  Glory be to God, above what they associate with Him.

  سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
• 59:24

  He is God, the Creator, the Originator, the Fashioner of forms.

  هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَٰلِقُ ٱلْبَارِئُ ٱلْمُصَوِّرُ
• 59:24

  To Him belong the most beautiful attributes.

  لَهُ ٱلْأَسْمَآءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
• 59:24

  All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him.

  يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ
• 59:24

  He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.

  وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
