Al-An'am
The Guardian of Every Thing
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Praise be to God, who created the heavens and the earth, and made the darknesses and the light; yet those who disown set up equals to their Guardian.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ وَٱلنُّورَ ثُمَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَIt is He who created you from clay, then decreed a term —
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن طِينٍۢ ثُمَّ قَضَىٰٓ أَجَلًۭاand an appointed term, with Him.
وَأَجَلٌۭ مُّسَمًّى عِندَهُۥYet still you doubt.
ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تَمْتَرُونَAnd He is God,
وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُin the heavens and on the earth; He knows your secret and your public, and He knows what you earn.
فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ وَجَهْرَكُمْ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُونَNo sign, among the signs of their Guardian, comes to them without their turning away from it.
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۢ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَSo they have denied the truth, when it came to them;
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْthe information of what they used to mock will soon reach them.
فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَDo they not see how many generations We annihilated before them, whom We had established on the earth as We have not established you,
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍۢ مَّكَّنَّٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّن لَّكُمْand to whom We sent the sky in abundant rains,
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْهِم مِّدْرَارًۭاand We made the rivers flow beneath them; then We annihilated them for their offenses,
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْand We raised up, after them, another generation.
وَأَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَAnd had We sent down upon you a writing on parchment, and they had touched it with their hands, those who disown would certainly have said: "This is nothing but a manifest illusion."
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ كِتَٰبًۭا فِى قِرْطَاسٍۢ فَلَمَسُوهُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ لَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭAnd they say: "Why has an Agent not been sent down upon him!"
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌۭAnd had We sent down an Agent, the matter would already have been settled, and they would be granted no delay.
وَلَوْ أَنزَلْنَا مَلَكًۭا لَّقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنظَرُونَAnd had We made him an Agent, We would have made him a man, and We would have clothed him in what they themselves wear.
وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَٰهُ مَلَكًۭا لَّجَعَلْنَٰهُ رَجُلًۭا وَلَلَبَسْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّا يَلْبِسُونَMessengers before you were indeed mocked; then what they used to mock enveloped those among them who scoffed.
وَلَقَدِ ٱسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَSay: "Travel through the land, then look how the end of those who denied was."
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَSay: "To whom belongs what is in the heavens and on the earth?" Say: "To God.
قُل لِّمَن مَّا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ قُل لِّلَّهِHe has prescribed benevolence upon Himself.
كَتَبَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَHe will certainly gather you on the Day of Appearance, no doubt possible.
لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِThose who will have caused the loss of their Selves, those are the ones who do not believe."
ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَTo Him belongs what rests in the night and the day;
وَلَهُۥ مَا سَكَنَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِHe is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُSay: "Should I take a protector other than God, the Originator of the heavens and the earth,
قُلْ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَتَّخِذُ وَلِيًّۭا فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِIt is He who nourishes and is not nourished."
وَهُوَ يُطْعِمُ وَلَا يُطْعَمُSay: "I have been commanded to be the first of those who are true to God alone",
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَand never be among those who associate.
وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَSay: "I indeed fear, if I disobey my Guardian, the punishment of an immense day."
قُلْ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ إِنْ عَصَيْتُ رَبِّى عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢWhoever is turned away from it, on that day, He will have shown him benevolence,
مَّن يُصْرَفْ عَنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فَقَدْ رَحِمَهُۥand that is the manifest triumph.
وَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْمُبِينُAnd if God touches you with harm, none can remove it but Him;
وَإِن يَمْسَسْكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّۢ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُۥٓ إِلَّا هُوَand if He touches you with good, He is capable of all things.
وَإِن يَمْسَسْكَ بِخَيْرٍۢ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ قَدِيرٌۭHe prevails above His obedient ones,
وَهُوَ ٱلْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِۦand He is the Wise, the Informed.
وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُSay: "What thing is greatest in testimony?" Say: "God,
قُلْ أَىُّ شَىْءٍ أَكْبَرُ شَهَٰدَةًۭ قُلِ ٱللَّهُwitness between me and you.
شَهِيدٌۢ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْAnd this Recitation was revealed to me so that I might warn you by it, and whoever it reaches.
وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لِأُنذِرَكُم بِهِۦ وَمَنۢ بَلَغَ- 6:19البزيقنبل
Do you truly bear witness that there are, with God, other deities?" Say: "I do not bear witness [to that]."
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً أُخْرَىٰ قُل لَّآ أَشْهَدُ Say: "He is only one deity,
قُلْ إِنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٌۭ وَٰحِدٌۭand I am indeed clear of what you associate [with Him]."
وَإِنَّنِى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَThose to whom We gave the Scripture recognize him as they recognize their own children;
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَعْرِفُونَهُۥ كَمَا يَعْرِفُونَ أَبْنَآءَهُمُthose who will have caused the loss of their Selves, those are the ones who do not believe.
ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَWho is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or denies His signs?
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓThe wrongdoers indeed do not succeed.
إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَAnd the day when We gather them all together, then say to those who associated: "Where are your associates, whom you used to claim?"
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ نَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآؤُكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ- 6:23ورش
Then their only trial will have been to say: "By God, our Guardian, we were not among those who associate."
ثُمَّ لَمْ تَكُن فِتْنَتُهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ وَٱللَّهِ رَبِّنَا مَا كُنَّا مُشْرِكِينَ Look how they lie against themselves! And what they used to invent will have strayed away from them.
ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَAnd among them are some who listen to you,
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَbut We have placed over their cores coverings, so that they do not understand it, and in their ears a deafness.
وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًۭاAnd even if they saw every sign, they would not believe in it,
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَاto the point that, when they come to you to argue, those who disown say: "These are nothing but legends of the ancients."
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُوكَ يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَAnd they forbid it [to others], and they distance themselves [from it];
وَهُمْ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ وَيَنْـَٔوْنَ عَنْهُand they ruin none but themselves, without perceiving it.
وَإِن يُهْلِكُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَAnd if you could see, when they will be placed before the Fire, and say: "Ah, if only we were sent back,
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَقَالُوا۟ يَٰلَيْتَنَا نُرَدُّand no longer denied the signs of our Guardian, and were among the believers!"
وَلَا نُكَذِّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّنَا وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَNo! what they used to hide before has become apparent to them.
بَلْ بَدَا لَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُخْفُونَ مِن قَبْلُAnd were they sent back, they would certainly return to what they had been forbidden,
وَلَوْ رُدُّوا۟ لَعَادُوا۟ لِمَا نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُfor they are surely liars.
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَAnd they say: "There is nothing but our present life, and we will not be resurrected."
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَAnd if you could see, when they will be placed before their Guardian! He will say: "Is this not the truth?"
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّThey will say: "Yes, by our Guardian!"
قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَاHe will say: "Taste then the punishment, for having disowned."
قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَThey are indeed losers, those who have denied the meeting with God, to the point that, when the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly, they say: "What regret for us, for what we neglected in it!" They will bear their burdens on their backs.
قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ يَٰحَسْرَتَنَا عَلَىٰ مَا فَرَّطْنَا فِيهَا وَهُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ أَوْزَارَهُمْ عَلَىٰ ظُهُورِهِمْHow evil is what they weigh themselves down with!
أَلَا سَآءَ مَا يَزِرُونَThe present life is nothing but play and distraction;
وَمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَعِبٌۭ وَلَهْوٌۭand the last abode is indeed better for those who guard themselves.
وَلَلدَّارُ ٱلْءَاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ- 6:32شعبةالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
Will you not then reason?
أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ - 6:33ورش
We know well that what they say grieves you;
قَدْ نَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَحْزُنُكَ ٱلَّذِى يَقُولُونَ - 6:33ورش
but it is indeed not you they deny,
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ but it is the signs of God that the wrongdoers stubbornly reject.
وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَMessengers were indeed denied before you; they endured this denial and these persecutions, until Our help came to them.
وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا۟ وَأُوذُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰهُمْ نَصْرُنَاNo [force] can change the words of God.
وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِSome of the information about the envoys has indeed already reached you.
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِى۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَAnd if their turning away weighs upon you, then, if you have the capacity, seek a tunnel into the earth, or a ladder into the sky, to bring them a sign.
وَإِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيْكَ إِعْرَاضُهُمْ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ أَن تَبْتَغِىَ نَفَقًۭا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ سُلَّمًۭا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَأْتِيَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍۢHad God willed, He would have gathered them upon guidance;
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَمَعَهُمْ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰso never be among the ignorant.
فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْجَٰهِلِينَOnly those who hear respond.
إِنَّمَا يَسْتَجِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَAs for the dead, God will resurrect them,
وَٱلْمَوْتَىٰ يَبْعَثُهُمُ ٱللَّهُthen it is to Him that they will be returned.
ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَAnd they say: "Why has a sign from his Guardian not been sent down upon him!"
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦSay: "God is capable of sending down a sign",
قُلْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُنَزِّلَ ءَايَةًۭbut most of them do not know.
وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَThere is no living being on the earth, nor bird flying with its two wings, but forms communities like you.
وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَٰٓئِرٍۢ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّآ أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُمWe have neglected nothing of the Code.
مَّا فَرَّطْنَا فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مِن شَىْءٍۢThen it is to their Guardian that they will be gathered.
ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يُحْشَرُونَAnd those who have denied Our signs are deaf and mute, in darknesses.
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا صُمٌّۭ وَبُكْمٌۭ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِWhoever God wills to lead astray, He leads astray;
مَن يَشَإِ ٱللَّهُ يُضْلِلْهُand whoever He wills [to guide], He places on a straight path.
وَمَن يَشَأْ يَجْعَلْهُ عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢSay: "What do you think? If the punishment of God came upon you, or the Hour came upon you, would you invoke other than God, if you are truthful?"
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتَكُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُ ٱللَّهِ أَوْ أَتَتْكُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَدْعُونَ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَIn reality, it is Him you would invoke; He would then remove, if He willed, that for which you invoked Him, and you would forget what you associate [with Him].
بَلْ إِيَّاهُ تَدْعُونَ فَيَكْشِفُ مَا تَدْعُونَ إِلَيْهِ إِن شَآءَ وَتَنسَوْنَ مَا تُشْرِكُونَWe have indeed sent [messengers] to communities before you, and We seized them with misfortune and hardship, that they might humble themselves.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِٱلْبَأْسَآءِ وَٱلضَّرَّآءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَWhy did they not humble themselves, when Our rigor came upon them!
فَلَوْلَآ إِذْ جَآءَهُم بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا۟But their cores hardened, and the Diverter embellished for them what they were doing.
وَلَٰكِن قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَThen, when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We opened upon them the gates of everything,
فَلَمَّا نَسُوا۟ مَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَٰبَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍto the point that, when they rejoiced in what had been given them, We seized them by surprise, and there they were, in despair.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَآ أُوتُوٓا۟ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَThus was the last remnant of the people who had been unjust cut off.
فَقُطِعَ دَابِرُ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟And praise be to God, Guardian of all beings.
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَSay: "What do you think? If God took your hearing and your sight, and sealed your cores, what deity, other than God, would bring them back to you?"
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ سَمْعَكُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرَكُمْ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُم مَّنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِهِLook how We diversify the signs, and yet they turn away from them.
ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُونَSay: "What do you think? If the punishment of God came upon you, unexpectedly or openly, who would be annihilated, but the wrongdoing people?"
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتَكُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُ ٱللَّهِ بَغْتَةً أَوْ جَهْرَةً هَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَWe send the envoys only as bearers of good tidings and warners.
وَمَا نُرْسِلُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَWhoever believes and reforms, no fear upon them, and they will not grieve.
فَمَنْ ءَامَنَ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَAnd those who have denied Our signs, the punishment will touch them, for having overstepped.
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَمَسُّهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَSay: "I do not tell you that I hold the treasures of God, nor that I know what escapes the senses, nor do I tell you that I am an Agent;
قُل لَّآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ إِنِّى مَلَكٌI only follow what is revealed to me."
إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّSay: "Are the blind and the seeing equal?"
قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُWill you not then reflect?
أَفَلَا تَتَفَكَّرُونَAnd warn by it those who fear to be gathered to their Guardian — they have, besides Him, neither protector nor intercessor — perhaps they will guard themselves.
وَأَنذِرْ بِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ أَن يُحْشَرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ لَيْسَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ وَلِىٌّۭ وَلَا شَفِيعٌۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَAnd do not turn away those who invoke their Guardian, morning and evening, seeking His direction. Nothing of their account is upon you, and nothing of your account is upon them, that you should turn them away and then be among the wrongdoers.
وَلَا تَطْرُدِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلْعَشِىِّ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَهُۥ مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ وَمَا مِنْ حِسَابِكَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ فَتَطْرُدَهُمْ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَAnd thus have We tried some of them by others, that they might say: "Is it then these whom God has favored among us?"
وَكَذَٰلِكَ فَتَنَّا بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍۢ لِّيَقُولُوٓا۟ أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنۢ بَيْنِنَآDoes God not know best those who are grateful?
أَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِٱلشَّٰكِرِينَAnd when those who believe in Our signs come to you, say: "Peace be upon you.
وَإِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَقُلْ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ- 6:54ورش
Your Guardian has prescribed benevolence upon Himself: whoever among you commits evil out of ignorance, then repents after that and reforms — He is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent."
كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ أَنَّهُۥ مَنْ عَمِلَ مِنكُمْ سُوٓءًۢا بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَنَّهُۥ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ - 6:55شعبة
Thus do We detail the signs, so that the path of the severed may become clearly apparent.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَلِتَسْتَبِينَ سَبِيلُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ Say: "I have been forbidden to obey those you invoke besides God."
قُلْ إِنِّى نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِSay: "I do not follow your emotions;
قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَآءَكُمْI would then be astray, and I would not be among those who let themselves be guided."
قَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًۭا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُهْتَدِينَSay: "I rely on clear evidence from my Guardian, and you have denied it.
قُلْ إِنِّى عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍۢ مِّن رَّبِّى وَكَذَّبْتُم بِهِۦI do not hold what you seek to hasten.
مَا عِندِى مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِۦٓJudgment belongs only to God.
إِنِ ٱلْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ- 6:57الدوريالسوسي
He relates the truth,
يَقُصُّ ٱلْحَقَّ and He is the best of those who separate."
وَهُوَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰصِلِينَSay: "If I held what you seek to hasten, the matter would already have been settled between me and you."
قُل لَّوْ أَنَّ عِندِى مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِۦ لَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْGod knows best the wrongdoers.
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلظَّٰلِمِينَHe holds the keys of what escapes the senses: none knows them, save Him.
وَعِندَهُۥ مَفَاتِحُ ٱلْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَآ إِلَّا هُوَAnd He knows what is on land and in the sea.
وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِNo leaf falls but He knows it; no grain, in the darknesses of the earth, nothing moist or dry, that is not in a clear register.
وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍۢ فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍۢ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِى كِتَٰبٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢIt is He who takes you back to Himself, by night, and knows what you accomplish by day, then He resurrects you in it, so that an appointed term may be fulfilled;
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا جَرَحْتُم بِٱلنَّهَارِ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُكُمْ فِيهِ لِيُقْضَىٰٓ أَجَلٌۭ مُّسَمًّۭىthen to Him will be your return, and He will inform you of what you used to do.
ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَHe prevails above His obedient ones,
وَهُوَ ٱلْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِۦand He sends upon you guardians,
وَيُرْسِلُ عَلَيْكُمْ حَفَظَةًto the point that, when death comes to one of you, Our envoys take him back [to Him], never failing.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا وَهُمْ لَا يُفَرِّطُونَThen they are returned to God, their true nearest Guarantor.
ثُمَّ رُدُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَوْلَىٰهُمُ ٱلْحَقِّIs it not to Him that judgment belongs?
أَلَا لَهُ ٱلْحُكْمُHe is the swiftest of those who take account.
وَهُوَ أَسْرَعُ ٱلْحَٰسِبِينَ- 6:63ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
Say: "Who saves you from the darknesses of land and sea?" — you invoke Him humbly and in secret: "If You save us from this, we will certainly be among the grateful."
قُلْ مَن يُنَجِّيكُم مِّن ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ تَدْعُونَهُۥ تَضَرُّعًۭا وَخُفْيَةًۭ لَّئِنْ أَنجَىٰنَا مِنْ هَٰذِهِۦ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ - 6:64ورش
Say: "God saves you from it, and from every distress; yet you associate [others with Him]."
قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُنَجِّيكُم مِّنْهَا وَمِن كُلِّ كَرْبٍۢ ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ Say: "He is capable of raising up against you a punishment, from above you or from beneath your feet, or of mixing you into rival factions, and making some of you taste the violence of others."
قُلْ هُوَ ٱلْقَادِرُ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابًۭا مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعًۭا وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُم بَأْسَ بَعْضٍLook how We diversify the signs, perhaps they will understand.
ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُونَBut your people have denied it, though it is the truth.
وَكَذَّبَ بِهِۦ قَوْمُكَ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَقُّSay: "I am not, for you, a trustee.
قُل لَّسْتُ عَلَيْكُم بِوَكِيلٍۢEvery piece of information has a place of fulfillment,
لِّكُلِّ نَبَإٍۢ مُّسْتَقَرٌّۭand you will soon know."
وَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَAnd when you see those who wade into idle talk about Our signs, turn away from them, until they move on to another subject.
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخُوضُونَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَخُوضُوا۟ فِى حَدِيثٍ غَيْرِهِۦAnd if the Diverter makes you forget, do not remain, after this reminder, with the wrongdoing people.
وَإِمَّا يُنسِيَنَّكَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَAnd nothing, of the account of those who guard themselves, is incumbent upon them,
وَمَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢexcept a reminder, perhaps they will guard themselves.
وَلَٰكِن ذِكْرَىٰ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَAnd leave those who have taken their Law for distraction and play, and whom the present life has deceived.
وَذَرِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًۭا وَلَهْوًۭا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَاAnd remind by it, lest a Self be delivered [to ruin] for what it has earned, having, besides God, neither protector nor intercessor;
وَذَكِّرْ بِهِۦٓ أَن تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌۢ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِىٌّۭ وَلَا شَفِيعٌۭand even if it offered every compensation, it would not be accepted from it.
وَإِن تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍۢ لَّا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَآThose are the ones who will have been delivered [to ruin] for what they have earned; they will have a scalding drink and a painful punishment, for having disowned.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُوا۟ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌۭ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَSay: "Should we invoke, besides God, what neither benefits nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after God has guided us, like one whom the diverters have lured on earth, bewildered,
قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَwhile he has companions who call him to guidance: Come to us?"
لَهُۥٓ أَصْحَٰبٌۭ يَدْعُونَهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱلْهُدَى ٱئْتِنَاSay: "The guidance of God, that is the [true] guidance; and we have been commanded to be true to the Guardian of all beings alone, and to maintain the Contact, and to guard ourselves toward Him."
قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ هُوَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَأُمِرْنَا لِنُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ وَأَنْ أَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّقُوهُAnd it is to Him that you will be gathered.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَIt is He who created the heavens and the earth in truth,
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّand the day He says: "Be",
وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُنit is.
فَيَكُونُHis word is the truth,
قَوْلُهُ ٱلْحَقُّand to Him belongs the dominion,
وَلَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُthe day the Horn is blown.
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِKnower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest,
عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِHe is the Wise, the Informed.
وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُAnd remember when Ibrahim said to his father Azar: "Do you take idols as deities?
وَإِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِيمُ لِأَبِيهِ ءَازَرَ أَتَتَّخِذُ أَصْنَامًا ءَالِهَةًI see you indeed, you and your people, in manifest error."
إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكَ وَقَوْمَكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢThus did We show Ibrahim the sovereign dominion of the heavens and the earth, that he might be among those who possess certainty.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُرِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ مَلَكُوتَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُوقِنِينَWhen the night enveloped him, he saw a star; he said: "This is my guardian";
فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلَّيْلُ رَءَا كَوْكَبًۭا قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّىbut when it disappeared, he said: "I do not love those that disappear."
فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَ قَالَ لَآ أُحِبُّ ٱلْءَافِلِينَThen, when he saw the moon rising, he said: "This is my guardian";
فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلْقَمَرَ بَازِغًۭا قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّىbut when it disappeared, he said: "If my Guardian does not guide me, I will certainly be among the astray people."
فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَ قَالَ لَئِن لَّمْ يَهْدِنِى رَبِّى لَأَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلضَّآلِّينَThen, when he saw the sun rising, he said: "This is my guardian, this one is greater";
فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلشَّمْسَ بَازِغَةًۭ قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّى هَٰذَآ أَكْبَرُbut when it disappeared, he said: "O my people! I am clear of what you associate [with Him].
فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَتْ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَI have set my direction, without deviation, toward the One who originated the heavens and the earth,
إِنِّى وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّذِى فَطَرَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًۭاand I am not among those who associate."
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَAnd his people disputed with him.
وَحَآجَّهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ- 6:80ورش
He said: "Do you dispute with me about God, when He has guided me?
قَالَ أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّى فِى ٱللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنِ And I do not fear what you associate with Him, unless my Guardian wills something.
وَلَآ أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ رَبِّى شَيْـًۭٔاMy Guardian encompasses all things in His knowledge.
وَسِعَ رَبِّى كُلَّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًاWill you not then remember?
أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَAnd how should I fear what you associate [with Him],
وَكَيْفَ أَخَافُ مَآ أَشْرَكْتُمْwhile you do not fear having associated with God that for which He has sent down upon you no authority?
وَلَا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُم بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِۦ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَٰنًۭاWhich of the two groups, then, is more worthy of security, if you know?"
فَأَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِٱلْأَمْنِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَThose who have believed and have not mixed their faith with any injustice — those are the ones who have security, and they let themselves be guided.
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَلْبِسُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنَهُم بِظُلْمٍ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱلْأَمْنُ وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَAnd that is Our argument, which We gave to Ibrahim against his people.
وَتِلْكَ حُجَّتُنَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ- 6:83ورش
We raise in degrees whom We will.
نَرْفَعُ دَرَجَٰتٍۢ مَّن نَّشَآءُ Your Guardian is indeed Wise, All-Knowing.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌۭAnd We gave him Ishaq and Yaacoub;
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَWe guided them both.
كُلًّا هَدَيْنَاAnd Nuh, We had guided him before;
وَنُوحًا هَدَيْنَا مِن قَبْلُand among his descendants, Dawud, Sulayman, Ayyub, Youssof, Moussa, and Harun.
وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِۦ دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَيُّوبَ وَيُوسُفَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَThus do We recompense those who do good.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ- 6:85ورش
And Zakariya, Yahya, Issa, and Ilyas —
وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحْيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلْيَاسَ all are among the righteous.
كُلٌّۭ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَAnd Isma'il, Al-Yasa', Younes, and Lut —
وَإِسْمَٰعِيلَ وَٱلْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًۭاand all of them, We favored above all beings.
وَكُلًّۭا فَضَّلْنَا عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَAnd among their ancestors, their descendants, and their brothers —
وَمِنْ ءَابَآئِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّٰتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَٰنِهِمْWe chose them, and We guided them to a straight path.
وَٱجْتَبَيْنَٰهُمْ وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢThat is the guidance of God, by which He guides whom He wills among His obedient ones.
ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهْدِى بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦAnd had they associated, what they were doing would have collapsed for them.
وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ- 6:89ورشقالون
Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture, the judgment, and the prophecy.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْحُكْمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ So if these [the disowners] disown it, We have already entrusted it to a people who are not disowners of it.
فَإِن يَكْفُرْ بِهَا هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ فَقَدْ وَكَّلْنَا بِهَا قَوْمًۭا لَّيْسُوا۟ بِهَا بِكَٰفِرِينَThose are the ones God has guided; follow, then, their guidance.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ فَبِهُدَىٰهُمُ ٱقْتَدِهْSay: "I do not ask you, for this, any reward.
قُل لَّآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًاIt is only a reminder for all beings."
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَٰلَمِينَThey did not measure God with His true measure, when they said: "God has sent nothing down upon a human."
وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦٓ إِذْ قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ بَشَرٍۢ مِّن شَىْءٍۢSay: "Who sent down the Scripture that Moussa brought, a light and a guidance for mankind,
قُلْ مَنْ أَنزَلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَ بِهِۦ مُوسَىٰ نُورًۭا وَهُدًۭى لِّلنَّاسِ- 6:91البزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
which you put on parchments, showing some and hiding much —
تَجْعَلُونَهُۥ قَرَاطِيسَ تُبْدُونَهَا وَتُخْفُونَ كَثِيرًۭا and you were taught what you did not know, neither you nor your ancestors?" Say: "God";
وَعُلِّمْتُم مَّا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنتُمْ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ قُلِ ٱللَّهُthen leave them, in their vain talk, to amuse themselves.
ثُمَّ ذَرْهُمْ فِى خَوْضِهِمْ يَلْعَبُونَ- 6:92شعبة
And here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed, confirming what precedes it, so that you may warn the metropolis of cities and those around it.
وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ مُبَارَكٌۭ مُّصَدِّقُ ٱلَّذِى بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَلِتُنذِرَ أُمَّ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا Those who believe in the last life believe in it, and they are watchful over their Contact.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَWho is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or says: "It has been revealed to me", when nothing has been revealed to him, and one who says: "I will send down the like of what God has sent down"?
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ قَالَ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ وَلَمْ يُوحَ إِلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ وَمَن قَالَ سَأُنزِلُ مِثْلَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُAnd if you could see, when the wrongdoers are in the throes of death, and the Agents stretch out their hands: "Bring forth your Self.
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ فِى غَمَرَٰتِ ٱلْمَوْتِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ بَاسِطُوٓا۟ أَيْدِيهِمْ أَخْرِجُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمُToday, you will be recompensed with the punishment of humiliation, for having said about God other than the truth, and for having been arrogant before His signs."
ٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ وَكُنتُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَHere you have come to Us alone, as We created you the first time, and you have left behind what We had entrusted you with;
وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَٰدَىٰ كَمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ وَتَرَكْتُم مَّا خَوَّلْنَٰكُمْ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِكُمْand We do not see with you your intercessors, whom you claimed to be associates among you.
وَمَا نَرَىٰ مَعَكُمْ شُفَعَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ أَنَّهُمْ فِيكُمْ شُرَكَٰٓؤُا۟The bonds between you are indeed severed, and what you claimed has strayed away from you.
لَقَد تَّقَطَّعَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنكُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَGod is indeed He who splits open the seed and the kernel.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَالِقُ ٱلْحَبِّ وَٱلنَّوَىٰHe brings forth the living from the dead, and He brings forth the dead from the living.
يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَمُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتِ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّThat is God.
ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُHow then can you be turned away?
فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ- 6:96ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
He who splits open the dawn, and who made the night a rest,
فَالِقُ ٱلْإِصْبَاحِ وَجَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ سَكَنًۭا and of the sun and the moon, a reckoning.
وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ حُسْبَانًۭاThat is the measure set by the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing.
ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِAnd it is He who made for you the stars, so that you might guide yourselves by them in the darknesses of land and sea.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلنُّجُومَ لِتَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهَا فِى ظُلُمَٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِWe have indeed detailed the signs for a people who know.
قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَAnd it is He who brought you forth from a single Self — then a dwelling and a repository.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍۢ وَٰحِدَةٍۢ فَمُسْتَقَرٌّۭ وَمُسْتَوْدَعٌۭWe have indeed detailed the signs for a people who understand.
قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَفْقَهُونَAnd it is He who sent down water from the sky, and We brought forth by it the vegetation of every kind, and We brought forth from it a greenery, from which We bring forth grain in clustered ears, and, from the palm tree, from its spathe, clusters within reach, and gardens of vines, the olive and the pomegranate, resembling and not resembling.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ نَبَاتَ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ فَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهُ خَضِرًۭا نُّخْرِجُ مِنْهُ حَبًّۭا مُّتَرَاكِبًۭا وَمِنَ ٱلنَّخْلِ مِن طَلْعِهَا قِنْوَانٌۭ دَانِيَةٌۭ وَجَنَّٰتٍۢ مِّنْ أَعْنَابٍۢ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُشْتَبِهًۭا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍLook at its fruit, when it bears fruit, and its ripening.
ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓThere are surely signs in that for a people who believe.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكُمْ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُؤْمِنُونَAnd they made, of the Occulted, associates to God, though He created them;
وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ ٱلْجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمْ- 6:100ورش
and they falsely attributed to Him, without any knowledge, sons and daughters.
وَخَرَقُوا۟ لَهُۥ بَنِينَ وَبَنَٰتٍۭ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ Glory be to Him! He is far above what they describe.
سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَUnprecedented Creator of the heavens and the earth.
بَدِيعُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِHow would He have a child, when He has no companion,
أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُۥ وَلَدٌۭ وَلَمْ تَكُن لَّهُۥ صَٰحِبَةٌۭand He created every thing,
وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢand He is All-Knowing of all things?
وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌۭThat is God, your Guardian.
ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْThere is no deity but Him,
لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَCreator of every thing;
خَٰلِقُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢobey Him, then.
فَٱعْبُدُوهُHe is, over all things, a trustee.
وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَكِيلٌۭSights do not reach Him,
لَّا تُدْرِكُهُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُbut He reaches sights.
وَهُوَ يُدْرِكُ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرَHe is the Subtle, the Informed.
وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُInsights have indeed come to you from your Guardian.
قَدْ جَآءَكُم بَصَآئِرُ مِن رَّبِّكُمْWhoever sees clearly, it is for himself; and whoever remains blind, it is to his own detriment.
فَمَنْ أَبْصَرَ فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ عَمِىَ فَعَلَيْهَاAnd I am not, for you, a guardian.
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍۢ- 6:105البزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
And thus do We diversify the signs; and so that they say: "You have studied [all this]", and so that We may make it clear for a people who know.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ وَلِيَقُولُوا۟ دَرَسْتَ وَلِنُبَيِّنَهُۥ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَ Follow what is revealed to you from your Guardian.
ٱتَّبِعْ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَThere is no deity but Him,
لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَand turn away from those who associate.
وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَHad God willed, they would not have associated.
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشْرَكُوا۟And We have not made you their guardian,
وَمَا جَعَلْنَٰكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًۭاand you are not for them a trustee.
وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍۢAnd do not insult those they invoke besides God, lest they insult God out of hostility, without knowledge.
وَلَا تَسُبُّوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَسُبُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَدْوًۢا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢThus have We embellished, for every community, its deeds;
كَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْthen to their Guardian will be their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.
ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَAnd they swore by God, with the utmost strength of their oaths, that if a sign came to them, they would certainly believe in it.
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ لَئِن جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَةٌۭ لَّيُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهَاSay: "The signs are only with God";
قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْءَايَٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِand what makes you perceive
وَمَا يُشْعِرُكُمْthat, even coming, they would not believe in it?
أَنَّهَآ إِذَا جَآءَتْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَAnd We turn about their Consciences and their sights, as they did not believe in it the first time, and We leave them, in their excess, to wander blindly.
وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفْـِٔدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَٰرَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهِۦٓ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ وَنَذَرُهُمْ فِى طُغْيَٰنِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ- 6:111ورش
And even had We sent down to them the Agents, and the dead had spoken to them, and We had gathered before them everything, face to face, they would not have believed, unless God willed it;
وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا نَزَّلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ وَكَلَّمَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَحَشَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۢ قُبُلًۭا مَّا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ but most of them are ignorant.
وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَجْهَلُونَ- 6:112ورشقالون
And thus have We assigned to every prophet an enemy: the diverters among humans and the Occulted, who inspire one another with embellished speech, by deception.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّۭا شَيَٰطِينَ ٱلْإِنسِ وَٱلْجِنِّ يُوحِى بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ زُخْرُفَ ٱلْقَوْلِ غُرُورًۭا And had your Guardian willed, they would not have done it;
وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُleave them, then, and what they invent.
فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَAnd [this,] so that the Consciences of those who do not believe in the last life may incline toward it, and that they may be satisfied with it, and commit what they are to commit.
وَلِتَصْغَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ أَفْـِٔدَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلِيَرْضَوْهُ وَلِيَقْتَرِفُوا۟ مَا هُم مُّقْتَرِفُونَShould I then seek a judge other than God, when it is He who sent down to you the Scripture, detailed?
أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْتَغِى حَكَمًۭا وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ إِلَيْكُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مُفَصَّلًۭا- 6:114ورش
And those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it was sent down from your Guardian in truth;
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُۥ مُنَزَّلٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ so never be among those who doubt.
فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ- 6:115ورشقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
And the word of your Guardian has been fulfilled, in truth and in justice.
وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًۭا وَعَدْلًۭا No [force] can change His words,
لَّا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦand He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُAnd if you obey most of those on the earth, they will lead you astray from the path of God.
وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِThey follow nothing but conjecture,
إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّand they do nothing but engage in baseless guesswork.
وَإِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَYour Guardian knows best who strays from His path,
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ مَن يَضِلُّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦand He knows best those who let themselves be guided.
وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَEat, then, of that over which the name of God has been mentioned, if you are believers in His signs.
فَكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِن كُنتُم بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَAnd what is with you that you should not eat of that over which the name of God has been mentioned, when He has detailed for you what He has forbidden you, except what you are compelled to?
وَمَا لَكُمْ أَلَّا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا ذُكِرَ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ فَصَّلَ لَكُم مَّا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا مَا ٱضْطُرِرْتُمْ إِلَيْهِ- 6:119ورش
And many lead [others] astray by their emotions, without knowledge.
وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا لَّيُضِلُّونَ بِأَهْوَآئِهِم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ Your Guardian knows best those who cross the limits.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُعْتَدِينَAnd forsake transgression, apparent and hidden.
وَذَرُوا۟ ظَٰهِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُۥٓThose who acquire transgression will be recompensed for what they used to commit.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْسِبُونَ ٱلْإِثْمَ سَيُجْزَوْنَ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَقْتَرِفُونَAnd do not eat of that over which the name of God has not been mentioned: it is surely an overstepping.
وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا۟ مِمَّا لَمْ يُذْكَرِ ٱسْمُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِسْقٌۭAnd the diverters surely inspire their allies to argue with you;
وَإِنَّ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ لَيُوحُونَ إِلَىٰٓ أَوْلِيَآئِهِمْ لِيُجَٰدِلُوكُمْand if you obeyed them, you would surely be among those who associate.
وَإِنْ أَطَعْتُمُوهُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَمُشْرِكُونَ- 6:122ورشالسوسي
Is he who was dead, and to whom We gave life, and for whom We made a light with which he walks among people, like him whose likeness is to be in darknesses, unable to emerge from them?
أَوَمَن كَانَ مَيْتًۭا فَأَحْيَيْنَٰهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُۥ نُورًۭا يَمْشِى بِهِۦ فِى ٱلنَّاسِ كَمَن مَّثَلُهُۥ فِى ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍۢ مِّنْهَا Thus were embellished, for those who disown, the deeds they used to do.
كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَAnd thus have We placed, in every city, the greatest of its severed, so that they might plot there;
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَٰبِرَ مُجْرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُوا۟ فِيهَاbut they plot only against themselves, without perceiving it.
وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَAnd when a sign comes to them, they say: "We will not believe, until we are given the like of what was given to the messengers of God."
وَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَةٌۭ قَالُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّىٰ نُؤْتَىٰ مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِىَ رُسُلُ ٱللَّهِ- 6:124ورششعبةقالونالدوريالسوسي
God knows best where to place His message.
ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُۥ A diminishment before God, and a severe punishment, will befall those who cut themselves off, for having plotted.
سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ صَغَارٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعَذَابٌۭ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَمْكُرُونَWhomever God wants to guide, He opens his chest to being true to God alone;
فَمَن يُرِدِ ٱللَّهُ أَن يَهْدِيَهُۥ يَشْرَحْ صَدْرَهُۥ لِلْإِسْلَٰمِ- 6:125ورششعبة
and whomever He wants to lead astray, He makes his chest narrow and constricted, as if he were ascending into the sky.
وَمَن يُرِدْ أَن يُضِلَّهُۥ يَجْعَلْ صَدْرَهُۥ ضَيِّقًا حَرَجًۭا كَأَنَّمَا يَصَّعَّدُ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ Thus does God place defilement upon those who do not believe.
كَذَٰلِكَ يَجْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّجْسَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَAnd that is the path of your Guardian, straight.
وَهَٰذَا صِرَٰطُ رَبِّكَ مُسْتَقِيمًۭاWe have indeed detailed the signs for a people who remember.
قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍۢ يَذَّكَّرُونَThey have the Abode of Peace, with their Guardian,
لَهُمْ دَارُ ٱلسَّلَٰمِ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْand He is their protector, for what they used to do.
وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ- 6:128ورششعبةقالونالبزيقنبلالدوريالسوسي
And the day He gathers them all: "O assembly of the Occulted! you have indeed made much use of humans";
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًۭا يَٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ قَدِ ٱسْتَكْثَرْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ and their allies among humans will say: "Our Guardian, we enjoyed one another, and we have reached our term, the one You had set for us."
وَقَالَ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْإِنسِ رَبَّنَا ٱسْتَمْتَعَ بَعْضُنَا بِبَعْضٍۢ وَبَلَغْنَآ أَجَلَنَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَجَّلْتَ لَنَاHe will say: "The Fire is your abode, you abide therein eternally" — except what God wills.
قَالَ ٱلنَّارُ مَثْوَىٰكُمْ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُYour Guardian is indeed Wise, All-Knowing.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌۭAnd thus do We make the wrongdoers allies to one another, for what they used to earn.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُوَلِّى بَعْضَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَعْضًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ"O assembly of the Occulted and humans! did messengers from among you not come to you, relating My signs to you and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours?"
يَٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌۭ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَاThey will say: "We bear witness against ourselves";
قَالُوا۟ شَهِدْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِنَاand the present life deceived them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disowning.
وَغَرَّتْهُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَشَهِدُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ كَٰفِرِينَThat is because it is not in the nature of your Guardian to annihilate cities unjustly, while their inhabitants were heedless.
ذَٰلِكَ أَن لَّمْ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍۢ وَأَهْلُهَا غَٰفِلُونَAnd to each, degrees, according to what they did.
وَلِكُلٍّۢ دَرَجَٰتٌۭ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟And your Guardian is not heedless of what they do.
وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعْمَلُونَAnd your Guardian is self-sufficient, possessor of benevolence.
وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ذُو ٱلرَّحْمَةِIf He wills, He makes you disappear, and He makes succeed after you what He wills, as He brought you forth from the descendants of another people.
إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِنۢ بَعْدِكُم مَّا يَشَآءُ كَمَآ أَنشَأَكُم مِّن ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ ءَاخَرِينَWhat is promised to you will surely come,
إِنَّ مَا تُوعَدُونَ لَءَاتٍۢand you will not be able to render [Him] powerless.
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ- 6:135شعبة
Say: "O my people! act according to your position; I too am acting.
قُلْ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَامِلٌۭ You will soon know to whom will belong the happy end of the abode.
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلدَّارِThe wrongdoers indeed do not succeed."
إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَAnd they assigned to God, of what He scattered as crops and cattle, a share, saying: "This is for God" — according to their claim — "and this is for our associates";
وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ مِمَّا ذَرَأَ مِنَ ٱلْحَرْثِ وَٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ نَصِيبًۭا فَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا لِلَّهِ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَهَٰذَا لِشُرَكَآئِنَاand what is destined for their associates does not reach God,
فَمَا كَانَ لِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ فَلَا يَصِلُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِwhile what is destined for God, that reaches their associates.
وَمَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ فَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَىٰ شُرَكَآئِهِمْHow evil is what they decide!
سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَAnd thus have their associates embellished, for many of the associators, the killing of their children, so as to ruin them and confuse their Law for them.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَٰدِهِمْ شُرَكَآؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْAnd had God willed, they would not have done it;
وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُleave them, then, and what they invent.
فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَAnd they said: "This is cattle and crops forbidden: none shall eat of them, except whom we wish" — according to their claim — "and cattle whose backs are made forbidden", and cattle over which they do not mention the name of God, in invention against Him.
وَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَنْعَٰمٌۭ وَحَرْثٌ حِجْرٌۭ لَّا يَطْعَمُهَآ إِلَّا مَن نَّشَآءُ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَأَنْعَٰمٌ حُرِّمَتْ ظُهُورُهَا وَأَنْعَٰمٌۭ لَّا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَيْهِHe will recompense them for what they used to invent.
سَيَجْزِيهِم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَAnd they said: "What is in the belly of this cattle is reserved exclusively for our males, and forbidden to our wives";
وَقَالُوا۟ مَا فِى بُطُونِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ خَالِصَةٌۭ لِّذُكُورِنَا وَمُحَرَّمٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِنَا- 6:139شعبة
but if it is a stillborn, they all share in it.
وَإِن يَكُن مَّيْتَةًۭ فَهُمْ فِيهِ شُرَكَآءُ He will recompense them for their attribution.
سَيَجْزِيهِمْ وَصْفَهُمْHe is indeed Wise, All-Knowing.
إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌۭThey are indeed losers, those who killed their children out of foolishness, without knowledge, and who forbade what God had provided them as sustenance, in invention against God.
قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَتَلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَهُمْ سَفَهًۢا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَحَرَّمُوا۟ مَا رَزَقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَى ٱللَّهِThey went astray, and they did not let themselves be guided.
قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُهْتَدِينَAnd it is He who brought forth gardens, trellised and untrellised, as well as the palm tree and crops, of varied produce, and the olive and the pomegranate, resembling and not resembling.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَ جَنَّٰتٍۢ مَّعْرُوشَٰتٍۢ وَغَيْرَ مَعْرُوشَٰتٍۢ وَٱلنَّخْلَ وَٱلزَّرْعَ مُخْتَلِفًا أُكُلُهُۥ وَٱلزَّيْتُونَ وَٱلرُّمَّانَ مُتَشَٰبِهًۭا وَغَيْرَ مُتَشَٰبِهٍۢ- 6:141ورش
Eat of its fruit, when it bears fruit, and pay its due, on the day of its harvest,
كُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَءَاتُوا۟ حَقَّهُۥ يَوْمَ حَصَادِهِۦ but do not waste:
وَلَا تُسْرِفُوٓا۟He indeed does not love the wasteful.
إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَAnd among the cattle, there are the beasts of burden and those of the fleece.
وَمِنَ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ حَمُولَةًۭ وَفَرْشًۭاEat of what God has provided you as sustenance,
كُلُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ- 6:142ورش
and do not follow the footsteps of the Diverter:
وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ he is indeed for you a manifest enemy.
إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭEight [head], in pairs:
ثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَزْوَٰجٍۢof sheep, two, and of goats, two.
مِّنَ ٱلضَّأْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْمَعْزِ ٱثْنَيْنِSay: "Is it the two males He has forbidden, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain?
قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِInform me with full knowledge, if you are truthful."
نَبِّـُٔونِى بِعِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَAnd of camelids, two, and of cattle, two.
وَمِنَ ٱلْإِبِلِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ ٱثْنَيْنِSay: "Is it the two males He has forbidden, or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females contain?
قُلْ ءَآلذَّكَرَيْنِ حَرَّمَ أَمِ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِ أَمَّا ٱشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ ٱلْأُنثَيَيْنِOr were you witnesses, when God prescribed this to you?"
أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ وَصَّىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَاWho is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, to lead people astray without knowledge?
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا لِّيُضِلَّ ٱلنَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍGod indeed does not guide the wrongdoing people.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ- 6:145البزيقنبل
Say: "I find, in what has been revealed to me, nothing forbidden to one who wants to eat it, except that it be a dead animal, or spilled blood, or the flesh of swine — for that is a defilement —
قُل لَّآ أَجِدُ فِى مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَىٰ طَاعِمٍۢ يَطْعَمُهُۥٓ إِلَّآ أَن يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًۭا مَّسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنزِيرٍۢ فَإِنَّهُۥ رِجْسٌ or an overstepping consecrated to other than God.
أَوْ فِسْقًا أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦBut whoever is compelled to it, without being rebellious or crossing the limits — your Guardian is indeed Most-Forgiving, Benevolent."
فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍۢ وَلَا عَادٍۢ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭAnd to the Reoriented, We forbade every [animal] with an uncloven hoof: and of cattle and sheep,
وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا كُلَّ ذِى ظُفُرٍۢ وَمِنَ ٱلْبَقَرِ وَٱلْغَنَمِWe forbade them their fats, except what their backs carry, or the entrails, or what is mixed with a bone.
حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ شُحُومَهُمَآ إِلَّا مَا حَمَلَتْ ظُهُورُهُمَآ أَوِ ٱلْحَوَايَآ أَوْ مَا ٱخْتَلَطَ بِعَظْمٍۢThus did We recompense them for their aggression,
ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيْنَٰهُم بِبَغْيِهِمْand We are surely truthful.
وَإِنَّا لَصَٰدِقُونَIf they deny you, say then: "Your Guardian is possessor of a vast benevolence,
فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍۢ وَٰسِعَةٍۢand His rigor will not be turned away from the severed people."
وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُۥ عَنِ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَThose who have associated will say: "Had God willed, we would not have associated, nor would our ancestors, and we would not have forbidden anything."
سَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا۟ لَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَآ أَشْرَكْنَا وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِن شَىْءٍۢThus did those before them deny, until they tasted Our rigor.
كَذَٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ ذَاقُوا۟ بَأْسَنَاSay: "Do you have any knowledge, that you could bring forth for us?
قُلْ هَلْ عِندَكُم مِّنْ عِلْمٍۢ فَتُخْرِجُوهُ لَنَآYou follow nothing but conjecture,
إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّand you do nothing but engage in baseless guesswork."
وَإِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَخْرُصُونَSay: "To God belongs the conclusive argument.
قُلْ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحُجَّةُ ٱلْبَٰلِغَةُHad He willed, He would have guided you all."
فَلَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدَىٰكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَSay: "Bring your witnesses, those who testify that God has forbidden this."
قُلْ هَلُمَّ شُهَدَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْهَدُونَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ حَرَّمَ هَٰذَاIf they testify, do not testify with them,
فَإِن شَهِدُوا۟ فَلَا تَشْهَدْ مَعَهُمْand do not follow the emotions of those who have denied Our signs, and of those who do not believe in the last life, and who set up equals to their Guardian.
وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَSay: "Come, let me recite what your Guardian has forbidden you: do not associate anything with Him;
قُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَلَّا تُشْرِكُوا۟ بِهِۦ شَيْـًۭٔاbeneficence toward both parents;
وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَٰنًۭاand do not kill your children out of poverty —
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَكُم مِّنْ إِمْلَٰقٍۢit is We who provide for you, and for them;
نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْand do not approach indecencies, apparent or hidden;
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَand do not kill the Self that God has made inviolable, except by right;
وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا۟ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّthat is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will reason.
ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَAnd do not approach the goods of the orphan, except in the best way, until he reaches his full maturity;
وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥand give full measure and full weight, with equity —
وَأَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِWe impose upon no Self except its capacity —
لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَاand when you speak, be just, even toward a relative;
وَإِذَا قُلْتُمْ فَٱعْدِلُوا۟ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰand keep the engagement of God:
وَبِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْفُوا۟- 6:152ورش
that is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will remember.
ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ And: this is My path, straight; follow it, then,
وَأَنَّ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطِى مُسْتَقِيمًۭا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُand do not follow the [other] paths, which would scatter you away from His path:
وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلسُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦthat is what He has recommended to you, perhaps you will guard yourselves.
ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَThen We gave Moussa the Scripture, as a fulfillment toward him who does good, as a detail of every thing, as a guidance and a benevolence, that they might believe in the meeting with their Guardian.
ثُمَّ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ تَمَامًا عَلَى ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْسَنَ وَتَفْصِيلًۭا لِّكُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَAnd here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed; follow it, then, and guard yourselves, perhaps benevolence will be shown to you — lest you say: "The Scripture was sent down only upon two groups before us, and we were indeed heedless of their study", or lest you say: "Had the Scripture been sent down upon us, we would have been better guided than they."
وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ مُبَارَكٌۭ فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ أَن تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ عَلَىٰ طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَٰفِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَكُنَّآ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمْA clear proof has thus come to you from your Guardian, as well as a guidance and a benevolence.
فَقَدْ جَآءَكُم بَيِّنَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةٌۭWho is then more unjust than one who has denied the signs of God and turned away from them?
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَاWe will recompense those who turn away from Our signs with the worst punishment, for having turned away from them.
سَنَجْزِى ٱلَّذِينَ يَصْدِفُونَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا سُوٓءَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَصْدِفُونَDo they await only that the Agents come to them, or that your Guardian come, or that some signs of your Guardian come?
هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ بَعْضُ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكَOn the day certain signs of your Guardian come, the faith of a Self will not benefit it, if it did not believe before, or acquired, in its faith, no good.
يَوْمَ يَأْتِى بَعْضُ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكَ لَا يَنفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَٰنُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ ءَامَنَتْ مِن قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِىٓ إِيمَٰنِهَا خَيْرًۭاSay: "Wait:
قُلِ ٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟we are indeed waiting."
إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَThose who have divided their Law and become sects, you are in no way linked to them.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًۭا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍTheir matter rests only with God,
إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِthen He will inform them of what they used to do.
ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَWhoever comes with the good deed has a right to ten times its equivalent,
مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَاand whoever comes with the evil deed is recompensed only with its equivalent, without being wronged.
وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَىٰٓ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَSay: "My Guardian has guided me to a straight path,
قُلْ إِنَّنِى هَدَىٰنِى رَبِّىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ- 6:161ورش
an upright Law, the doctrine of Ibrahim, wholly turned toward God;
دِينًۭا قِيَمًۭا مِّلَّةَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ حَنِيفًۭا and he was not among those who associate."
وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ- 6:163ورش
Say: "My Contact, my beneficent commitment, my life, and my death belong to God, Guardian of all beings; no associate to Him.
قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِى وَنُسُكِى وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِى لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُۥ And thus have I been commanded,
وَبِذَٰلِكَ أُمِرْتُand I am the first of those true to God alone."
وَأَنَا۠ أَوَّلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَSay: "Should I seek a Guardian other than God, when He is the Guardian of every thing?"
قُلْ أَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ أَبْغِى رَبًّۭا وَهُوَ رَبُّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢAnd every Self acquires [evil] only to its own detriment,
وَلَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ إِلَّا عَلَيْهَاand no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.
وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌۭ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰThen to your Guardian will be your return, and He will inform you of what you used to differ over.
ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُم مَّرْجِعُكُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَAnd it is He who made you successors on the earth, and raised some of you above others in degrees, so as to test you in what He has given you.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَكُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍۢ دَرَجَٰتٍۢ لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْYour Guardian is indeed swift in sanction,
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْعِقَابِand He is surely Most-Forgiving, Benevolent.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۢ
