سورة 63
۞
Al-Munafiqun
-
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. When the hypocrites come to you, they say: We testify that you are indeed the messenger of God.i 1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ قَالُوا۟ نَشْهَدُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ -
And God knows that you are indeed His messenger. 1
وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّكَ لَرَسُولُهُۥ -
And God testifies that the hypocrites are surely liars. 1
وَٱللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَكَٰذِبُونَ -
They have taken their oaths as a shield and turned [people] away from the way of God. 2
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُمْ جُنَّةًۭ فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ -
How evil is what they used to do! 2
إِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ -
That is because they believed, then denied; so a seal was set upon their cores, and they do not understand. 3
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ ثُمَّ كَفَرُوا۟ فَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ -
And when you see them, their appearance pleases you, 4
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ أَجْسَامُهُمْ -
and if they speak, you listen to their speech; they are like propped-up pieces of wood. 4
وَإِن يَقُولُوا۟ تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌۭ مُّسَنَّدَةٌۭ -
They think every shout is against them. 4
يَحْسَبُونَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ -
They are the enemy. 4
هُمُ ٱلْعَدُوُّ -
So beware of them. 4
فَٱحْذَرْهُمْ -
May God destroy them! 4
قَٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ -
How are they deluded! 4
أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ -
And when it is said to them: Come, that the messenger of God may ask forgiveness for you, they turn their heads aside, and you see them withdrawing while they are arrogant. 5
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا۟ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ لَوَّوْا۟ رُءُوسَهُمْ وَرَأَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّونَ وَهُم مُّسْتَكْبِرُونَ -
It is the same for them whether you ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them. 6
سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ -
God will never forgive them. 6
لَن يَغْفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ -
Indeed, God does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 6
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ -
They are the ones who say: Do not spend on those who are with the messenger of God until they disperse. 7
هُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ لَا تُنفِقُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَنْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ حَتَّىٰ يَنفَضُّوا۟ -
But to God belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth, 7
وَلِلَّهِ خَزَآئِنُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ -
but the hypocrites do not understand. 7
وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ -
They say: If we return to the Capital, the more honorable will surely expel the more despicable therefrom. 8
يَقُولُونَ لَئِن رَّجَعْنَآ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ ٱلْأَعَزُّ مِنْهَا ٱلْأَذَلَّ -
But to God belongs honor, and to His messenger, and to the believers, 8
وَلِلَّهِ ٱلْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِۦ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ -
but the hypocrites do not know. 8
وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ -
O you who believe! Let not your wealth or your children distract you from the remembrance of God. 9
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ -
And whoever does that — those are the losers. 9
وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ -
And spend from what We have provided you before death comes to one of you, and he says: My Guardian, if only You would delay me for a short term, that I might give charity and be among the righteous. 10
وَأَنفِقُوا۟ مِن مَّا رَزَقْنَٰكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ أَحَدَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتُ فَيَقُولَ رَبِّ لَوْلَآ أَخَّرْتَنِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ قَرِيبٍۢ فَأَصَّدَّقَ وَأَكُن مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ -
But God will never delay a Self when its term has come. 11
وَلَن يُؤَخِّرَ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهَا -
And God is Well Acquainted with what you do. 11
وَٱللَّهُ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ شعبة
