Sourate Al-Ghashiya (88) vowelled

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Has there come to you the account of the Enveloping Event?i 1

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَٰشِيَةِ

Some faces, that Day, will be humbled, worn out, exhausted. They will burn in a scorching fire, given drink from a boiling spring. 5

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ عَامِلَةٌۭ نَّاصِبَةٌۭ تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةًۭ تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍۢ

They will have no food except from a bitter thorny plant, which neither nourishes nor satisfies hunger. 7

لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍۢ لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍۢ

Some faces, that Day, will be radiant, pleased with their effort, in an elevated garden, where they will hear no vain talk. 11

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاعِمَةٌۭ لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۭ فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۢ لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةًۭ

البزي قنبل الدوري السوسي

Therein is a flowing spring. 12

فِيهَا عَيْنٌۭ جَارِيَةٌۭ

Therein are raised couches, and cups set out, and cushions lined up, and carpets spread out. 16

فِيهَا سُرُرٌۭ مَّرْفُوعَةٌۭ وَأَكْوَابٌۭ مَّوْضُوعَةٌۭ وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌۭ وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ

Do they not look at the camels, how they were created? And at the sky, how it was raised? And at the mountains, how they were set up? And at the earth, how it was spread out? 20

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ

So remind; you are only a reminder. 21

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌۭ

You have no power to compel them. 22

لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ

Except one who turns away and rejects the truth — God will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ

To Us is their return, then upon Us is their reckoning. 26

إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
