Sourate Al-Balad (90) vowelled

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. No! I swear by this city, and you are a resident in it, and by a father and what he begot! We have certainly created man in hardship.i 4

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ وَوَالِدٍۢ وَمَا وَلَدَ لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ

Does he think that no one will ever have power over him? He says, "I have squandered vast wealth!" 6

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌۭ يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًۭا لُّبَدًا

Does he think that no one has seen him? 7

أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

Have We not assigned him two eyes, a tongue, and two lips, and guided him to the two paths? 10

أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ وَلِسَانًۭا وَشَفَتَيْنِ وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ

But he has not plunged into the steep path. 11

فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ

And what can make you know what the steep path is? 12

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

It is freeing someone from a crushing debt, or feeding, on a day of hunger, an orphan near of kin, or a destitute person in privation.i 16

فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ أَوْ إِطْعَٰمٌۭ فِى يَوْمٍۢ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍۢ يَتِيمًۭا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ أَوْ مِسْكِينًۭا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍۢ

البزي قنبل الدوري السوسي

Then, it is being of those who believe and enjoin one another to patience, and enjoin one another to benevolence. 17

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ

Those are the companions of the right. 18

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

But those who denied Our signs, they are the companions of misfortune.i 19

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ

Over them will close a fire. 20

عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌۭ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ
