Al-Mu'minun
Have Attained Success
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. The believers have attained success,
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قد افلح المومنونthose who, in their Contact, are humble,
الذين هم في صلاتهم خشعونand those who turn away from idle talk,
والذين هم عن اللغو معرضونand those who fulfill the purifying alms,
والذين هم للزكوه فعلونand those who guard their private parts, except with their spouses or those bound by pledge — for then they are indeed not blameworthy;
والذين هم لفروجهم حفظون الا علي ازوجهم او ما ملكت ايمنهم فانهم غير ملومينwhoever seeks beyond that — those are the ones who cross the limits.
فمن ابتغي ورا ذلك فاوليك هم العادونand those who are watchful over their trusts and their covenant,
والذين هم لامنتهم وعهدهم رعونAnd those who, toward their Contacts, are watchful — those are the inheritors, who will inherit Paradise,
والذين هم علي صلوتهم يحافظون اوليك هم الورثون الذين يرثون الفردوسabiding therein eternally.
هم فيها خلدونWe created the human being from an extract of clay,
ولقد خلقنا الانسن من سلله من طينthen We made him a drop in a secure receptacle,
ثم جعلنه نطفه في قرار مكينthen We created from the drop a clinging form, then We created from the clinging form a lump, then We created from the lump bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We brought it forth as another creation.
ثم خلقنا النطفه علقه فخلقنا العلقه مضغه فخلقنا المضغه عظما فكسونا العظم لحما ثم انشانه خلقا اخرBlessed is God, the best of creators!
فتبارك الله احسن الخلقينThen, after that, you are destined to die,
ثم انكم بعد ذلك لميتونthen, on the Day of Appearance, you will be resurrected.
ثم انكم يوم القيمه تبعثونWe created above you seven passages,
ولقد خلقنا فوقكم سبع طرايقand We have never been heedless of creation.
وما كنا عن الخلق غفلينWe sent down from the sky water in due measure, and We settled it in the earth —
وانزلنا من السما ما بقدر فاسكنه في الارضand We are surely able to take it away.
وانا علي ذهاب به لقدرونWe thus brought forth for you, through it, gardens of palms and vines, wherein you have abundant fruits and from which you eat, and a tree that comes out of Mount Sinai, producing oil and a condiment for those who eat.
فانشانا لكم به جنت من نخيل واعنب لكم فيها فوكه كثيره ومنها تاكلون وشجره تخرج من طور سينا تنبت بالدهن وصبغ للاكلينAnd there is surely, for you, a lesson in the cattle:
وان لكم في الانعم لعبرهWe give you drink from what is in their bellies,
نسقيكم مما في بطونهاand you have in them many benefits, and you eat from them, and upon them as well as upon ships you are carried.
ولكم فيها منفع كثيره ومنها تاكلون وعليها وعلي الفلك تحملونWe sent Nuh to his people, and he said: O my people, obey God, you have no other deity than Him.
ولقد ارسلنا نوحا الي قومه فقال يقوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من اله غيرهWill you not then guard yourselves?
افلا تتقونThe court of his people, those who disowned, then said: This is nothing but a human like you, who wants to gain superiority over you; had God willed, He would have sent down Agents; we have not heard this among our first ancestors. He is nothing but a man afflicted with derangement — so wait concerning him for a while.
فقال الملوا الذين كفروا من قومه ما هذا الا بشر مثلكم يريد ان يتفضل عليكم ولو شا الله لانزل مليكه ما سمعنا بهذا في اباينا الاولين ان هو الا رجل به جنه فتربصوا به حتي حينHe said [Nuh]: My Guardian, help me, for they have denied me.
قال رب انصرني بما كذبونWe then revealed to him: Build the ark under Our eyes and by Our revelation.
فاوحينا اليه ان اصنع الفلك باعيننا ووحيناThen, when Our command comes and the oven boils over, put into it a pair of every kind, along with your family, except him among them against whom the word has already been pronounced;
فاذا جا امرنا وفار التنور فاسلك فيها من كل زوجين اثنين واهلك الا من سبق عليه القول منهمand do not speak to Me about those who have been unjust: they will indeed be drowned.
ولا تخطبني في الذين ظلموا انهم مغرقونAnd when you are settled, you and those with you, upon the ark, say: Praise be to God who has saved us from the wrongdoing people.
فاذا استويت انت ومن معك علي الفلك فقل الحمد لله الذي نجينا من القوم الظلمينAnd say: My Guardian, grant me a blessed dwelling, for You are the best of those who grant a dwelling.
وقل رب انزلني منزلا مباركا وانت خير المنزلينThere are surely in that signs,
ان في ذلك لايتand We were indeed putting [that people] to the test.
وان كنا لمبتلينThen We brought forth, after them, another generation, and We sent among them a messenger, [one] of themselves: Obey God, you have no other deity than Him.
ثم انشانا من بعدهم قرنا اخرين فارسلنا فيهم رسولا منهم ان اعبدوا الله ما لكم من اله غيرهWill you not then guard yourselves?
افلا تتقونThe court of his people, those who disowned and denied the meeting of the last life, and to whom We had given ease in the present life, said: This is nothing but a human like you, who eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink; and if you obey a human like you, you will then indeed be losers. Does he promise you that, once dead and become dust and bones, you will be raised up? Far, far indeed is what you are promised! There is nothing but our present life, we die and we live, and we will not be raised up! He is nothing but a man who has invented a lie against God, and we will not believe him.
وقال الملا من قومه الذين كفروا وكذبوا بلقا الاخره واترفنهم في الحيوه الدنيا ما هذا الا بشر مثلكم ياكل مما تاكلون منه ويشرب مما تشربون ولين اطعتم بشرا مثلكم انكم اذا لخسرون ايعدكم انكم اذا متم وكنتم ترابا وعظما انكم مخرجون هيهات هيهات لما توعدون ان هي الا حياتنا الدنيا نموت ونحيا وما نحن بمبعوثين ان هو الا رجل افتري علي الله كذبا وما نحن له بمومنينHe said [the messenger]: My Guardian, help me, for they have denied me.
قال رب انصرني بما كذبونHe said [God]: A little while yet, and they will surely become full of regret.
قال عما قليل ليصبحن ندمينThe cry then seized them in all truth, and We made them into debris [scattered on the surface].
فاخذتهم الصيحه بالحق فجعلنهم غثاFar removed then be the wrongdoing people!
فبعدا للقوم الظلمينThen We brought forth, after them, other generations.
ثم انشانا من بعدهم قرونا اخرينNo community precedes its term, nor does it delay it.
ما تسبق من امه اجلها وما يستخرونThen We sent Our messengers, one after another.
ثم ارسلنا رسلنا تتراEvery time a messenger came to a community, it treated him as a liar;
كل ما جا امه رسولها كذبوهWe thus made them follow one another, and We made them into narrated tales.
فاتبعنا بعضهم بعضا وجعلنهم احاديثFar removed then be a people that does not believe!
فبعدا لقوم لا يومنونThen We sent Moussa and his brother Harun, with Our signs and a clear authority, to Fir'awn and his court; but they swelled with pride and were a haughty people,
ثم ارسلنا موسي واخاه هرون بايتنا وسلطن مبين الي فرعون وملايه فاستكبروا وكانوا قوما عالينand they said: Shall we give credit to two humans like ourselves, while their people obey us?
فقالوا انومن لبشرين مثلنا وقومهما لنا عبدونThey treated them as liars, and were thus among those annihilated.
فكذبوهما فكانوا من المهلكينWe gave Moussa the Scripture, that they might be guided.
ولقد اتينا موسي الكتب لعلهم يهتدونAnd We made the son of Maryam and his mother a sign,
وجعلنا ابن مريم وامه ايهand We sheltered them toward a height endowed with stability and a spring.
واوينهما الي ربوه ذات قرار ومعينO messengers, eat of the good things and act righteously —
يايها الرسل كلوا من الطيبت واعملوا صلحاI am indeed, of what you do, All-Knowing.
اني بما تعملون عليمAnd this community of yours is a single community,
وان هذه امتكم امه وحدهand I am your Guardian: so guard yourselves toward Me.
وانا ربكم فاتقونBut they split, concerning their affair, into divided factions,
فتقطعوا امرهم بينهم زبراeach party rejoicing in what it holds.
كل حزب بما لديهم فرحونSo leave them in their blindness, for a while.
فذرهم في غمرتهم حتي حينDo they think that, what We grant them of goods and children, We hasten toward them with good things?
ايحسبون انما نمدهم به من مال وبنين نسارع لهم في الخيرتNo, they do not perceive.
بل لا يشعرونThose who, out of reverent awe of their Guardian, are watchful, and those who believe in the signs of their Guardian, and those who associate nothing with their Guardian, and those who give what they give, their core trembling [at the thought] that they are returning to their Guardian — those hasten toward good things,
ان الذين هم من خشيه ربهم مشفقون والذين هم بايت ربهم يومنون والذين هم بربهم لا يشركون والذين يوتون ما اتوا وقلوبهم وجله انهم الي ربهم رجعون اوليك يسرعون في الخيرتand they are foremost in that.
وهم لها سبقونAnd We do not burden a Self beyond its capacity,
ولا نكلف نفسا الا وسعهاand We have a record that speaks with truth, and they will not be wronged.
ولدينا كتب ينطق بالحق وهم لا يظلمونBut their core is in a [dark] blindness about this,
بل قلوبهم في غمره من هذاand they have, apart from that, deeds
ولهم اعمل من دون ذلكwhich they will continue to commit —
هم لها عملونuntil, when We seize their privileged ones with punishment, there they are, crying out in distress.
حتي اذا اخذنا مترفيهم بالعذاب اذا هم يجرونDo not cry out today,
لا تجروا اليومyou will indeed not be helped by Us.
انكم منا لا تنصرونMy signs were indeed recited to you, and you turned back on your heels, swelling with pride about them,
قد كانت ايتي تتلي عليكم فكنتم علي اعقبكم تنكصون مستكبرين بهconversing by night, you spoke outrageously.
سمرا تهجرونHave they then not pondered the word, or has there come to them what did not come to their first ancestors?
افلم يدبروا القول ام جاهم ما لم يات اباهم الاولينOr did they not recognize their messenger, to the point that they disavow him?
ام لم يعرفوا رسولهم فهم له منكرونOr do they say that he is afflicted with derangement?
ام يقولون به جنهNo, he has come to them with the truth,
بل جاهم بالحقbut most of them have an aversion to the truth.
واكثرهم للحق كرهونAnd had the truth followed their emotions, the heavens, the earth, and those therein would have been corrupted.
ولو اتبع الحق اهواهم لفسدت السموت والارض ومن فيهنNo, We have brought them their own Reminder,
بل اتينهم بذكرهمbut they turn away from their Reminder.
فهم عن ذكرهم معرضونOr do you ask them for a tribute?
ام تسلهم خرجاThe tribute of your Guardian is better,
فخراج ربك خيرand He is the best of providers.
وهو خير الرزقينAnd you surely call them toward a straight path;
وانك لتدعوهم الي صرط مستقيمbut those who do not believe in the last life surely deviate from that path.
وان الذين لا يومنون بالاخره عن الصرط لنكبونAnd if We had benevolence on them and removed from them the harm that afflicts them, they would persist in wandering blindly in their excess.
ولو رحمنهم وكشفنا ما بهم من ضر للجوا في طغينهم يعمهونWe did seize them with punishment, yet they did not submit to their Guardian, nor did they humbly plead,
ولقد اخذنهم بالعذاب فما استكانوا لربهم وما يتضرعونuntil, when We open upon them a gate of severe punishment, there they are, in despair.
حتي اذا فتحنا عليهم بابا ذا عذاب شديد اذا هم فيه مبلسونAnd He is the One who brought forth for you hearing, sight, and Consciences.
وهو الذي انشا لكم السمع والابصر والافدهHow little you are grateful!
قليلا ما تشكرونAnd He is the One who has scattered you upon the earth, and it is to Him that you will be gathered.
وهو الذي ذراكم في الارض واليه تحشرونAnd He is the One who gives life and gives death,
وهو الذي يحي ويميتand to Him belongs the alternation of night and day.
وله اختلف اليل والنهارWill you not then reason?
افلا تعقلونBut they said the same thing that the ancients used to say; they said: Is it that, once dead and become dust and bones, we will be resurrected?
بل قالوا مثل ما قال الاولون قالوا اذا متنا وكنا ترابا وعظما انا لمبعوثونWe were promised this, we and our ancestors, before already;
لقد وعدنا نحن واباونا هذا من قبلthis is nothing but legends of the ancients.
ان هذا الا اسطير الاولينSay: To whom belongs the earth and what is in it, if you know? They will say: To God.
قل لمن الارض ومن فيها ان كنتم تعلمون سيقولون للهSay: Will you not then remember?
قل افلا تذكرونSay: Who is the Guardian of the seven heavens and the Guardian of the immense Edifice?
قل من رب السموت السبع ورب العرش العظيمThey will say: To God.
سيقولون للهSay: Will you not then guard yourselves?
قل افلا تتقونSay: Who holds in His hand the sovereign dominion of everything, who protects and against whom none can be protected, if you know? They will say: To God.
قل من بيده ملكوت كل شي وهو يجير ولا يجار عليه ان كنتم تعلمون سيقولون للهSay: How then are you abused by illusion?
قل فاني تسحرونNo, We have brought them the truth,
بل اتينهم بالحقand they are surely liars.
وانهم لكذبونGod has taken no child,
ما اتخذ الله من ولدand there was with Him no deity —
وما كان معه من الهotherwise, each deity would have gone off with what it created, and some would have risen above others.
اذا لذهب كل اله بما خلق ولعلا بعضهم علي بعضGlory be to God, above what they describe!
سبحن الله عما يصفونKnower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest,
علم الغيب والشهدهHe is far above what they associate with Him.
فتعلي عما يشركونSay: My Guardian, if You show me what they are promised, then, my Guardian, do not place me among the wrongdoing people.
قل رب اما تريني ما يوعدون رب فلا تجعلني في القوم الظلمينAnd We are surely able to show you what We promise them.
وانا علي ان نريك ما نعدهم لقدرونRepel evil with what is better —
ادفع بالتي هي احسن السييهWe know best what they describe.
نحن اعلم بما يصفونAnd say: My Guardian, I take refuge with You from the incitements of the Diverters, and I take refuge with You, my Guardian, against their being present with me.
وقل رب اعوذ بك من همزت الشيطين واعوذ بك رب ان يحضرونUntil, when death comes to one of them, he says: My Guardian, send me back, that I may act righteously in that which I left. By no means!
حتي اذا جا احدهم الموت قال رب ارجعون لعلي اعمل صلحا فيما تركت كلاIt is indeed a word that he utters [in vain],
انها كلمه هو قايلهاand behind them there is a barrier, until the day they are resurrected.
ومن ورايهم برزخ الي يوم يبعثونThen, when the Horn is blown, there will be no ties of lineage between them that day, and they will not question one another.
فاذا نفخ في الصور فلا انساب بينهم يوميذ ولا يتسالونThose whose weights are heavy — those are the ones who succeed;
فمن ثقلت موزينه فاوليك هم المفلحونAnd those whose weights are light — those are the ones who have lost their own Self, abiding eternally in Jahannam; the fire will scorch their faces, and they will grimace therein.
ومن خفت موزينه فاوليك الذين خسروا انفسهم في جهنم خلدون تلفح وجوههم النار وهم فيها كلحونWere My signs not recited to you, and you denied them?
الم تكن ايتي تتلي عليكم فكنتم بها تكذبونThey will say: Our Guardian, our misery overcame us, and we were an astray people.
قالوا ربنا غلبت علينا شقوتنا وكنا قوما ضالينOur Guardian, bring us out of it; if we relapse, we will then [truly] be wrongdoers.
ربنا اخرجنا منها فان عدنا فانا ظلمونHe will say: Remain therein, humiliated, and do not speak to Me.
قال اخسوا فيها ولا تكلمونThere was a group among My obedient ones who said: Our Guardian, we believe; forgive us and have benevolence on us, for You are the best of those who show benevolence — but you took them in mockery, until they made you forget My Reminder, and you used to laugh at them.
انه كان فريق من عبادي يقولون ربنا امنا فاغفر لنا وارحمنا وانت خير الرحمين فاتخذتموهم سخريا حتي انسوكم ذكري وكنتم منهم تضحكونI have this day recompensed them for their endurance: it is they who are the triumphant.
اني جزيتهم اليوم بما صبروا انهم هم الفايزونHe will say: How many years did you remain on the earth?
قل كم لبثتم في الارض عدد سنينThey will say: We remained a day,
قالوا لبثنا يوماor part of a day; so ask those who keep count.
او بعض يوم فسل العادينHe will say: You remained only a little, if only you knew.
قل ان لبثتم الا قليلا لو انكم كنتم تعلمونDid you then think that We created you in vain, and that you would not be returned to Us?
افحسبتم انما خلقنكم عبثا وانكم الينا لا ترجعونExalted be God, the Sovereign, the Truth!
فتعلي الله الملك الحقThere is no deity but Him,
لا اله الا هوthe Guardian of the generous Edifice.
رب العرش الكريمAnd whoever invokes, with God, another deity, having no proof of it, his account rests only with his Guardian.
ومن يدع مع الله الها اخر لا برهن له به فانما حسابه عند ربهThose who disown do not attain success.
انه لا يفلح الكفرونAnd say: My Guardian, forgive and have benevolence, for You are the best of those who show benevolence.
وقل رب اغفر وارحم وانت خير الرحمين
