۞
As-Sajda
-
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Alif, Lam, Mim.i 1
The sending down of the Scripture, without doubt, is from the Guardian of all beings.i 2
Will they say, "He has invented it"? 3
It is rather the truth from your Guardian, that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, that they might be guided. 3
God is He who created the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, in six days, then established Himself upon the Edifice;i 4
you have, besides Him, neither ally nor intercessor. 4
Will you not then be reminded? 4
He governs the order from the sky to the earth, then it ascends to Him in a day whose measure is a thousand years by your reckoning. 5
That is the Knower of what escapes the senses and of what is manifest, the All-Powerful, the Benevolent,i 6
who perfected everything He created, and began the creation of man from clay, 7
then made his progeny from an extract of a lowly fluid, 8
then formed him and breathed into him of His Influx, 9
and He appointed for you hearing, sight, and Consciences — 9
how little you are grateful! 9
And they said, "When we are dissolved into the earth, will we truly be in a new creation?" 10
They rather deny the meeting with their Guardian. 10
Say, "The Agent of death, who has been charged with you, will take you; then to your Guardian you will be returned."i 11
And if you could see when the severed, heads bowed before their Guardian, [will say], "Our Guardian, we have seen and heard, so return us; we will do righteousness — we are now certain." 12
And had We willed, We could have given every Self its guidance; 13
but My word has come true: "I will surely fill Jahannam with the Occulted and mankind, all together."i 13
So taste, for having forgotten the meeting of this Day of yours — We have [likewise] forgotten you — 14
and taste the punishment of eternity for what you used to do. 14
Only those believe in Our signs who, when they are reminded of them, fall down in prostration and glorify their Guardian with praise, and are not arrogant. 15
Their sides draw away from their beds, calling upon their Guardian in fear and hope, and they spend out of what We have provided them. 16
And no Self knows what has been hidden for it of a rest of the gaze, as reward for what they used to do. 17
Is he who is a believer like him who is an overstepper? 18
They are not equal. 18
As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, they have the gardens of refuge, as a welcome, for what they used to do; 19
and as for those who overstepped the limits, their refuge is the Fire: 20
every time they wish to come out of it, they will be returned to it, and it will be said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny." 20
And We will surely let them taste the nearer punishment, short of the greater punishment, that they might return [to righteousness]. 21
And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the signs of his Guardian, and then turns away from them? 22
We will surely take vengeance upon the severed. 22
And We certainly gave Moussa the Scripture —i 23
so be not in doubt about his meeting [with it] — 23
and We made it a guidance for the Children of Israel. 23
And We appointed among them leaders guiding by Our command, when they had endured patiently, 24
and had certainty in Our signs. 24
Your Guardian is certainly He who will judge between them, on the Day of Appearance, concerning that in which they differed.i 25
Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they now walk? 26
There are certainly in that signs. 26
Do they not then listen? 26
Have they not seen that We drive the water to the barren land, and thereby bring forth crops from which their cattle and they themselves eat? 27
Do they not then see? 27
And they say, "When is this judgment, if you are truthful?" 28
Say, "On the day of judgment, faith will no longer benefit those who denied, nor will they be given respite." 29
So turn away from them, and wait: 30
they too are waiting. 30
