Sourate Ad-Dukhan (44) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Ha, Mim.i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم حم

By the clear Scripture! We sent it down in a blessed night; We are warners.i 3

والكتب المبين انا انزلنه في ليله مبركه انا كنا منذرين

In it, every wise matter is decided, a command from Us. 5

فيها يفرق كل امر حكيم امرا من عندنا

We are senders [of Our messengers], a benevolence from your Guardian. 6

انا كنا مرسلين رحمه من ربك

It is He, the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. 6

انه هو السميع العليم

the Guardian of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you have certainty. 7

رب السموت والارض وما بينهما ان كنتم موقنين

There is no god but Him. 8

لا اله الا هو

He gives life and causes death, 8

يحي ويميت

your Guardian and the Guardian of your forefathers. 8

ربكم ورب ابايكم الاولين

But they play in doubt. 9

بل هم في شك يلعبون

So watch for the day when the sky brings a clear smoke that envelops the people, 11

فارتقب يوم تاتي السما بدخان مبين يغشي الناس

this is a painful punishment. 11

هذا عذاب اليم

"Our Guardian, remove the punishment from us; we believe." 12

ربنا اكشف عنا العذاب انا مومنون

How would the reminder benefit them, when a clear messenger had come to them, then they turned away from him and said: "One taught [by others], insane"? 14

اني لهم الذكري وقد جاهم رسول مبين ثم تولوا عنه وقالوا معلم مجنون

We will remove the punishment for a little while, 15

انا كاشفوا العذاب قليلا

but you will return [to disbelief]. 15

انكم عايدون

The day We strike the greatest Strike, 16

يوم نبطش البطشه الكبري

We will take vengeance. 16

انا منتقمون

Before them, We tried the people of Fir'awn, and a noble messenger came to them: "Hand over to me the obedient ones of God; I am for you a trustworthy messenger; and do not exalt yourselves against God — I bring you clear authority; and I seek refuge in my Guardian and yours, that you not banish me; and if you do not believe me, then keep away from me."i 21

ولقد فتنا قبلهم قوم فرعون وجاهم رسول كريم ان ادوا الي عباد الله اني لكم رسول امين وان لا تعلوا علي الله اني اتيكم بسلطن مبين واني عذت بربي وربكم ان ترجمون وان لم تومنوا لي فاعتزلون

So he called upon his Guardian: "These are a severed people." 22

فدعا ربه ان هولا قوم مجرمون

"Set out with My obedient ones by night; you will be pursued. And leave the sea parted, still." 24

فاسر بعبادي ليلا انكم متبعون واترك البحر رهوا

They are an army that will be drowned. 24

انهم جند مغرقون

How many gardens and springs they left behind, and crops, and noble residences, and comforts in which they took delight. 27

كم تركوا من جنت وعيون وزروع ومقام كريم ونعمه كانوا فيها فكهين

Thus. 28

كذلك

We made another people inherit them. 28

واورثنها قوما اخرين

Neither the sky nor the earth wept over them, and they were granted no reprieve. 29

فما بكت عليهم السما والارض وما كانوا منظرين

We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating punishment [coming] from Fir'awn.i 31

ولقد نجينا بني اسريل من العذاب المهين من فرعون

He was, among the excessive, a haughty one. 31

انه كان عاليا من المسرفين

We chose them, knowingly, above all beings, and We gave them, among the signs, that which held a clear trial.i 33

ولقد اخترنهم علي علم علي العلمين واتينهم من الايت ما فيه بلوا مبين

These say: "There is nothing but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful." 36

ان هولا ليقولون ان هي الا موتتنا الاولي وما نحن بمنشرين فاتوا باباينا ان كنتم صدقين

Are they better, or the people of Tubba'?i 37

اهم خير ام قوم تبع

And those before them — We destroyed them. 37

والذين من قبلهم اهلكنهم

They were a severed people. 37

انهم كانوا مجرمين

We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in play. 38

وما خلقنا السموت والارض وما بينهما لعبين

We created them only with truth, 39

ما خلقنهما الا بالحق

but most of them do not know. 39

ولكن اكثرهم لا يعلمون

The Day of Separation is the appointed time for them all — a day when no ally will be of any use to [another] ally, and they will not be helped, except those on whom God has benevolence. 42

ان يوم الفصل ميقتهم اجمعين يوم لا يغني مولي عن مولي شيا ولا هم ينصرون الا من رحم الله

He is the All-Powerful, the benevolent.i 42

انه هو العزيز الرحيم

Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum is the food of the hardened transgressor; like molten metal, it boils in the bellies as boiling water boils. 46

ان شجرت الزقوم طعام الاثيم كالمهل يغلي في البطون كغلي الحميم

"Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Blaze, then pour over his head the punishment of boiling water. Taste!" 49

خذوه فاعتلوه الي سوا الجحيم ثم صبوا فوق راسه من عذاب الحميم ذق

"You, yes you, the mighty, the noble!" 49

انك انت العزيز الكريم

This is what you used to doubt. 50

ان هذا ما كنتم به تمترون

Those who guard themselves will be in a secure place, in gardens and springs, dressed in fine silk and brocade, facing one another. 53

ان المتقين في مقام امين في جنت وعيون يلبسون من سندس واستبرق متقبلين

Thus. 54

كذلك

We will unite them with companions of listening and support.i 54

وزوجنهم بحور عين

They will call therein for every fruit, secure. 55

يدعون فيها بكل فكهه امنين

They will not taste death therein, 56

لا يذوقون فيها الموت

except the first death. 56

الا الموته الاولي

He will have shielded them from the punishment of the Blaze, as a favor from your Guardian. 57

ووقيهم عذاب الجحيم فضلا من ربك

That is the immense triumph. 57

ذلك هو الفوز العظيم

We have only made it easy in your tongue, so that they may remember. 58

فانما يسرنه بلسانك لعلهم يتذكرون

So watch, 59

فارتقب

they too are watching. 59

انهم مرتقبون
