Sourate Al-Jathiya (45) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Ha, Mim.i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم حم

The sending down of the Scripture is from God, the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 2

تنزيل الكتب من الله العزيز الحكيم

Indeed, in the heavens and the earth are signs for the believers. 3

ان في السموت والارض لايت للمومنين

And in your creation, and in the creatures He scatters about, are signs for a people who have certainty; and in the alternation of night and day, and what God sends down from the sky as provision, by which He revives the earth after its death, and in the shifting of the winds, are signs for a people who reason. 5

وفي خلقكم وما يبث من دابه ايت لقوم يوقنون واختلف اليل والنهار وما انزل الله من السما من رزق فاحيا به الارض بعد موتها وتصريف الريح ايت لقوم يعقلون

These are the signs of God which We recite to you in truth. 6

تلك ايت الله نتلوها عليك بالحق

So in what discourse, after God and His signs, do they believe?i 6

فباي حديث بعد الله وايته يومنون

Woe to every transgressive liar, who hears the signs of God recited to him, then persists arrogantly, as if he had not heard them. 8

ويل لكل افاك اثيم يسمع ايت الله تتلي عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كان لم يسمعها

So give him news of a painful punishment. 8

فبشره بعذاب اليم

And when he learns something of Our signs, he takes them in mockery. 9

واذا علم من ايتنا شيا اتخذها هزوا

Those will have a humiliating punishment. 9

اوليك لهم عذاب مهين

Behind them is Jahannam; and what they earned will not avail them at all, nor will what they took as protectors besides God. 10

من ورايهم جهنم ولا يغني عنهم ما كسبوا شيا ولا ما اتخذوا من دون الله اوليا

And they will have a tremendous punishment. 10

ولهم عذاب عظيم

This is guidance, 11

هذا هدي

and those who deny the signs of their Guardian will have a punishment of painful torment. 11

والذين كفروا بايت ربهم لهم عذاب من رجز اليم

God is the One who subjected the sea for you, so that ships may sail upon it by His command, and so that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you may be grateful. 12

الله الذي سخر لكم البحر لتجري الفلك فيه بامره ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون

And He subjected for you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, all from Him. 13

وسخر لكم ما في السموت وما في الارض جميعا منه

Indeed, in that are signs for a people who reflect. 13

ان في ذلك لايت لقوم يتفكرون

Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not expect the days of God, so that He may repay a people for what they used to earn. 14

قل للذين امنوا يغفروا للذين لا يرجون ايام الله ليجزي قوما بما كانوا يكسبون

Whoever does good does it for himself, 15

من عمل صلحا فلنفسه

and whoever does evil does it against himself, 15

ومن اسا فعليها

then to your Guardian you will be returned. 15

ثم الي ربكم ترجعون

We gave the Children of Israel the Scripture, the judgment, and prophethood; We provided them with good things and favored them above all beings; and We gave them clear proofs concerning the Command.i 17

ولقد اتينا بني اسريل الكتب والحكم والنبوه ورزقنهم من الطيبت وفضلنهم علي العلمين واتينهم بينت من الامر

They did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, 17

فما اختلفوا الا من بعد ما جاهم العلم

out of aggression among themselves. 17

بغيا بينهم

Your Guardian will judge between them on the Day of Appearance concerning that in which they used to differ.i 17

ان ربك يقضي بينهم يوم القيمه فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون

Then We placed you upon a legislated way from the Command, so follow it, 18

ثم جعلنك علي شريعه من الامر فاتبعها

and do not follow the emotions [overriding reason] of those who do not know. 18

ولا تتبع اهوا الذين لا يعلمون

They will not avail you anything against God, 19

انهم لن يغنوا عنك من الله شيا

and indeed the wrongdoers are allies of one another, 19

وان الظلمين بعضهم اوليا بعض

while God is the Ally of those who guard themselves. 19

والله ولي المتقين

This is insight for the people, and guidance and benevolence for a people who have certainty. 20

هذا بصير للناس وهدي ورحمه لقوم يوقنون

Or do those who have committed evil deeds think that We will make them like those who believe and do righteous deeds, equal in their life and their death? 21

ام حسب الذين اجترحوا السيات ان نجعلهم كالذين امنوا وعملوا الصلحت سوا محياهم ومماتهم

Evil is what they decide. 21

سا ما يحكمون

God created the heavens and the earth with truth, 22

وخلق الله السموت والارض بالحق

and so that every Self may be repaid for what it earned, and they will not be wronged. 22

ولتجزي كل نفس بما كسبت وهم لا يظلمون

Have you seen the one who has taken his emotion [overriding reason] as his god? God knowingly left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his Core, and placed a veil over his sight. Who then will guide him after God? 23

افريت من اتخذ الهه هويه واضله الله علي علم وختم علي سمعه وقلبه وجعل علي بصره غشوه فمن يهديه من بعد الله

Will you not then remember? 23

افلا تذكرون

They said: "There is nothing but our present life; we die and we live, and nothing destroys us but time." 24

وقالوا ما هي الا حياتنا الدنيا نموت ونحيا وما يهلكنا الا الدهر

They have no knowledge of that, 24

وما لهم بذلك من علم

they only assume. 24

ان هم الا يظنون

And when Our clear signs are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful." 25

واذا تتلي عليهم ايتنا بينت ما كان حجتهم الا ان قالوا ايتوا باباينا ان كنتم صدقين

Say: "God gives you life, then causes you to die, then He will gather you to the Day of Appearance, about which there is no doubt,"i 26

قل الله يحييكم ثم يميتكم ثم يجمعكم الي يوم القيمه لا ريب فيه

but most people do not know. 26

ولكن اكثر الناس لا يعلمون

To God belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, 27

ولله ملك السموت والارض

and on the day the Hour rises, that day those who deal in falsehood will lose. 27

ويوم تقوم الساعه يوميذ يخسر المبطلون

You will see every community kneeling, 28

وتري كل امه جاثيه

every community will be called to its record.i 28

كل امه تدعي الي كتبها

"Today you are repaid for what you used to do." 28

اليوم تجزون ما كنتم تعملون

"This is Our record; it speaks about you in truth,"i 29

هذا كتبنا ينطق عليكم بالحق

"We were having transcribed what you used to do." 29

انا كنا نستنسخ ما كنتم تعملون

As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Guardian will admit them into His benevolence; 30

فاما الذين امنوا وعملوا الصلحت فيدخلهم ربهم في رحمته

that is the manifest triumph. 30

ذلك هو الفوز المبين

As for those who denied: "Were not My signs recited to you? But you were arrogant and were a severed people." 31

واما الذين كفروا افلم تكن ايتي تتلي عليكم فاستكبرتم وكنتم قوما مجرمين

And when it was said: "Indeed the promise of God is true, and the Hour, no doubt about it," you said: "We do not know what the Hour is; we only assume, and we are not certain." 32

واذا قيل ان وعد الله حق والساعه لا ريب فيها قلتم ما ندري ما الساعه ان نظن الا ظنا وما نحن بمستيقنين

The evils of what they did will have appeared to them, 33

وبدا لهم سيات ما عملوا

and what they used to mock will have surrounded them. 33

وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزون

It will be said: "Today We forget you, as you forgot the meeting of this your day; your refuge is the Fire, and you will have no helpers." 34

وقيل اليوم ننسيكم كما نسيتم لقا يومكم هذا وماويكم النار وما لكم من نصرين

"That is because you took the signs of God in mockery, and the present life deceived you." 35

ذلكم بانكم اتخذتم ايت الله هزوا وغرتكم الحيوه الدنيا

So today they will not be taken out of it, nor will they be allowed to make amends. 35

فاليوم لا يخرجون منها ولا هم يستعتبون

So to God belongs praise, Guardian of the heavens and Guardian of the earth, Guardian of all beings. 36

فلله الحمد رب السموت ورب الارض رب العلمين

And to Him belongs greatness in the heavens and the earth, 37

وله الكبريا في السموت والارض

and He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 37

وهو العزيز الحكيم
