Sourate Al-Mujadala (58) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. God has certainly heard the words of she who disputes with you about her husband and complains to God; and God hears your exchange.i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قد سمع الله قول التي تجدلك في زوجها وتشتكي الي الله والله يسمع تحاوركما

God is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. 1

ان الله سميع بصير

Those among you who withdraw intimacy from their wives as they do from their mothers — they are not their mothers.i 2

الذين يظهرون منكم من نسايهم ما هن امهتهم

Their mothers are none but those who bore them. 2

ان امهتهم الا الي ولدنهم

They are certainly uttering a disavowed and false word.i 2

وانهم ليقولون منكرا من القول وزورا

But God pardons and forgives. 2

وان الله لعفو غفور

And those who withdraw intimacy from their wives in this way, then go back on what they said, shall free a person from the weight of a heavy debt before they touch each other again.i 3

والذين يظهرون من نسايهم ثم يعودون لما قالوا فتحرير رقبه من قبل ان يتماسا

This is what you are exhorted to. 3

ذلكم توعظون به

And God is well informed of what you do. 3

والله بما تعملون خبير

Whoever finds no means shall abstain two consecutive months before they touch each other again.i 4

فمن لم يجد فصيام شهرين متتابعين من قبل ان يتماسا

And whoever cannot shall feed sixty destitute people.i 4

فمن لم يستطع فاطعام ستين مسكينا

This, so that you may believe in God and His messenger. 4

ذلك لتومنوا بالله ورسوله

These are the limits set by God. 4

وتلك حدود الله

And for those who deny the truth, a painful punishment. 4

وللكفرين عذاب اليم

Those who set themselves against God and His messenger will be brought low, as were those before them. 5

ان الذين يحادون الله ورسوله كبتوا كما كبت الذين من قبلهم

Yet We have sent down clear signs. 5

وقد انزلنا ايت بينت

And for those who deny the truth, a humiliating punishment. 5

وللكفرين عذاب مهين

The day God resurrects them all and informs them of what they did. 6

يوم يبعثهم الله جميعا فينبيهم بما عملوا

God has kept count of it, while they have forgotten it. 6

احصيه الله ونسوه

And God is witness over all things. 6

والله علي كل شي شهيد

Do you not see that God knows what is in the heavens and what is on the earth? 7

الم تر ان الله يعلم ما في السموت وما في الارض

There is no secret talk among three but He is their fourth, nor among five but He is their sixth, nor fewer nor more than that but He is with them wherever they are. 7

ما يكون من نجوي ثلثه الا هو رابعهم ولا خمسه الا هو سادسهم ولا ادني من ذلك ولا اكثر الا هو معهم اين ما كانوا

Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Appearance.i 7

ثم ينبيهم بما عملوا يوم القيمه

God has knowledge of all things. 7

ان الله بكل شي عليم

Have you not seen those who were forbidden secret talk, then go back to what they were forbidden, and hold secret talk in transgression, hostility, and disobedience to the messenger? 8

الم تر الي الذين نهوا عن النجوي ثم يعودون لما نهوا عنه ويتنجون بالاثم والعدون ومعصيت الرسول

And when they come to you, they greet you with a greeting God never greeted you with, and say among themselves: Why does God not punish us for what we say? 8

واذا جاوك حيوك بما لم يحيك به الله ويقولون في انفسهم لولا يعذبنا الله بما نقول

Jahannam is enough for them. 8

حسبهم جهنم

They will burn in it. 8

يصلونها

What a wretched destination! 8

فبيس المصير

O you who believe, when you hold secret talk, do not hold it in transgression, hostility, and disobedience to the messenger. 9

يايها الذين امنوا اذا تنجيتم فلا تتنجوا بالاثم والعدون ومعصيت الرسول

But hold secret talk in righteousness and guardedness.i 9

وتنجوا بالبر والتقوي

And guard yourselves before God, to whom you will be gathered.i 9

واتقوا الله الذي اليه تحشرون

Secret talk comes only from the Diverter, to grieve those who believe; but it cannot harm them in the least, except by God's leave.i 10

انما النجوي من الشيطن ليحزن الذين امنوا وليس بضارهم شيا الا باذن الله

And it is in God that the believers should place their trust. 10

وعلي الله فليتوكل المومنون

O you who believe, when you are told to make room in gatherings, make room; God will make room for you. 11

يايها الذين امنوا اذا قيل لكم تفسحوا في المجلس فافسحوا يفسح الله لكم

And when you are told to rise up, rise up; God will raise in rank those among you who believe and those given knowledge. 11

واذا قيل انشزوا فانشزوا يرفع الله الذين امنوا منكم والذين اوتوا العلم درجت

And God is well informed of what you do. 11

والله بما تعملون خبير

O you who believe, when you consult the messenger privately, let your secret talk be preceded by an offering. 12

يايها الذين امنوا اذا نجيتم الرسول فقدموا بين يدي نجويكم صدقه

That is better for you, and purer. 12

ذلك خير لكم واطهر

But if you find no means, then God is forgiving, benevolent. 12

فان لم تجدوا فان الله غفور رحيم

Were you afraid to have your secret talks preceded by offerings? 13

اشفقتم ان تقدموا بين يدي نجويكم صدقت

Since you did not do it, and God has turned to you in benevolence, maintain the Contact and pay the zakat. 13

فاذ لم تفعلوا وتاب الله عليكم فاقيموا الصلوه واتوا الزكوه

And obey God and His messenger. 13

واطيعوا الله ورسوله

And God is well informed of what you do. 13

والله خبير بما تعملون

Have you not seen those who ally themselves with a people with whom God is angry? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear to falsehood knowingly. 14

الم تر الي الذين تولوا قوما غضب الله عليهم ما هم منكم ولا منهم ويحلفون علي الكذب وهم يعلمون

God has prepared for them a severe punishment. 15

اعد الله لهم عذابا شديدا

How evil is what they used to do! 15

انهم سا ما كانوا يعملون

They made their oaths a shield and turned others away from God's path; theirs is a humiliating punishment. 16

اتخذوا ايمنهم جنه فصدوا عن سبيل الله فلهم عذاب مهين

Neither their wealth nor their children will avail them anything against God. 17

لن تغني عنهم امولهم ولا اولدهم من الله شيا

Those are the companions of the Fire, abiding there forever. 17

اوليك اصحب النار هم فيها خلدون

The day God resurrects them all, they will swear to Him as they swear to you, thinking they stand on something. 18

يوم يبعثهم الله جميعا فيحلفون له كما يحلفون لكم ويحسبون انهم علي شي

Indeed, they are the liars. 18

الا انهم هم الكذبون

The Diverter has taken hold of them and made them forget the remembrance of God.i 19

استحوذ عليهم الشيطن فانسيهم ذكر الله

Those are the party of the Diverter.i 19

اوليك حزب الشيطن

Indeed, the party of the Diverter — they are the losers.i 19

الا ان حزب الشيطن هم الخسرون

Those who set themselves against God and His messenger are among the most abased. 20

ان الذين يحادون الله ورسوله اوليك في الاذلين

God has decreed: I shall surely prevail, I and My messengers. 21

كتب الله لاغلبن انا ورسلي

God is Strong, All-Powerful.i 21

ان الله قوي عزيز

You will not find a people who believe in God and the Last Day loving those who oppose God and His messenger, even if they be their ancestors, sons, brothers, or kin.i 22

لا تجد قوما يومنون بالله واليوم الاخر يوادون من حاد الله ورسوله ولو كانوا اباهم او ابناهم او اخونهم او عشيرتهم

These are the ones in whose Cores He has inscribed faith, and whom He has strengthened with an Influx from Him, and whom He will admit into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding there forever. 22

اوليك كتب في قلوبهم الايمن وايدهم بروح منه ويدخلهم جنت تجري من تحتها الانهر خلدين فيها

God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. 22

رضي الله عنهم ورضوا عنه

Those are the party of God. 22

اوليك حزب الله

Indeed, the party of God — they are the successful. 22

الا ان حزب الله هم المفلحون
