Sourate As-Saff (61) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth glorifies God,i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم سبح لله ما في السموت وما في الارض

and He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.i 1

وهو العزيز الحكيم

O you who believe! Why do you say what you do not do? 2

يايها الذين امنوا لم تقولون ما لا تفعلون

It is greatly abhorrent to God that you say what you do not do. 3

كبر مقتا عند الله ان تقولوا ما لا تفعلون

Indeed, God loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as if they were a compact structure. 4

ان الله يحب الذين يقتلون في سبيله صفا كانهم بنين مرصوص

And when Moussa said to his people: O my people, why do you harm me, seeing as you will know that I am the messenger of God sent to you?i 5

واذ قال موسي لقومه يقوم لم توذونني وقد تعلمون اني رسول الله اليكم

So when they deviated, God caused their cores to deviate. 5

فلما زاغوا ازاغ الله قلوبهم

And God does not guide the defiantly disobedient people. 5

والله لا يهدي القوم الفسقين

And when Issa, son of Maryam, said: O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of God to you, confirming what came before me of the Tawrah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose defining trait is Ahmad.i 6

واذ قال عيسي ابن مريم يبني اسريل اني رسول الله اليكم مصدقا لما بين يدي من التوريه ومبشرا برسول ياتي من بعدي اسمه احمد

But when he brought them clear proofs, they said: This is manifest illusion. 6

فلما جاهم بالبينت قالوا هذا سحر مبين

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about God while he is being called to true adherence to God? 7

ومن اظلم ممن افتري علي الله الكذب وهو يدعي الي الاسلم

And God does not guide the unjust people. 7

والله لا يهدي القوم الظلمين

They want to extinguish the light of God with their mouths, but God perfects His light, even if those who deny dislike it. 8

يريدون ليطفوا نور الله بافوههم والله متم نوره ولو كره الكفرون

It is He who sent His messenger with guidance and the Law of truth, to make it prevail over every law, even if the polytheists dislike it. 9

هو الذي ارسل رسوله بالهدي ودين الحق ليظهره علي الدين كله ولو كره المشركون

O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? You believe in God and His messenger, and strive in the way of God with your wealth and your persons — that is better for you, if you but knew. He will forgive you your wrongs and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of Eden. 12

يايها الذين امنوا هل ادلكم علي تجره تنجيكم من عذاب اليم تومنون بالله ورسوله وتجهدون في سبيل الله بامولكم وانفسكم ذلكم خير لكم ان كنتم تعلمون يغفر لكم ذنوبكم ويدخلكم جنت تجري من تحتها الانهر ومسكن طيبه في جنت عدن

That is the great success. 12

ذلك الفوز العظيم

And another thing you love: help from God and a near victory. 13

واخري تحبونها نصر من الله وفتح قريب

So give good tidings to the believers. 13

وبشر المومنين

O you who believe! Be allies of God, just as Issa, son of Maryam, said to the disciples: Who are my allies to God?i 14

يايها الذين امنوا كونوا انصار الله كما قال عيسي ابن مريم للحوارين من انصاري الي الله

The disciples said: We are the allies of God. 14

قال الحواريون نحن انصار الله

So a group of the Children of Israel believed, and a group denied. 14

فامنت طايفه من بني اسريل وكفرت طايفه

So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant. 14

فايدنا الذين امنوا علي عدوهم فاصبحوا ظهرين
