Sourate At-Tahrim (66) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. O Prophet! Why do you forbid what God has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives?i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يايها النبي لم تحرم ما احل الله لك تبتغي مرضات ازوجك

And God is Forgiving, Benevolent. 1

والله غفور رحيم

God has prescribed for you the release from your oaths, 2

قد فرض الله لكم تحله ايمنكم

and God is your Protector. 2

والله موليكم

And He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. 2

وهو العليم الحكيم

And when the Prophet confided a matter in secret to one of his wives, 3

واذ اسر النبي الي بعض ازوجه حديثا

and she disclosed it, and God made it known to him, he made known part of it and passed over another part. 3

فلما نبات به واظهره الله عليه عرف بعضه واعرض عن بعض

Then, when he told her of it, she said: 'Who informed you of this?' He said: 'The All-Knowing, the All-Aware informed me.' 3

فلما نباها به قالت من انباك هذا قال نباني العليم الخبير

If you two turn to God in repentance — for your cores have indeed swerved — 4

ان تتوبا الي الله فقد صغت قلوبكما

but if you support one another against him, then God is his Protector, and Gabriel, and the righteous among the believers, 4

وان تظهرا عليه فان الله هو موليه وجبريل وصلح المومنين

and the Agents, moreover, are his support.i 4

والمليكه بعد ذلك ظهير

It may be that his Guardian, if he divorces you, will give him in exchange wives better than you: true to God alone, believing, devoted, repentant, obedient, free in their movement, previously married or virgins.i 5

عسي ربه ان طلقكن ان يبدله ازوجا خيرا منكن مسلمت مومنت قنتت تيبت عبدت سيحت ثيبت وابكارا

O you who believe! Guard your Selves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are Agents, harsh and severe, who do not disobey God in what He commands them, and who do what they are commanded.i 6

يايها الذين امنوا قوا انفسكم واهليكم نارا وقودها الناس والحجاره عليها مليكه غلاظ شداد لا يعصون الله ما امرهم ويفعلون ما يومرون

O you who denied [the truth once given to you]! Do not make excuses today: you are only being repaid for what you used to do.i 7

يايها الذين كفروا لا تعتذروا اليوم انما تجزون ما كنتم تعملون

O you who believe! Turn to God in sincere repentance. It may be that your Guardian will efface your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day when God will not disgrace the Prophet nor those who believed with him; their light will run before them and on their right. 8

يايها الذين امنوا توبوا الي الله توبه نصوحا عسي ربكم ان يكفر عنكم سياتكم ويدخلكم جنت تجري من تحتها الانهر يوم لا يخزي الله النبي والذين امنوا معه نورهم يسعي بين ايديهم وبايمنهم

They will say: 'Our Guardian, complete our light for us and forgive us.' 8

يقولون ربنا اتمم لنا نورنا واغفر لنا

You are capable of all things. 8

انك علي كل شي قدير

O Prophet! Strive against those who deny and the hypocrites, and be firm with them.i 9

يايها النبي جهد الكفار والمنفقين واغلظ عليهم

Their refuge is Jahannam, 9

وماويهم جهنم

and what a wretched destination! 9

وبيس المصير

God multiplies examples for those who denied: the wife of Nuh and the wife of Lut.i 10

ضرب الله مثلا للذين كفروا امرات نوح وامرات لوط

they were under two of Our righteous obedient ones, yet they betrayed them, so those two were of no avail to them against God, 10

كانتا تحت عبدين من عبادنا صلحين فخانتاهما فلم يغنيا عنهما من الله شيا

and it was said: 'Enter, both of you, the Fire with those who enter.' 10

وقيل ادخلا النار مع الدخلين

And God multiplies examples for those who believe: the wife of Fir'awn, when she said: 'My Guardian, build for me, near You, a home in Paradise, and save me from Fir'awn and his doing, and save me from the wrongdoing people.'i 11

وضرب الله مثلا للذين امنوا امرات فرعون اذ قالت رب ابن لي عندك بيتا في الجنه ونجني من فرعون وعمله ونجني من القوم الظلمين

And Maryam, daughter of Imran, who guarded her chastity; We breathed into it of Our Influx. She believed in the words of her Guardian and His scriptures, and was among the devoted.i 12

ومريم ابنت عمرن التي احصنت فرجها فنفخنا فيه من روحنا وصدقت بكلمت ربها وكتبه وكانت من القنتين
