Sourate Al-Haqqa (69) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Benevolent. The Reality! What is the Reality?i 2

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحاقه ما الحاقه

And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3

وما ادريك ما الحاقه

the Depleters [Thamud] and the Recidivists [Aad] denied the Calamity that strikes. 4

كذبت ثمود وعاد بالقارعه

As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overwhelming blast. 5

فاما ثمود فاهلكوا بالطاغيه

And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a furious, roaring wind, which He unleashed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, 7

واما عاد فاهلكوا بريح صرصر عاتيه سخرها عليهم سبع ليال وثمنيه ايام حسوما

so that you would have seen the people lying prostrate, as if they were hollow trunks of uprooted palm trees. 7

فتري القوم فيها صرعي كانهم اعجاز نخل خاويه

Do you see any remnant of them? 8

فهل تري لهم من باقيه

And Fir'awn, and those before him, and the overturned cities committed the offense; they disobeyed the messenger of their Guardian, so He seized them with an ever-intensifying seizure.i 10

وجا فرعون ومن قبله والموتفكت بالخاطيه فعصوا رسول ربهم فاخذهم اخذه رابيه

When the water overflowed, We carried you on the vessel, so as to make it a reminder for you, and so that a retaining ear might retain it. 12

انا لما طغا الما حملنكم في الجاريه لنجعلها لكم تذكره وتعيها اذن وعيه

When the trumpet is blown with a single blast, and the earth and the mountains are lifted and crushed with a single blow, on that day the Event will occur, and the heaven will split apart and be, on that day, frail, with the Agent at its edge,i 17

فاذا نفخ في الصور نفخه وحده وحملت الارض والجبال فدكتا دكه وحده فيوميذ وقعت الواقعه وانشقت السما فهي يوميذ واهيه والملك علي ارجايها

and eight [of them] will bear, on that day, the Edifice of your Guardian above them. On that day you will be exposed, and nothing about you will remain hidden.i 18

ويحمل عرش ربك فوقهم يوميذ ثمنيه يوميذ تعرضون لا تخفي منكم خافيه

As for the one who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: 'Here, read my record!i 19

فاما من اوتي كتبه بيمينه فيقول هاوم اقروا كتبيه

I knew that I would meet my reckoning.' 20

اني ظننت اني ملق حسابيه

He will be in a pleasing life, in an elevated garden, whose fruit clusters are within reach. 23

فهو في عيشه راضيه في جنه عاليه قطوفها دانيه

'Eat and drink 24

كلوا واشربوا

in ease, for what you sent forth in the days gone by.' 24

هنيا بما اسلفتم في الايام الخاليه

But as for the one who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: 'Oh, would that I had not been given my record,i 25

واما من اوتي كتبه بشماله فيقول يليتني لم اوت كتبيه

and that I had not known what my reckoning was! 26

ولم ادر ما حسابيه

Would that it had been the final end! My wealth has not availed me, 28

يليتها كانت القاضيه ما اغني عني ماليه

my authority has vanished from me.' 29

هلك عني سلطنيه

'Seize him, then bind him, then expose him to the Blaze, then insert him into a chain seventy cubits in length. 32

خذوه فغلوه ثم الجحيم صلوه ثم في سلسله ذرعها سبعون ذراعا فاسلكوه

He did not believe in God, the Immense, nor did he urge the feeding of the destitute.i 34

انه كان لا يومن بالله العظيم ولا يحض علي طعام المسكين

So today he has here no close friend, nor any food except a foul discharge, which only the sinners eat.' 37

فليس له اليوم ههنا حميم ولا طعام الا من غسلين لا ياكله الا الخطون

I swear by what you see and what you do not see: this is indeed the word of a noble messenger, and it is not the word of a beguiling rhetorician — little do you believe — nor the word of a soothsayer.i 42

فلا اقسم بما تبصرون وما لا تبصرون انه لقول رسول كريم وما هو بقول شاعر قليلا ما تومنون ولا بقول كاهن

Little do you take heed. 42

قليلا ما تذكرون

It is a revelation sent down from the Guardian of all beings.i 43

تنزيل من رب العلمين

And had he attributed to Us some fabricated sayings, We would have seized him by the right hand, then severed his aorta, and not one of you could have shielded him from Us. 47

ولو تقول علينا بعض الاقاويل لاخذنا منه باليمين ثم لقطعنا منه الوتين فما منكم من احد عنه حجزين

And this is indeed a reminder for those who are mindful [of God]. 48

وانه لتذكره للمتقين

And We indeed know that among you are deniers. 49

وانا لنعلم ان منكم مكذبين

And this is indeed a bitter regret for those who deny.i 50

وانه لحسره علي الكفرين

And this is indeed the truth of certainty. 51

وانه لحق اليقين

So glorify the name of your Guardian, the Immense. 52

فسبح باسم ربك العظيم
