Sourate Nuh (71) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Indeed, We sent Nuh to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment."i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم انا ارسلنا نوحا الي قومه ان انذر قومك من قبل ان ياتيهم عذاب اليم

He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner: obey God, guard yourselves before Him, and obey me. He will forgive you some of your wrongs and delay you for a specified term.i 4

قال يقوم اني لكم نذير مبين ان اعبدوا الله واتقوه واطيعون يغفر لكم من ذنوبكم ويوخركم الي اجل مسمي

Indeed, the term of God, when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you only knew." 4

ان اجل الله اذا جا لا يوخر لو كنتم تعلمون

He said, "My Guardian, indeed I have called my people night and day, but my call has only increased them in flight. 6

قال رب اني دعوت قومي ليلا ونهارا فلم يزدهم دعاي الا فرارا

And indeed, every time I called them, that You might forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with great arrogance." 7

واني كلما دعوتهم لتغفر لهم جعلوا اصبعهم في اذانهم واستغشوا ثيابهم واصروا واستكبروا استكبارا

"Then I called them openly. 8

ثم اني دعوتهم جهارا

Then I announced to them publicly and confided to them privately, and said: Ask forgiveness of your Guardian; indeed, He is ever a Great Forgiver. He will send rain from the sky upon you in abundance, and provide you with wealth and children, and give you gardens, and give you rivers. 12

ثم اني اعلنت لهم واسررت لهم اسرارا فقلت استغفروا ربكم انه كان غفارا يرسل السما عليكم مدرارا ويمددكم بامول وبنين ويجعل لكم جنت ويجعل لكم انهرا

What is with you, that you do not attribute to God due majesty, when He has created you in successive stages? 14

ما لكم لا ترجون لله وقارا وقد خلقكم اطوارا

Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in layers, and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16

الم تروا كيف خلق الله سبع سموت طباقا وجعل القمر فيهن نورا وجعل الشمس سراجا

And God has caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. Then He will return you into it and bring you out a new emergence. 18

والله انبتكم من الارض نباتا ثم يعيدكم فيها ويخرجكم اخراجا

And God has made for you the earth an expanse, that you may follow therein wide roads. 20

والله جعل لكم الارض بساطا لتسلكوا منها سبلا فجاجا

Nuh said, "My Guardian, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children increased him not except in loss, and they have plotted a great plot,i 22

قال نوح رب انهم عصوني واتبعوا من لم يزده ماله وولده الا خسارا ومكروا مكرا كبارا

and said: Never leave your gods, nor leave Wadd, nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth, nor Ya'uq, nor Nasr." 23

وقالوا لا تذرن الهتكم ولا تذرن ودا ولا سواعا ولا يغوث ويعوق ونسرا

And they have already led many astray. 24

وقد اضلوا كثيرا

And do not increase the wrongdoers except in error." 24

ولا تزد الظلمين الا ضللا

Because of their sins they were drowned and put into a fire, and they found none besides God to help them. 25

مما خطيتهم اغرقوا فادخلوا نارا فلم يجدوا لهم من دون الله انصارا

And Nuh said, "My Guardian, leave not upon the earth, among the deniers, any dweller.i 26

وقال نوح رب لا تذر علي الارض من الكفرين ديارا

If You leave them, they will mislead Your obedient ones and will not beget except wicked ones, great deniers."i 27

انك ان تذرهم يضلوا عبادك ولا يلدوا الا فاجرا كفارا

"My Guardian, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer, and the believing men and believing women, 28

رب اغفر لي ولولدي ولمن دخل بيتي مومنا وللمومنين والمومنت

and do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction." 28

ولا تزد الظلمين الا تبارا
