Sourate Al-Muzzammil (73) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O you who are wrapped up! Stand in prayer the night, except a little — half of it, or subtract from it a little, or add to it — and recite the Recitation with measured, distinct recitation.i 4

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم يايها المزمل قم اليل الا قليلا نصفه او انقص منه قليلا او زد عليه ورتل القران ترتيلا

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5

انا سنلقي عليك قولا ثقيلا

Indeed, the rising of the night is more effective for concurrence of heart and tongue, and more suitable for words. 6

ان ناشيه اليل هي اشد وطا واقوم قيلا

Indeed, you have during the day a long occupation. 7

ان لك في النهار سبحا طويلا

And remember the name of your Guardian and devote yourself to Him with complete devotion. 8

واذكر اسم ربك وتبتل اليه تبتيلا

Guardian of the East and the West; 9

رب المشرق والمغرب

there is no deity except Him; 9

لا اله الا هو

so take Him as an agent.i 9

فاتخذه وكيلا

And be patient over what they say 10

واصبر علي ما يقولون

and avoid them with gracious avoidance. 10

واهجرهم هجرا جميلا

And leave Me with the deniers, those of ease, and allow them respite a little. 11

وذرني والمكذبين اولي النعمه ومهلهم قليلا

Indeed, with Us are shackles and a blazing fire, and food that chokes, and a painful punishment — on the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse, and the mountains will become a heap of poured-out sand. 14

ان لدينا انكالا وجحيما وطعاما ذا غصه وعذابا اليما يوم ترجف الارض والجبال وكانت الجبال كثيبا مهيلا

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you, just as We sent to Fir'awn a messenger. But Fir'awn disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.i 16

انا ارسلنا اليكم رسولا شهدا عليكم كما ارسلنا الي فرعون رسولا فعصي فرعون الرسول فاخذنه اخذا وبيلا

Then how, if you deny, will you guard yourselves on a Day that will turn children gray-haired, a Day the heaven will break apart therefrom? 18

فكيف تتقون ان كفرتم يوما يجعل الولدن شيبا السما منفطر به

His promise is ever bound to be fulfilled. 18

كان وعده مفعولا

Indeed, this is a reminder. 19

ان هذه تذكره

So whoever wills may take, toward his Guardian, a way. 19

فمن شا اتخذ الي ربه سبيلا

Indeed, your Guardian knows that you stand in prayer a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or a third of it, as do a group of those with you. 20

ان ربك يعلم انك تقوم ادني من ثلثي اليل ونصفه وثلثه وطايفه من الذين معك

And God determines the night and the day. 20

والله يقدر اليل والنهار

He knows that you will never count it, so He has turned to you in forgiveness. 20

علم ان لن تحصوه فتاب عليكم

So recite what is feasible of the Recitation. 20

فاقروا ما تيسر من القران

He knows that there will be among you sick, and others traveling throughout the land seeking of the bounty of God, and others fighting in the cause of God. 20

علم ان سيكون منكم مرضي واخرون يضربون في الارض يبتغون من فضل الله واخرون يقتلون في سبيل الله

So recite what is feasible from it, 20

فاقروا ما تيسر منه

and maintain the Contact and give charity, 20

واقيموا الصلوه واتوا الزكوه

and lend to God a goodly loan. 20

واقرضوا الله قرضا حسنا

And whatever good you put forth for yourselves, you will find it with God, better and greater in reward. 20

وما تقدموا لانفسكم من خير تجدوه عند الله هو خيرا واعظم اجرا

And seek forgiveness of God; 20

واستغفروا الله

indeed, God is Forgiving, benevolent. 20

ان الله غفور رحيم
