Sourate An-Naba (78) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. About what?i 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم عم

They are asking one another about the great News, over which they are in disagreement. 3

يتسالون عن النبا العظيم الذي هم فيه مختلفون

No! They will know. Then again, no! They will know. 5

كلا سيعلمون ثم كلا سيعلمون

Have We not made the earth a resting place, and the mountains as pegs? Have We not created you in pairs, and made your sleep a rest? Have We not made the night a covering, and the day for livelihood? Have We not built above you seven strong [heavens], and placed therein a blazing lamp? And sent down from the pressing clouds abundant water, that We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation, and gardens of thick foliage? 16

الم نجعل الارض مهدا والجبال اوتادا وخلقنكم ازوجا وجعلنا نومكم سباتا وجعلنا اليل لباسا وجعلنا النهار معاشا وبنينا فوقكم سبعا شدادا وجعلنا سراجا وهاجا وانزلنا من المعصرت ما ثجاجا لنخرج به حبا ونباتا وجنت الفافا

Indeed, the Day of Separation is an appointed time — the Day the Horn is blown, and you come in multitudes, and the sky is opened and becomes gates, and the mountains are set moving and become a mirage. 20

ان يوم الفصل كان ميقتا يوم ينفخ في الصور فتاتون افواجا وفتحت السما فكانت ابوبا وسيرت الجبال فكانت سرابا

Indeed, Jahannam is ever watching — a place of return for the transgressors, wherein they will remain for ages. 23

ان جهنم كانت مرصادا للطغين مابا لبثين فيها احقابا

They will taste therein neither coolness nor drink, except scalding water and a foul, dark fluid — a fitting recompense. 26

لا يذوقون فيها بردا ولا شرابا الا حميما وغساقا جزا وفاقا

Indeed, they were not expecting a reckoning, and they denied Our signs with emphatic denial. 28

انهم كانوا لا يرجون حسابا وكذبوا بايتنا كذابا

But everything We have enumerated in a record.i 29

وكل شي احصينه كتبا

So taste! We will only increase you in punishment. 30

فذوقوا فلن نزيدكم الا عذابا

Indeed, for those who guarded themselves is an attainment - gardens and vineyards, and companions full of vitality, fertile and of shared stock, and a brimming cup. They will hear therein neither vain talk nor lies -i 35

ان للمتقين مفازا حدايق واعنبا وكواعب اترابا وكاسا دهاقا لا يسمعون فيها لغوا ولا كذبا

a reward from your Guardian, a gift, well accounted, 36

جزا من ربك عطا حسابا

Guardian of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, 37

رب السموت والارض وما بينهما

the Benevolent; they possess no right to address Him, 37

الرحمن لا يملكون منه خطابا

the Day the Influx and the Agents will stand in ranks, none speaking except one to whom the Benevolent has given permission, and who will say what is right.i 38

يوم يقوم الروح والمليكه صفا لا يتكلمون الا من اذن له الرحمن وقال صوابا

That is the True Day. 39

ذلك اليوم الحق

So whoever wills may take refuge with his Guardian. 39

فمن شا اتخذ الي ربه مابا

Indeed, We have warned you of an imminent punishment — the Day when man will observe what his hands have sent forth, and the one who rejects will say, "Oh, that I were earth!" 40

انا انذرنكم عذابا قريبا يوم ينظر المر ما قدمت يداه ويقول الكافر يليتني كنت تربا
