Sourate Al-Mutaffifin (83) original (rasm)

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Woe to the defrauders, who, when they take a measure from people, exact full measure, and when they measure or weigh for them, cause loss.i 3

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ويل للمطففين الذين اذا اكتالوا علي الناس يستوفون واذا كالوهم او وزنوهم يخسرون

Do they not think that they will be resurrected for a tremendous Day, the Day when mankind will stand before the Guardian of all beings?i 6

الا يظن اوليك انهم مبعوثون ليوم عظيم يوم يقوم الناس لرب العلمين

No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in Sijjin.i 7

كلا ان كتب الفجار لفي سجين

And what can make you know what Sijjin is? A written record.i 9

وما ادريك ما سجين كتب مرقوم

Woe, that Day, to the deniers, those who deny the Day of Recompense.i 11

ويل يوميذ للمكذبين الذين يكذبون بيوم الدين

And none denies it except every transgressor, a characterized offender; when Our signs are read to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples!" 13

وما يكذب به الا كل معتد اثيم اذا تتلي عليه ايتنا قال اسطير الاولين

No! Rather, what they were earning has rusted their cores. 14

كلا بل ران علي قلوبهم ما كانوا يكسبون

No! Indeed, from their Guardian, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15

كلا انهم عن ربهم يوميذ لمحجوبون

Then indeed, they will burn in the Blaze.i 16

ثم انهم لصالوا الجحيم

Then it will be said, "This is what you used to deny." 17

ثم يقال هذا الذي كنتم به تكذبون

No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyyun.i 18

كلا ان كتب الابرار لفي عليين

And what can make you know what 'Illiyyun is? A written record, witnessed by those brought near.i 21

وما ادريك ما عليون كتب مرقوم يشهده المقربون

Indeed, the righteous will be in delight, on adorned couches, observing; you will recognize in their faces the radiance of delight; they will be given drink from a sealed nectar, whose seal is musk. 26

ان الابرار لفي نعيم علي الارايك ينظرون تعرف في وجوههم نضره النعيم يسقون من رحيق مختوم ختمه مسك

And for this let the competitors compete. 26

وفي ذلك فليتنافس المتنفسون

And its mixture is of Tasnim, a spring from which those brought near drink. 28

ومزاجه من تسنيم عينا يشرب بها المقربون

Indeed, those who cut themselves off used to laugh at those who believed, and when they passed by them, they winked at one another, and when they returned to their people, they returned jesting, and when they saw them, they said, "Indeed, these are truly astray" — while they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33

ان الذين اجرموا كانوا من الذين امنوا يضحكون واذا مروا بهم يتغامزون واذا انقلبوا الي اهلهم انقلبوا فكهين واذا راوهم قالوا ان هولا لضالون وما ارسلوا عليهم حفظين

So today those who believed are laughing at the rejecters, upon adorned couches. 35

فاليوم الذين امنوا من الكفار يضحكون علي الارايك

Observing: have the rejecters been rewarded for what they used to do? 36

ينظرون هل ثوب الكفار ما كانوا يفعلون
