• But those who were unjust substituted a saying other than what had been said to them; We then sent down upon those who had been unjust a defilement from the sky, for having overstepped. 2:59

  فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رِجْزًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ

• He said: "Would you exchange what is near [and immediate] for what is better? 2:61

  قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ

• And whoever exchanges denial-disowning for faith has indeed strayed from the straight path. 2:108

  وَمَن يَتَبَدَّلِ ٱلْكُفْرَ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ

• And whoever modifies it after having heard it, the transgression thereof falls only upon those who modify it. 2:181

  فَمَنۢ بَدَّلَهُۥ بَعْدَمَا سَمِعَهُۥ فَإِنَّمَآ إِثْمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُۥٓ

• And whoever changes the blessing of God after it has come to him — God is indeed severe in punishment. 2:211

  وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

• and do not substitute the vile for the good, 4:2

  وَلَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا۟ ٱلْخَبِيثَ بِٱلطَّيِّبِ

• And if you want to replace one wife with another, and you have given one of them a treasure, take nothing of it back. 4:20

  وَإِنْ أَرَدتُّمُ ٱسْتِبْدَالَ زَوْجٍۢ مَّكَانَ زَوْجٍۢ وَءَاتَيْتُمْ إِحْدَىٰهُنَّ قِنطَارًۭا فَلَا تَأْخُذُوا۟ مِنْهُ شَيْـًٔا

• Every time their skins are consumed, We will replace them with other skins, so that they may taste the punishment. 4:56

  كُلَّمَا نَضِجَتْ جُلُودُهُم بَدَّلْنَٰهُمْ جُلُودًا غَيْرَهَا لِيَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ

• No [force] can change the words of God. 6:34

  وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ

• No [force] can change His words, 6:115

  لَّا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ

• Then We replaced evil with good, until they prospered 7:95

  ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ ٱلسَّيِّئَةِ ٱلْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوا۟

• But those among them who were unjust substituted a saying other than what had been said to them; We then sent down upon them a defilement from the sky, for having been unjust. 7:162

  فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَظْلِمُونَ

• If you do not mobilize, He will punish you with a painful punishment, and replace you with another people, without your harming Him in any way. 9:39

  إِلَّا تَنفِرُوا۟ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْـًۭٔا

• And when Our signs are recited to them, wholly explicit, those who do not hope for Our meeting say: "Bring a Recitation other than this one, or change it." 10:15

  وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئْتِ بِقُرْءَانٍ غَيْرِ هَٰذَآ أَوْ بَدِّلْهُ

• Say: "It is not for me to change it of my own accord; 10:15

  قُلْ مَا يَكُونُ لِىٓ أَنْ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلْقَآئِ نَفْسِىٓ

• No change to God's words. 10:64

  لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ

• Have you not seen those who exchanged God's blessing for denial, and settled their people in the abode of ruin — Jahannam, wherein they will burn: 14:29

  أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ بَدَّلُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ كُفْرًۭا وَأَحَلُّوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ دَارَ ٱلْبَوَارِ جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا

• The Day the earth will be changed into another earth, and the heavens too, 14:48

  يَوْمَ تُبَدَّلُ ٱلْأَرْضُ غَيْرَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ

• And when We substitute one sign for another sign — God knows best what He sends down — they say: "You are but an inventor." 16:101

  وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةًۭ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍۢ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ

• Recite what has been revealed to you of the Scripture of your Guardian: none can alter His words, 18:27

  وَٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِن كِتَابِ رَبِّكَ لَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِهِۦ

• What a detestable exchange for the wrongdoers! 18:50

  بِئْسَ لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَدَلًۭا

• and we wanted their Guardian to give them in exchange one [a child] better than him in purity and closer in tenderness. 18:81

  فَأَرَدْنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُ زَكَوٰةًۭ وَأَقْرَبَ رُحْمًۭا

• God has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely establish them as successors on the earth, as He established as successors those before them, that He will surely establish firmly for them their Law which He has approved for them, and that He will surely change their state, after their fear, into security. 24:55

  وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱرْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًۭا

• and whoever does that will meet with grave transgression: the punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Appearance, and he will abide therein humiliated, except him who repents, believes, and does righteous work — those, God will change their bad deeds into good deeds, 25:70

  وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًۭا يُضَٰعَفْ لَهُ ٱلْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًۭا صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ حَسَنَٰتٍۢ

• except one who has done wrong, then replaced evil with good; then, indeed, I am forgiving, the Benevolent. 27:11

  إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوٓءٍۢ فَإِنِّى غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• Set your direction toward the Law, wholly turned toward God — the original nature God gave mankind, as He created them. There is no changing God's creation: that is the upright Law, but most people do not know — turning toward Him, guard yourselves toward Him, maintain the Contact, and do not be among those who associate partners with God, 30:32

  فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًۭا فِطْرَتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِى فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ ٱللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًۭا

• and they have not changed in the least — so that God may reward the truthful for their truthfulness, and punish the hypocrites, if He wills, or turn to them [in forgiveness]. 33:24

  وَمَا بَدَّلُوا۟ تَبْدِيلًۭا لِّيَجْزِىَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ بِصِدْقِهِمْ وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ إِن شَآءَ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ

• It is not lawful for you [to marry other] women after this, nor to exchange them for other wives, even were their beauty to please you — except she who is bound to you by pledge. 33:52

  لَّا يَحِلُّ لَكَ ٱلنِّسَآءُ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ أَن تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجٍۢ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ

• and you will never find in God's norm any change. 33:62

  وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًۭا

• and We replaced their two gardens with two gardens bearing bitter fruit, tamarisk, and a few lote trees. 34:16

  وَبَدَّلْنَٰهُم بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ ذَوَاتَىْ أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍۢ وَأَثْلٍۢ وَشَىْءٍۢ مِّن سِدْرٍۢ قَلِيلٍۢ

• But you will never find any change to God's pattern, 35:43

  فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًۭا

• Fir'awn said: "Leave me to kill Moussa, and let him call upon his Guardian! I fear he may change your Law or bring about corruption in the land." 40:26

  وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ذَرُونِىٓ أَقْتُلْ مُوسَىٰ وَلْيَدْعُ رَبَّهُۥٓ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمْ أَوْ أَن يُظْهِرَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْفَسَادَ

• And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people who will not be like you. 47:38

  وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوٓا۟ أَمْثَٰلَكُم

• They want to change the word of God. 48:15

  يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُبَدِّلُوا۟ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ

• And you will never find any change in the rule of God. 48:23

  وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًۭا

• The word does not change with Me, and I am not unjust to the constrained at all. 50:29

  مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّٰمٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

• It is We who have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outrun in replacing you with your likenesses and producing you in that which you do not know. 56:61

  نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

• It may be that his Guardian, if he divorces you, will give him in exchange wives better than you: true to God alone, believing, devoted, repentant, obedient, free in their movement, previously married or virgins. 66:5

  عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُۥٓ إِن طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَن يُبْدِلَهُۥٓ أَزْوَٰجًا خَيْرًۭا مِّنكُنَّ مُسْلِمَٰتٍۢ مُّؤْمِنَٰتٍۢ قَٰنِتَٰتٍۢ تَٰٓئِبَٰتٍ عَٰبِدَٰتٍۢ سَٰٓئِحَٰتٍۢ ثَيِّبَٰتٍۢ وَأَبْكَارًۭا

• They said: 'Woe to us! We have indeed been transgressors. It may be that our Guardian will give us a better one in exchange; to our Guardian we turn in hope.' 68:32

  قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَٰغِينَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ

• So I swear by the Guardian of the risings and the settings that indeed We are able to replace them with better than them, and nothing can outrun Us. 70:41

  فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

• It is We who created them and strengthened their frame; and were We to will it, We could replace them entirely with their likenesses. 76:28

  نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا
