• and He leads astray by it only the oversteppers, those who break the engagement of God after it was concluded, sever what God ordered to be joined, and sow corruption on the earth. 2:27

  وَمَا يُضِلُّ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا ٱلْفَٰسِقِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ

• And remember when We appointed for Moussa forty nights; then you took the calf [as a deity], after him, and you were unjust. 2:51

  وَإِذْ وَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

• Then We pardoned you after that, perhaps you would be grateful. 2:52

  ثُمَّ عَفَوْنَا عَنكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

• Then We resurrected you after your death, perhaps you would be grateful. 2:56

  ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَٰكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

• Then you turned away after that; 2:64

  ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ

• Then your cores hardened after that, so that they are like stone, or harder still. 2:74

  ثُمَّ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَهِىَ كَٱلْحِجَارَةِ أَوْ أَشَدُّ قَسْوَةًۭ

• Would you covet, then, that they believe for your sake, when a group among them used to hear the word of God, then displace it from its context, after having understood it, while knowing? 2:75

  أَفَتَطْمَعُونَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ لَكُمْ وَقَدْ كَانَ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ

• We indeed gave Moussa the Scripture, and We made other messengers follow after him. 2:87

  وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِ

• Moussa indeed came to you with the clear proofs; then you took the calf [as a deity], after him, and you were unjust. 2:92

  وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

• Many, among the people of the Scripture, would like to bring you back, after your faith, to a denial-disowning, 2:109

  وَدَّ كَثِيرٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَوْ يَرُدُّونَكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كُفَّارًا

• out of envy, from themselves, after the truth has become clear to them. 2:109

  حَسَدًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ أَنفُسِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْحَقُّ

• And were you to follow their emotions, after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have, against God, neither protector nor helper. 2:120

  وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَ ٱلَّذِى جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

• Were you witnesses, when death presented itself to Yaacoub, when he said to his sons: "What will you obey after me?" 2:133

  أَمْ كُنتُمْ شُهَدَآءَ إِذْ حَضَرَ يَعْقُوبَ ٱلْمَوْتُ إِذْ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِى

• And were you to follow their emotions, after what has come to you of knowledge, you would then indeed be among the unjust. 2:145

  وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِنَّكَ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

• Those who hide what We have sent down of clear proofs and guidance, after We have made it clear to mankind in the Scripture — those are the ones God curses, and whom those who curse, curse, 2:159

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَٱلْهُدَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنَّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ ٱللَّٰعِنُونَ

• There are indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, in the alternation of night and day, in the ship that sails at sea laden with what benefits mankind, in the water that God sends down from the sky and by which He gives life to the earth after its death, spreading in it every kind of living being, in the diversity of the winds, and in the cloud subjected between the sky and the earth — signs for a people who reason. 2:164

  إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلَّتِى تَجْرِى فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن مَّآءٍۢ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍۢ وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ

• and those who differ about the Scripture are indeed in a deep rupture. 2:176

  وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• And whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment. 2:178

  فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

• And whoever modifies it after having heard it, the transgression thereof falls only upon those who modify it. 2:181

  فَمَنۢ بَدَّلَهُۥ بَعْدَمَا سَمِعَهُۥ فَإِنَّمَآ إِثْمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ يُبَدِّلُونَهُۥٓ

• And if you falter after the clear proofs have come to you, know then that God is All-Powerful, Wise. 2:209

  فَإِن زَلَلْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْكُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

• And whoever changes the blessing of God after it has come to him — God is indeed severe in punishment. 2:211

  وَمَن يُبَدِّلْ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ

• after the clear proofs had come to them, out of transgression among themselves. 2:213

  مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ

• If he repudiates her [a third time], she is no longer lawful for him thereafter, until she marries a husband other than him. 2:230

  فَإِن طَلَّقَهَا فَلَا تَحِلُّ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدُ حَتَّىٰ تَنكِحَ زَوْجًا غَيْرَهُۥ

• Have you not seen the court, among the Children of Israel, after Moussa, when they said to a prophet of theirs: "Raise up for us a king, that we may fight in the way of God"? 2:246

  أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ مِنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ قَالُوا۟ لِنَبِىٍّۢ لَّهُمُ ٱبْعَثْ لَنَا مَلِكًۭا نُّقَٰتِلْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

• And had God willed, those who came after them would not have fought one another, after the clear proofs had come to them; 2:253

  وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا ٱقْتَتَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ

• He said: "How will God bring this back to life, after its death?" God then caused him to die a hundred years, then He resurrected him. 2:259

  قَالَ أَنَّىٰ يُحْىِۦ هَٰذِهِ ٱللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا فَأَمَاتَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِا۟ئَةَ عَامٍۢ ثُمَّ بَعَثَهُۥ

• "Our Guardian, do not let our cores deviate after You have guided us, and grant us, from Yourself, a benevolence; 3:8

  رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً

• And those to whom the Scripture was given diverged only after knowledge had come to them, 3:19

  وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ

• and what it has done of evil, it would wish there were between that and itself an immense distance. 3:30

  وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍۢ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًۭا

• To whoever would dispute with you about this, after knowledge has come to you, say: "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray fervently, and call the curse of God upon the liars." 3:61

  فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

• when the Tawrah and the Injil were sent down only after him? 3:65

  وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ وَٱلْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ

• Would he order you to deny-disown, after you have become true to God alone? 3:80

  أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِٱلْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

• Whoever turns away after that, those are the oversteppers. 3:82

  فَمَن تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

• How would God guide a people who denied-disowned after having believed, and after having testified that the messenger is true, and the clear proofs had come to them? 3:86

  كَيْفَ يَهْدِى ٱللَّهُ قَوْمًۭا كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلرَّسُولَ حَقٌّۭ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ

• Those are the ones whose reward is that upon them will weigh the curse of God, the Agents, and mankind, all together, wherein they will abide eternally; the punishment will not be lightened for them, and they will not be granted a delay — except those who turn back [to God] after that, and reform: God is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 3:89

  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

• Those who deny-disown after having believed, then increase in denial-disowning, their repentance will never be accepted, 3:90

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِهِمْ ثُمَّ ٱزْدَادُوا۟ كُفْرًۭا لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ

• Whoever, after that, invents the lie against God — those are the unjust. 3:94

  فَمَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

• O you who have believed! if you obey a group among those to whom the Scripture was given, they will turn you back, after your faith, to denial-disowning. 3:100

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن تُطِيعُوا۟ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ كَٰفِرِينَ

• And do not be like those who divided themselves and fell into disagreement after the clear proofs had come to them. 3:105

  وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ

• As for those whose faces will have darkened: "Did you deny-disown after your faith? Taste, then, the punishment, for having denied-disowned." 3:106

  فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

• until, having weakened, you disputed about the matter, and disobeyed, after He had shown you what you loved. 3:152

  حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَٰزَعْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَىٰكُم مَّا تُحِبُّونَ

• Then He sent down upon you, after the anguish, a tranquility, a drowsiness that enveloped a group among you, 3:154

  ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةًۭ نُّعَاسًۭا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةًۭ مِّنكُمْ

• and if He abandons you, who then could help you after Him? 3:160

  وَإِن يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَنصُرُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ

• They rejoice in a blessing from God and a favor, and [in the fact] that God does not let the reward of the believers be lost, those who responded to God and to the messenger after the wound had struck them. 3:172

  يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍۢ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلْقَرْحُ

• after [the execution of] a testament he may have made, or a debt. 4:11

  مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍۢ يُوصِى بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ

• but if they have a child, to you belongs a quarter of what they leave, after [the execution of] a testament they may have made, or a debt. 4:12

  فَإِن كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌۭ فَلَكُمُ ٱلرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍۢ يُوصِينَ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍۢ

• but if you have a child, to them belongs an eighth of what you leave, after [the execution of] a testament you may have made, or a debt. 4:12

  فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌۭ فَلَهُنَّ ٱلثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍۢ تُوصُونَ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍۢ

• but if they are more numerous than that, they share in the third, after [the execution of] a testament that may have been made, or a debt, without harm [to the heirs]. 4:12

  فَإِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَكْثَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فِى ٱلثُّلُثِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍۢ يُوصَىٰ بِهَآ أَوْ دَيْنٍ غَيْرَ مُضَآرٍّۢ

• And no blame upon you for what you mutually agree upon, beyond the fixed obligation. 4:24

  وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا تَرَٰضَيْتُم بِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْفَرِيضَةِ

• The Diverter wants to lead them far astray. 4:60

  وَيُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَن يُضِلَّهُمْ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًۭا

• And whoever opposes the messenger, after guidance has become clear to him, and follows a path other than that of the believers, We will leave him to what he has turned to, and We will burn him in Jahannam. 4:115

  وَمَن يُشَاقِقِ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِۦ مَا تَوَلَّىٰ وَنُصْلِهِۦ جَهَنَّمَ

• And whoever associates with God strays far astray. 4:116

  وَمَن يُشْرِكْ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

• And whoever denies-disowns God, His Agents, His scriptures, His messengers, and the Last Day strays far astray. 4:136

  وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَٰٓئِكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

• Then they took the calf [as a deity], after the clear proofs had come to them; but We passed over that, 4:153

  ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ

• We have indeed revealed to you, as We revealed to Nuh and the prophets after him, 4:163

  إِنَّآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ كَمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍۢ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ

• Messengers, bearers of good tidings and warners, so that people might have no argument against God after the messengers. 4:165

  رُّسُلًۭا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةٌۢ بَعْدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ

• Those who denied-disowned and turned away from the path of God have indeed strayed far astray. 4:167

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ قَدْ ضَلُّوا۟ ضَلَٰلًۢا بَعِيدًا

• But whoever among you denies-disowns after that has strayed from the straight path." 5:12

  فَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ

• Our envoys indeed came to them with clear proofs; then many of them, after that, are indeed excessive on the earth. 5:32

  وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنْهُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ

• But whoever turns back [to God] after his injustice, and reforms, God turns toward him with clemency. 5:39

  فَمَن تَابَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ظُلْمِهِۦ وَأَصْلَحَ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِ

• They displace words from their context, saying: "If you are given this, take it; and if you are not given it, beware." 5:41

  يُحَرِّفُونَ ٱلْكَلِمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوَاضِعِهِۦ يَقُولُونَ إِنْ أُوتِيتُمْ هَٰذَا فَخُذُوهُ وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْتَوْهُ فَٱحْذَرُوا۟

• And how would they take you as judge, when they have the Tawrah, wherein is the judgment of God, and then they turn away from it? 5:43

  وَكَيْفَ يُحَكِّمُونَكَ وَعِندَهُمُ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُ فِيهَا حُكْمُ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّوْنَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ

• Whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment. 5:94

  فَمَنِ ٱعْتَدَىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَهُۥ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ

• You will detain them both after the Contact, and they will both swear by God, if you have doubts: "We will not trade it for any price, even toward a relative, 5:106

  تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِٱللَّهِ إِنِ ٱرْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِى بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ

• That is closer to their bringing testimony in its proper form, or their fearing that other oaths might be opposed to their oaths. 5:108

  ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يَأْتُوا۟ بِٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهَآ أَوْ يَخَافُوٓا۟ أَن تُرَدَّ أَيْمَٰنٌۢ بَعْدَ أَيْمَٰنِهِمْ

• God said: "I am sending it down to you; but whoever among you denies-disowns thereafter, I will punish him with a punishment with which I will punish none other among all beings." 5:115

  قَالَ ٱللَّهُ إِنِّى مُنَزِّلُهَا عَلَيْكُمْ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بَعْدُ مِنكُمْ فَإِنِّىٓ أُعَذِّبُهُۥ عَذَابًۭا لَّآ أُعَذِّبُهُۥٓ أَحَدًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

• and We raised up, after them, another generation. 6:6

  وَأَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ

• Your Guardian has prescribed benevolence upon Himself: whoever among you commits evil out of ignorance, then repents after that and reforms — He is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence." 6:54

  كَتَبَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ أَنَّهُۥ مَنْ عَمِلَ مِنكُمْ سُوٓءًۢا بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَنَّهُۥ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• And if the Diverter makes you forget, do not remain, after this reminder, with the unjust people. 6:68

  وَإِمَّا يُنسِيَنَّكَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ فَلَا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ مَعَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

• Say: "Should we invoke, besides God, what neither benefits nor harms us, and be turned back on our heels after God has guided us, like one whom the diverters have lured on earth, bewildered, 6:71

  قُلْ أَنَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُنَا وَلَا يَضُرُّنَا وَنُرَدُّ عَلَىٰٓ أَعْقَابِنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ كَٱلَّذِى ٱسْتَهْوَتْهُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ حَيْرَانَ

• If He wills, He makes you disappear, and He makes succeed after you what He wills, as He brought you forth from the descendants of another people. 6:133

  إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفْ مِنۢ بَعْدِكُم مَّا يَشَآءُ كَمَآ أَنشَأَكُم مِّن ذُرِّيَّةِ قَوْمٍ ءَاخَرِينَ

• And do not sow corruption on the earth after its setting right, 7:56

  وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا

• Remember that He made you successors after the people of Nuh, and gave you an increase of stature in constitution. 7:69

  وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَزَادَكُمْ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ بَصْۜطَةًۭ

• And remember that He made you successors after Aad, and settled you on the earth: you take, in its plains, castles, and you carve the mountains into dwellings. 7:74

  وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍۢ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًۭا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًۭا

• and do not sow corruption on the earth after its setting right. 7:85

  وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَٰحِهَا

• We would indeed have invented a lie against God, if we returned to your creed after God has saved us from it. 7:89

  قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا

• Has it not become clearly apparent to those who inherit the earth after its [past] inhabitants, that, had We willed, We would strike them for their offenses, 7:100

  أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَآ أَن لَّوْ نَشَآءُ أَصَبْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

• Then We sent, after them, Moussa with Our signs, to Fir'awn and his court, but they were unjust toward them. 7:103

  ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَظَلَمُوا۟ بِهَا

• They said: "We were mistreated before you came to us, and after you came to us." 7:129

  قَالُوٓا۟ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا

• And the people of Moussa took, after him, from their ornaments, a calf, a body that lowed. 7:148

  وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ

• When Moussa returned to his people, angry, grieved, he said: "How evil is what you have done in my place, after me! 7:150

  وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ غَضْبَٰنَ أَسِفًۭا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِى مِنۢ بَعْدِىٓ

• And those who committed evil deeds, then repented after that and believed — your Guardian, after that, is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 7:153

  وَٱلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا وَءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• Then a posterity succeeded them, who inherited the Scripture, taking the fleeting goods of this lower world, and saying: "It will be forgiven us"; and if a similar good comes to them again, they take it [just the same]. 7:169

  فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌۭ وَرِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌۭ مِّثْلُهُۥ يَأْخُذُوهُ

• [This,] lest you say, on the Day of Appearance: "We were indeed heedless of this", or that you say: "It was our ancestors who, before, associated, and we were only a descendance after them. 7:173

  شَهِدْنَآ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةًۭ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

• In what discourse, after this one, will they then believe? 7:185

  فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

• As when your Guardian brought you out of your dwelling in truth, while a group of believers were averse to it, disputing with you about the truth once it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death, their eyes open. 8:6

  كَمَآ أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَيْتِكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَكَٰرِهُونَ يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ فِى ٱلْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

• And those who believed afterward, emigrated, and strove with you — those are among you. 8:75

  وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ مَعَكُمْ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مِنكُمْ

• But if they break their oaths after their engagement, and attack your Law, then fight the leaders of denial-disowning, 9:12

  وَإِن نَّكَثُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا۟ فِى دِينِكُمْ فَقَٰتِلُوٓا۟ أَئِمَّةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ

• Then God turns with clemency, after that, toward whom He wills. 9:27

  ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ

• O you who have believed! the associators are nothing but impurity: let them not approach the inviolable place of prostration, after this year of theirs. 9:28

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌۭ فَلَا يَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلْمَسْجِدَ ٱلْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَٰذَا

• Had it been a near gain and an easy journey, they would have followed you; but the distance seemed long to them. 9:42

  لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضًۭا قَرِيبًۭا وَسَفَرًۭا قَاصِدًۭا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُ

• you have denied-disowned after your faith. 9:66

  قَدْ كَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْ

• yet they did indeed utter the word of denial-disowning, and they denied-disowned after having been true to God, and they plotted what they could not attain. 9:74

  وَلَقَدْ قَالُوا۟ كَلِمَةَ ٱلْكُفْرِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بَعْدَ إِسْلَٰمِهِمْ وَهَمُّوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَنَالُوا۟

• It was not for the Prophet, nor for those who believed, to ask forgiveness for the associators, even if they were close relatives, once it had become clear to them that they were the companions of the Blaze. 9:113

  مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَن يَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوٓا۟ أُو۟لِى قُرْبَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

• It was not for God to lead a people astray after having guided them, without first having made clear to them what they must guard themselves against. 9:115

  وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًۢا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَىٰهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُبَيِّنَ لَهُم مَّا يَتَّقُونَ

• God has indeed turned with clemency toward the Prophet, the emigrants, and the Helpers [those who took in the refugees], who followed him in the hour of hardship, after the cores of a group among them had almost wavered; then He turned toward them with clemency — He is, toward them, full of bonté, full of benevolence — and [He turned] toward the three who had stayed behind, 9:118

  لَّقَد تَّابَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ وَٱلْأَنصَارِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ فِى سَاعَةِ ٱلْعُسْرَةِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِنَّهُۥ بِهِمْ رَءُوفٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ وَعَلَى ٱلثَّلَٰثَةِ ٱلَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا۟

• No intercessor except after His permission. 10:3

  مَا مِن شَفِيعٍ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِذْنِهِۦ

• Then We made you successors on the earth, after them, so as to see how you would act. 10:14

  ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

• And when We let people taste a benevolence after a hardship that had touched them, there they are, scheming against Our signs. 10:21

  وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُمْ إِذَا لَهُم مَّكْرٌۭ فِىٓ ءَايَاتِنَا

• After the truth, what is there but error? 10:32

  فَمَاذَا بَعْدَ ٱلْحَقِّ إِلَّا ٱلضَّلَٰلُ

• Then, after him, We sent messengers to their respective peoples; they brought them clear proofs, but they were not disposed to believe what they had first denied. 10:74

  ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا كَانُوا۟ لِيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِمَا كَذَّبُوا۟ بِهِۦ مِن قَبْلُ

• Then, after them, We sent Moussa and Harun to Fir'awn and his court, with Our signs; but they were arrogant and were a severed people. 10:75

  ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ

• And if you say: "You will be raised after death," those who deny will surely say: "This is nothing but a manifest illusion." 11:7

  وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

• And if We let him taste a blessing after adversity has touched him, he will surely say: "The ills have departed from me": 11:10

  وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ نَعْمَآءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ عَنِّىٓ

• And it was said: "Let the unjust people become nothing but a distant memory!" 11:44

  وَقِيلَ بُعْدًۭا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

• Let Aad, the people of Hud, become nothing but a distant memory! 11:60

  أَلَا بُعْدًۭا لِّعَادٍۢ قَوْمِ هُودٍۢ

• Let Thamud become nothing but a distant memory! 11:68

  أَلَا بُعْدًۭا لِّثَمُودَ

• and it is not far from the unjust. 11:83

  وَمَا هِىَ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍۢ

• and the people of Lut are not far from you. 11:89

  وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍۢ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍۢ

• Let Madyan become nothing but a distant memory, as Thamud did! 11:95

  أَلَا بُعْدًۭا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ

• Kill Youssof, or banish him to some land, so that your father's face may be freed for you alone, and that you may be, after that, righteous people." 12:9

  ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًۭا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا صَٰلِحِينَ

• Then it seemed good to them, after seeing the proofs, to imprison him for a time. 12:35

  ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا رَأَوُا۟ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَيَسْجُنُنَّهُۥ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ

• The one of the two who had been saved said, remembering after a long while: "I will inform you of its interpretation: so send me forth." 12:45

  وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى نَجَا مِنْهُمَا وَٱدَّكَرَ بَعْدَ أُمَّةٍ أَنَا۠ أُنَبِّئُكُم بِتَأْوِيلِهِۦ فَأَرْسِلُونِ

• Then there will come, after that, seven harsh years, which will consume what you had stored for them, except the little you set aside. 12:48

  ثُمَّ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ سَبْعٌۭ شِدَادٌۭ يَأْكُلْنَ مَا قَدَّمْتُمْ لَهُنَّ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّمَّا تُحْصِنُونَ

• Then there will come, after that, a year in which the people will be relieved by rain, and in which they will press [the fruits]." 12:49

  ثُمَّ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَامٌۭ فِيهِ يُغَاثُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَفِيهِ يَعْصِرُونَ

• He has been good to me, when He brought me out of prison, and brought you from the countryside, after the Diverter had sown discord between me and my brothers. 12:100

  وَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ بِىٓ إِذْ أَخْرَجَنِى مِنَ ٱلسِّجْنِ وَجَآءَ بِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْبَدْوِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن نَّزَغَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَ إِخْوَتِىٓ

• And those who break God's covenant after its ratification, sever what God has commanded to be joined, and spread corruption on the earth — those are the ones to whom belongs the curse, and to whom belongs the worst of abodes. 13:25

  وَٱلَّذِينَ يَنقُضُونَ عَهْدَ ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مِيثَٰقِهِۦ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَآ أَمَرَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِۦٓ أَن يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ

• and if you followed their emotions after knowledge has come to you, you would have, against God, neither protector nor defender. 13:37

  وَلَئِنِ ٱتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَآءَهُم بَعْدَمَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا وَاقٍۢ

• those who prefer the present life to the last life, who turn away from God's path and seek to make it crooked: those are the ones in deep error. 14:3

  ٱلَّذِينَ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا عَلَى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• Has there not reached you the account of those before you, the people of Nuh, of the Recidivists [Aad] and the Depleters [Thamud], and those who came after them, 14:9

  أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

• Their Guardian then revealed to them: "We shall surely destroy the wrongdoers, and We shall surely establish you on this land after them. 14:14

  فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ لَنُهْلِكَنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ وَلَنُسْكِنَنَّكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

• That is the deep error. 14:18

  ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ

• And those who emigrated for God, after having suffered injustice, We shall surely establish them in a fine position in the present life; 16:41

  وَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ

• And God sent down from the sky a water, by which He revived the earth after its death: 16:65

  وَٱللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ

• and among you are those brought back to the most abject age, so as to know nothing more after having known. 16:70

  وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَىْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍۢ شَيْـًٔا

• and do not break oaths after affirming them, having taken God as a guarantor over you: 16:91

  وَلَا تَنقُضُوا۟ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ بَعْدَ تَوْكِيدِهَا وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيْكُمْ كَفِيلًا

• And do not be like her who unravels her thread, after having firmly spun it, reducing it to fibers; you take your oaths as a means of deceit among yourselves, on the pretext that one community is more numerous than another: 16:92

  وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّتِى نَقَضَتْ غَزْلَهَا مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ أَنكَٰثًۭا تَتَّخِذُونَ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ أُمَّةٌ هِىَ أَرْبَىٰ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ

• And do not take your oaths as a means of deceit among yourselves, or a foot would slip after having been firm, and you would taste evil for having turned away from God's path; and you would have an immense punishment. 16:94

  وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ دَخَلًۢا بَيْنَكُمْ فَتَزِلَّ قَدَمٌۢ بَعْدَ ثُبُوتِهَا وَتَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِمَا صَدَدتُّمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَكُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ

• Whoever denies God after having believed — except one who is coerced, while his Core remains at peace in faith — 16:106

  مَن كَفَرَ بِٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِيمَٰنِهِۦٓ إِلَّا مَنْ أُكْرِهَ وَقَلْبُهُۥ مُطْمَئِنٌّۢ بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ

• Then, your Guardian, toward those who emigrated after having been tried, then strove and were patient — your Guardian, after that, is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 16:110

  ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا۟ ثُمَّ جَٰهَدُوا۟ وَصَبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• Then, your Guardian, toward those who did evil out of ignorance, then repented after that and reformed — your Guardian, after that, is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 16:119

  ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍۢ ثُمَّ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوٓا۟ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

• How many generations have We destroyed after Nuh! 17:17

  وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ نُوحٍۢ

• And We said after him to the Children of Israel: "Dwell in this land," 17:104

  وَقُلْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ لِبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱسْكُنُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ

• He said: "If I question you about anything after this, do not keep me as a companion; you will then have, from me, an excuse." 18:76

  قَالَ إِن سَأَلْتُكَ عَن شَىْءٍۭ بَعْدَهَا فَلَا تُصَٰحِبْنِى قَدْ بَلَغْتَ مِن لَّدُنِّى عُذْرًۭا

• Then there succeeded them a generation who neglected the Contact and followed desires: so they will meet with error — except one who repents, believes, and acts righteously; those will enter the Garden and be wronged in nothing: the Gardens of Eden which the All-Benevolent has promised His obedient ones, in what escapes their presence. 19:61

  فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ

• He said: «We have indeed tried your people after you, and as-Samiri has led them astray.» 20:85

  قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدْ فَتَنَّا قَوْمَكَ مِنۢ بَعْدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ ٱلسَّامِرِىُّ

• How many a city, doing wrong, have We shattered, raising up after it another people! 21:11

  وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍۢ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةًۭ وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

• And by God, I will surely devise something against your idols after you have turned your backs and gone. 21:57

  وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَٰمَكُم بَعْدَ أَن تُوَلُّوا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ

• As for those to whom the best has already gone forth from Us, those will be kept far from it: 21:101

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلْحُسْنَىٰٓ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ

• We have certainly written in the Formulary, after the Remembrance, that the earth will be inherited by My righteous obedient ones. 21:105

  وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِى ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلذِّكْرِ أَنَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِىَ ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ

• and I do not know whether what you are promised is near or far.' 21:109

  وَإِنْ أَدْرِىٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٌۭ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ

• And among you is he who dies [early], and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit age, so that he knows nothing after having known [much]. 22:5

  وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰٓ أَرْذَلِ ٱلْعُمُرِ لِكَيْلَا يَعْلَمَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عِلْمٍۢ شَيْـًۭٔا

• That is indeed far-reaching error — he calls upon 22:13

  ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلضَّلَٰلُ ٱلْبَعِيدُ يَدْعُوا۟

• And indeed, the wrongdoers are plunged in extreme division. 22:53

  وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ لَفِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• Then, after that, you are destined to die, 23:15

  ثُمَّ إِنَّكُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ

• Then We brought forth, after them, another generation, and We sent among them a messenger, [one] of themselves: Obey God, you have no deity other than Him. 23:32

  ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا ءَاخَرِينَ فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًۭا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ

• Far removed then be the unjust people! 23:41

  فَبُعْدًۭا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

• Then We brought forth, after them, other generations. 23:42

  ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا ءَاخَرِينَ

• Far removed then be a people that does not believe! 23:44

  فَبُعْدًۭا لِّقَوْمٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

• and never accept their testimony again — those are the oversteppers, except those who repented after that and reformed, for God is ever Forgiving, benevolent. 24:5

  وَلَا تَقْبَلُوا۟ لَهُمْ شَهَٰدَةً أَبَدًۭا وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• And whoever compels them — after their compulsion, God is ever Forgiving, benevolent [toward them]. 24:33

  وَمَن يُكْرِههُّنَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ إِكْرَٰهِهِنَّ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• And they say: We believe in God and in the messenger, and we obey — then a group among them turns away after that; 24:47

  وَيَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعْنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ

• God has promised those among you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will surely establish them as successors on the earth, as He established as successors those before them, that He will surely establish firmly for them their Law which He has approved for them, and that He will surely change their state, after their fear, into security. 24:55

  وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱرْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًۭا

• And whoever denies after that — those are the oversteppers. 24:55

  وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ

• O you who believe, let those bound by pledge and those among you who have not yet reached the age of reflection ask your permission [to enter], at three times: before the Contact of dawn, when you remove your garments at midday, and after the Contact of evening — 24:58

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِيَسْتَـْٔذِنكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا۟ ٱلْحُلُمَ مِنكُمْ ثَلَٰثَ مَرَّٰتٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلْفَجْرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنۢ بَعْدِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلْعِشَآءِ

• There is no fault, neither for you nor for them, outside these times, 24:58

  لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا عَلَيْهِمْ جُنَاحٌۢ بَعْدَهُنَّ

• And We have prepared, for whoever denies the Hour, the Blaze. When it sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and its roar. 25:12

  وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًۭا وَزَفِيرًۭا

• And the day the unjust one bites his hands, he will say: Ah, if only I had taken a way with the messenger! Woe to me! If only I had not taken so-and-so as an intimate friend! He led me astray from the Reminder after it had reached me. 25:29

  وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا لَّقَدْ أَضَلَّنِى عَنِ ٱلذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَنِى

• Then We drowned afterward those who remained. 26:120

  ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ

• except those who have believed, done righteous works, invoked God abundantly, and defended themselves after being wronged; 26:227

  إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟

• except one who has done wrong, then replaced evil with good; then, indeed, I am forgiving, the Benevolent. 27:11

  إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوٓءٍۢ فَإِنِّى غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

• She did not stay away long, 27:22

  فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍۢ

• We gave Moussa the Scripture, after having destroyed the first generations, as insights for the people, guidance, and benevolence, so that they might remember. 28:43

  وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَآ أَهْلَكْنَا ٱلْقُرُونَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًۭى وَرَحْمَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

• There are their dwellings, left uninhabited after them, save for a very few — and it is We who were the heirs. 28:58

  فَتِلْكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ

• Let them not turn you away from the signs of God after they have been revealed to you; 28:87

  وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أُنزِلَتْ إِلَيْكَ

• And if you ask them who sends down water from the sky and gives life through it to the earth after its death, they will surely say: "God"; 29:63

  وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ

• The Romans were victorious, in the nearest land; but after their victory, they will be defeated, within a few years — 30:4

  غلبت ٱلرُّومُ فِىٓ أَدْنَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سيغلبون فِى بِضْعِ سِنِينَ

• to God belongs the command, before and after. 30:4

  لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِنۢ بَعْدُ

• He brings the living out of the dead, and brings the dead out of the living, and gives life to the earth after its death; 30:19

  يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَيُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا

• And among His signs is that He shows you the lightning, arousing fear and hope, and sends down water from the sky by which He gives life to the earth after its death; 30:24

  وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًۭا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَيُحْىِۦ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ

• So look at the trace of God's benevolence: how He gives life to the earth after its death; 30:50

  فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِ رَحْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ

• And if We sent a wind, and they saw it turn yellow, they would persist, after that, in denial. 30:51

  وَلَئِنْ أَرْسَلْنَا رِيحًۭا فَرَأَوْهُ مُصْفَرًّۭا لَّظَلُّوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ يَكْفُرُونَ

• God is He who created you from weakness, then made, after weakness, strength, then made, after strength, weakness and old age; 30:54

  ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعْفٍۢ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍۢ قُوَّةًۭ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍۢ ضَعْفًۭا وَشَيْبَةًۭ

• And if whatever trees are on the earth were pens, and the sea, extended by seven seas after it, [were ink], the words of God would not be exhausted: 31:27

  وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِن شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَٰمٌۭ وَٱلْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍۢ مَّا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ

• It is not lawful for you [to marry other] women after this, nor to exchange them for other wives, even were their beauty to please you — except she who is bound to you by pledge. 33:52

  لَّا يَحِلُّ لَكَ ٱلنِّسَآءُ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَلَآ أَن تَبَدَّلَ بِهِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَٰجٍۢ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ حُسْنُهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ

• And it is not for you to trouble the messenger of God, nor to marry his wives after him, ever; 33:53

  وَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُؤْذُوا۟ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَن تَنكِحُوٓا۟ أَزْوَٰجَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا

• No — those who do not believe in the Hereafter are in punishment and far-reaching error. 34:8

  بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ وَٱلضَّلَٰلِ ٱلْبَعِيدِ

• But they said, "Our Guardian, lengthen the distances between our journeys" — and they wronged themselves; so We made them into cautionary tales, and We disintegrated them utterly. 34:19

  فَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا بَٰعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقْنَٰهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ

• Those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak, "Was it we who turned you away from guidance after it had come to you? No — you were rather severed." 34:32

  قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوٓا۟ أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَٰكُمْ عَنِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَكُم بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ

• But how could they reach, from so distant a place, what they had denied before? 34:53

  وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلتَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ مِن قَبْلُ

• And they cast conjectures about what escapes the senses from a distant place. 34:53

  وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ مِن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• and whatever He withholds, none can release it after Him. 35:2

  وَمَا يُمْسِكْ فَلَا مُرْسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ

• It is God who sends the winds, which stir up clouds; We drive them to a dead land, and by them We bring the earth to life after its death. 35:9

  وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًۭا فَسُقْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍۢ مَّيِّتٍۢ فَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا

• and were they to cease, none besides Him could hold them. 35:41

  وَلَئِن زَالَتَآ إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ

• And We did not send down upon his people, after him, any army from the sky, nor did We need to send one down. 36:28

  وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ

• He said: "My Guardian, forgive me, and grant me a kingdom that will not befit anyone after me; 38:35

  قَالَ رَبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَهَبْ لِى مُلْكًۭا لَّا يَنۢبَغِى لِأَحَدٍۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِىٓ

• and you will surely know its truth after a time." 38:88

  وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُۥ بَعْدَ حِينٍۭ

• He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation, in three darknesses; 39:6

  يَخْلُقُكُمْ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمْ خَلْقًۭا مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍۢ فِى ظُلُمَٰتٍۢ ثَلَٰثٍۢ

• Before them, the people of Nuh denied, and the factions after them, 40:5

  كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

• The one who had believed said: "O my people, I fear for you a day like that of the factions, like the fate of the people of Nuh, the Recidivists [Aad], the Depleters [Thamud], and those who came after them; 40:31

  وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مِثْلَ دَأْبِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

• Yusuf certainly came to you before with clear proofs, and you did not cease to be in doubt about what he brought you, until, when he perished, you said: 'God will not send a messenger after him'; 40:34

  وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِن قَبْلُ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِى شَكٍّۢ مِّمَّا جَآءَكُم بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَن يَبْعَثَ ٱللَّهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ رَسُولًۭا

• those are called from a distant place." 41:44

  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• And if We let him taste benevolence from Us after hardship that touched him, he will surely say: "This is mine by right, and I do not think the Hour is coming; and if I am returned to my Guardian, I will indeed have the best with Him." 41:50

  وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَٰهُ رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَٰذَا لِى وَمَآ أَظُنُّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَآئِمَةًۭ وَلَئِن رُّجِعْتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّ لِى عِندَهُۥ لَلْحُسْنَىٰ

• Say: "Have you considered? If this is from God and you deny it, who is more astray than one who is in deep estrangement?" 41:52

  قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُم بِهِۦ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِى شِقَاقٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• Yet they became divided only after knowledge had come to them, 42:14

  وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ

• And those who inherited the Scripture after them are in grave, unsettling doubt about it. 42:14

  وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِى شَكٍّۢ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍۢ

• And those who dispute about God after He has been answered, their argument is void before their Guardian, and upon them is wrath, 42:16

  وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ٱسْتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌۭ

• Is it not true that those who dispute about the Hour are in far-reaching error? 42:18

  أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِى ٱلسَّاعَةِ لَفِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ

• It is He who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and who spreads out His benevolence; 42:28

  وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يُنَزِّلُ ٱلْغَيْثَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا۟ وَيَنشُرُ رَحْمَتَهُۥ

• And whoever defends himself after having suffered injustice, against such there is no course [of blame]; 42:41

  وَلَمَنِ ٱنتَصَرَ بَعْدَ ظُلْمِهِۦ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا عَلَيْهِم مِّن سَبِيلٍ

• And whoever God leaves astray has no protector after that. 42:44

  وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ

• until, when he comes to Us, he says: "Would that between me and you there were the distance of the two easts!" 43:38

  حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَنَا قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ

• And in your creation, and in the creatures He scatters about, are signs for a people who have certainty; and in the alternation of night and day, and what God sends down from the sky as provision, by which He revives the earth after its death, and in the shifting of the winds, are signs for a people who reason. 45:5

  وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍۢ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ

• So in what discourse, after God and His signs, do they believe? 45:6

  فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُؤْمِنُونَ

• They did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, 45:17

  فَمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ

• Have you seen the one who has taken his emotion [overriding reason] as his god? God knowingly left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his Core, and placed a veil over his sight. Who then will guide him after God? 45:23

  أَفَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍۢ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِۦ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَٰوَةًۭ فَمَن يَهْدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱللَّهِ

• They said: "O our people, we have heard a scripture sent down after Moussa, confirming what came before it, guiding to the truth and to a straight path. 46:30

  قَالُوا۟ يَٰقَوْمَنَآ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ

• then either grace freely, or exchange of captives, until the war lays down its burdens. 47:4

  فَإِمَّا مَنًّۢا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَآءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ ٱلْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا

• Indeed, those who turned back after guidance had become clear to them — it is the Diverter who enticed them [with fair appearances], 47:25

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱرْتَدُّوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَدْبَٰرِهِم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَى ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْ

• Indeed, those who deny, turn [people] away from the path of God, and oppose the Messenger after guidance has become clear to them, will not harm God in the least, 47:32

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَشَآقُّوا۟ ٱلرَّسُولَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ لَن يَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَيْـًۭٔا

• It is He who held back their hands from you, and your hands from them, in the hollow of Makka, after having given you victory over them. 48:24

  وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُم بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ

• What a wretched name is overstepping, after faith! 49:11

  بِئْسَ ٱلِٱسْمُ ٱلْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ ٱلْإِيمَٰنِ

• By the glorious Recitation! They marveled instead that a warner, one of their own, had come to them. Those who deny said: "This is a strange thing. When we are dead and become earth...? That return is far-fetched." 50:3

  وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌۭ

• His companion will say: 'Our Guardian, I did not make him transgress, but he was in deep error.' 50:27

  قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍۢ

• And the Garden will be brought near to the [people who are] mindful, not far off. 50:31

  وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ

• How many Agents are there in the heavens whose intercession avails nothing, except after God has permitted it, for whom He wills and approves. 53:26

  وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍۢ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ

• ...and [those who did so] afterward. Those are greater in degree than those who spent and fought afterward. 57:10

  أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدُ وَقَٰتَلُوا۟

• Know that God gives life to the earth after its death. 57:17

  ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا

• And those who came after them say: Our Guardian, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith, and put no rancor in our Cores toward those who believe. 59:10

  وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَٰنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلْإِيمَٰنِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِى قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّۭا لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟

• And when Issa, son of Maryam, said: O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of God to you, confirming what came before me of the Tawrah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose defining trait is Ahmad. 61:6

  وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًۭا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُولٍۢ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِى ٱسْمُهُۥٓ أَحْمَدُ

• You do not know: perhaps God will bring about, after that, a new turn of events. 65:1

  لَا تَدْرِى لَعَلَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ أَمْرًۭا

• God will bring ease after hardship. 65:7

  سَيَجْعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍۢ يُسْرًۭا

• and the Agents, moreover, are his support. 66:4

  وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ ظَهِيرٌ

• And do not obey every contemptible swearer of oaths, backbiter, spreader of slander, hinderer of good, transgressor, characterized offender, coarse and, moreover, a social parasite — merely because he has wealth and sons. When Our signs are recited to him, he says: 'Legends of the ancients!' 68:15

  وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍۢ مَّهِينٍ هَمَّازٍۢ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍۢ مَّنَّاعٍۢ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍۢ وَبَنِينَ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

• They see it as distant, while We see it as near. 70:7

  إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا

• Then in what statement, after this, will they believe? 77:50

  فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

• And the earth, after that, He spread out; He brought forth from it its water and its pasture, and the mountains, He set them firm — as provision for you and your livestock. 79:33

  وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا مَتَٰعًۭا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَٰمِكُمْ

• So what causes you to deny, after this, the Recompense? 95:7

  فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعْدُ بِٱلدِّينِ

• And those who were given the Scripture did not become divided except after the Clear Proof came to them. 98:4

  وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَةُ
