and when they are alone with one another, they say: "Will you relate to them what God has revealed to you, that they may dispute with you about it before your Guardian?" 2:76

and wherever you are, set your course for this anchor point, so that people may have no argument against you — except those among them who are unjust; do not fear them, then, but fear Me — 2:150

وَحَيْثُ مَا كُنتُمْ فَوَلُّوا۟ وُجُوهَكُمْ شَطْرَهُۥ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَيْكُمْ حُجَّةٌ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِى

Whoever performs the Hajj of the House — a debt owed to God — or performs the Umra, no blame upon him for visiting them. 2:158

فَمَنْ حَجَّ ٱلْبَيْتَ أَوِ ٱعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَن يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا

Say: "They are fixed appointments for mankind, and for the Hajj." 2:189

قُلْ هِىَ مَوَٰقِيتُ لِلنَّاسِ وَٱلْحَجِّ

And complete fully the Hajj and the Umra for God. 2:196

وَأَتِمُّوا۟ ٱلْحَجَّ وَٱلْعُمْرَةَ لِلَّهِ

And once secure, whoever enjoys the Umra until the Hajj, then whatever offering is easily available. 2:196

فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمْ فَمَن تَمَتَّعَ بِٱلْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى ٱلْحَجِّ فَمَا ٱسْتَيْسَرَ مِنَ ٱلْهَدْىِ

And whoever does not find the means, then an abstention of three days during the Hajj, and seven once you have returned: that is ten complete days. 2:196

فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍۢ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ وَسَبْعَةٍ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ تِلْكَ عَشَرَةٌۭ كَامِلَةٌۭ

The Hajj takes place in known months. 2:197

ٱلْحَجُّ أَشْهُرٌۭ مَّعْلُومَٰتٌۭ

Whoever commits himself thereby to the Hajj, then no obscenity, no transgression, and no dispute during the Hajj. 2:197

فَمَن فَرَضَ فِيهِنَّ ٱلْحَجَّ فَلَا رَفَثَ وَلَا فُسُوقَ وَلَا جِدَالَ فِى ٱلْحَجِّ

Have you not seen him who disputed with Ibrahim about his Guardian, because God had given him kingship? When Ibrahim said: "My Guardian is He who gives life and causes death", 2:258

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِى حَآجَّ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمَ فِى رَبِّهِۦٓ أَنْ ءَاتَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُلْكَ إِذْ قَالَ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ رَبِّىَ ٱلَّذِى يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ

If they dispute with you, say then: "I render my direction integral toward God, as do those who have followed me." 3:20

فَإِنْ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ

To whoever would dispute with you about this, after knowledge has come to you, say: "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray fervently, and call the curse of God upon the liars." 3:61

فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا۟ نَدْعُ أَبْنَآءَنَا وَأَبْنَآءَكُمْ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

O people of the Scripture! why do you dispute concerning Ibrahim, 3:65

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِىٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Here you are disputing about that of which you have some knowledge; but why do you dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? 3:66

هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ حَٰجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ فَلِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلْمٌۭ

Say: "The [true] guidance is the guidance of God" — [they say this] lest anyone be given the like of what you were given, or lest they dispute with you before your Guardian. 3:73

قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْهُدَىٰ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰٓ أَحَدٌۭ مِّثْلَ مَآ أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَآجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ

And the Hajj of the House is a duty toward God for mankind, for whoever has the capacity for it by a [practicable] way; 3:97

وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ حِجُّ ٱلْبَيْتِ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًۭا

Messengers, bearers of good tidings and warners, so that people might have no argument against God after the messengers. 4:165

رُّسُلًۭا مُّبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ لِئَلَّا يَكُونَ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ حُجَّةٌۢ بَعْدَ ٱلرُّسُلِ

And his people disputed with him. 6:80

وَحَآجَّهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ

He said: "Do you dispute with me about God, when He has guided me? 6:80

قَالَ أَتُحَٰٓجُّوٓنِّى فِى ٱللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَىٰنِ

And that is Our argument, which We gave to Ibrahim against his people. 6:83

وَتِلْكَ حُجَّتُنَآ ءَاتَيْنَٰهَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ

Say: "To God belongs the conclusive argument. 6:149

قُلْ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْحُجَّةُ ٱلْبَٰلِغَةُ

And a proclamation from God and His Messenger to mankind, on the day of the Great Convergence of the Hajj: God is exonerated from obligation toward the associators, and so is His Messenger. 9:3

وَأَذَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَجِّ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُۥ

Would you make the watering of the arrival and the maintenance of the inviolable place of prostration equivalent to one who has believed in God and the Last Day, and has striven in the way of God? 9:19

أَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ ٱلْحَآجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَجَٰهَدَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

And proclaim to mankind the Hajj: they will come to you on foot and on every lean mount, coming from every distant, deep-cut path, to witness the benefits [granted] to them and to mention the name of God on known days over the grazing livestock He has provided them. 22:28

وَأَذِّن فِى ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْحَجِّ يَأْتُوكَ رِجَالًۭا وَعَلَىٰ كُلِّ ضَامِرٍۢ يَأْتِينَ مِن كُلِّ فَجٍّ عَمِيقٍۢ لِّيَشْهَدُوا۟ مَنَٰفِعَ لَهُمْ وَيَذْكُرُوا۟ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍۢ مَّعْلُومَٰتٍ عَلَىٰ مَا رَزَقَهُم مِّنۢ بَهِيمَةِ ٱلْأَنْعَٰمِ

He said: "I wish to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, on condition that you serve me for eight years; 28:27

قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُنكِحَكَ إِحْدَى ٱبْنَتَىَّ هَٰتَيْنِ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَأْجُرَنِى ثَمَٰنِىَ حِجَجٍۢ

And when they dispute with one another in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant: "We were your followers; can you then spare us a share of the Fire?" 40:47

وَإِذْ يَتَحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ فَيَقُولُ ٱلضُّعَفَٰٓؤُا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًۭا فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًۭا مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ

there is no argument between us and you; 42:15

لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ

And those who dispute about God after He has been answered, their argument is void before their Guardian, and upon them is wrath, 42:16

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُحَآجُّونَ فِى ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ٱسْتُجِيبَ لَهُۥ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌۭ

And when Our clear signs are recited to them, their only argument is to say: "Bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful." 45:25

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ
