• Forbidden to you are: the dead animal, blood, the flesh of swine, that which has been consecrated to other than God, the strangled animal, the animal on the brink of death, the animal in a declining state from illness, the animal dead from a blow of the horn, and what a wild beast has devoured — except what you have purified by fire — as well as the animal slaughtered in common whose shares are then drawn by lot with arrows. 5:3

  حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ

• And thus have their associates embellished, for many of the associators, the killing of their children, so as to ruin them and confuse their Law for them. 6:137

  وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَٰدِهِمْ شُرَكَآؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ

• Let not him who does not believe in it and follows his emotion turn you away from it, lest you perish. 20:16

  فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ

• He says: "By God, you nearly caused my ruin; and were it not for my Guardian's favor, I would have been among those brought forth [for punishment]. 37:57

  قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ

• That is the thought you had of your Guardian; it has ruined you, and you have become among the losers. 41:23

  وَذَٰلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَىٰكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ ٱلْخَٰسِرِينَ

• And his wealth will not avail him when he falls. 92:11

  وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
