• there will then be the wretched and the happy. 11:105

  فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِىٌّۭ وَسَعِيدٌۭ

• As for those who will be wretched, they will be in the Fire, wherein they will have moaning and sobbing, wherein they will remain as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Guardian wills: 11:107

  فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ شَقُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلنَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌۭ وَشَهِيقٌ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ

• he said: "My Guardian, the bone has grown weak within me, the head has blazed white, and never, in calling upon You, my Guardian, have I been left wanting. 19:4

  قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًۭا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا

• He has not made me tyrannical or wretched. 19:32

  وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًۭا شَقِيًّۭا

• [Ibrahim] said: "Peace be upon you. I will ask my Guardian's forgiveness for you: He has ever been gracious to me. I withdraw from you and from what you invoke besides God, and I invoke my Guardian; perhaps, in invoking my Guardian, I shall not be left wanting." 19:48

  قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّۭا وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّۭا

• We did not send down upon you the Recitation for you to toil, 20:2

  مَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِتَشْقَىٰٓ

• So We said: «Adam, this is indeed an enemy to you and to your spouse; let him not drive you both out of the garden, or you would toil. 20:117

  فَقُلْنَا يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوٌّۭ لَّكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلَا يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَىٰٓ

• And should guidance come to you from Me, then whoever follows My guidance shall neither stray nor toil; 20:123

  فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًۭى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ

• They will say: Our Guardian, our misery overcame us, and we were an astray people. 23:106

  قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًۭا ضَآلِّينَ

• He who fears will remember, and the most wretched will avoid it, who will burn in the greatest Fire, then neither dies therein nor lives. 87:13

  سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ

• The Depleters [Thamud] denied, in their transgression, when the most wretched among them rose up. The messenger of God said to them, "[Leave] the she-camel of God, and her drink!" But they denied him and harmed her. So their Guardian brought their ruin for their wrong and leveled it. 91:14

  كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَٰهَا فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا

• So I have warned you of a blazing fire, in which none will burn except the most wretched, who denied and turned away. 92:16

  فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
