• Let them laugh little, then, and weep much, as a reward for what they used to earn. 9:82

  فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

• And his wife, standing, began to laugh; 11:71

  وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌۭ فَضَحِكَتْ

• There was a group among My obedient ones who said: Our Guardian, we believe; forgive us and have benevolence on us, for You are the best of those who show benevolence — but you took them in mockery, until they made you forget My Reminder, and you used to laugh at them. 23:110

  إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنْ عِبَادِى يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا فَٱغْفِرْ لَنَا وَٱرْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ فَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِى وَكُنتُم مِّنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ

• He smiled, amused at her words, and said: 'My Guardian, inspire me to acknowledge the blessing You have granted me and my parents, and to do righteous work that pleases You, and admit me, by Your benevolence, among Your righteous obedient ones.' 27:19

  فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكًۭا مِّن قَوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

• But when he brought them Our signs, they laughed at them. 43:47

  فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَضْحَكُونَ

• and that it is He who causes laughter and weeping, 53:43

  وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ

• Is it then this discourse that you marvel at, laughing, not weeping, while you remain heedless? 53:61

  أَفَمِنْ هَٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ وَأَنتُمْ سَٰمِدُونَ

• Faces, that Day, will be radiant, laughing, rejoicing. 80:39

  وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ مُّسْفِرَةٌۭ ضَاحِكَةٌۭ مُّسْتَبْشِرَةٌۭ

• Indeed, those who cut themselves off used to laugh at those who believed, and when they passed by them, they winked at one another, and when they returned to their people, they returned jesting, and when they saw them, they said, "Indeed, these are truly astray" — while they had not been sent as guardians over them. 83:33

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَٰفِظِينَ

• So today those who believed are laughing at the rejecters, upon adorned couches. 83:35

  فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ
