And We engaged Ibrahim and Isma'il: "Purify My House for those who frequent it, those who dwell there permanently, and those who bow in service and submit in allegiance." 2:125

And a group among the people of the Scripture said: "Believe in what has been revealed to those who have believed, at the start of the day, and deny it at its end, perhaps they will turn back [from their faith]." 3:72

وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

When two of your groups almost weakened, God being the protector of both — 3:122

إِذْ هَمَّت طَّآئِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلَا وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا

Then He sent down upon you, after the anguish, a tranquility, a drowsiness that enveloped a group among you, 3:154

ثُمَّ أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْغَمِّ أَمَنَةًۭ نُّعَاسًۭا يَغْشَىٰ طَآئِفَةًۭ مِّنكُمْ

while [another] group, preoccupied with its own Self, thought of God, contrary to the truth, a thought of the age of ignorance, 3:154

وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ غَيْرَ ٱلْحَقِّ ظَنَّ ٱلْجَٰهِلِيَّةِ

but when they leave you, a group among them schemes by night something quite different from what they say. 4:81

فَإِذَا بَرَزُوا۟ مِنْ عِندِكَ بَيَّتَ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى تَقُولُ

And when you are among them, and you lead the Contact for them, let a group of them stand with you, and let them take their arms. 4:102

وَإِذَا كُنتَ فِيهِمْ فَأَقَمْتَ لَهُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَلْتَقُمْ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُم مَّعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوٓا۟ أَسْلِحَتَهُمْ

and let another group, who has not yet performed the Contact, come to perform it with you, taking their precautions and their arms. 4:102

وَلْتَأْتِ طَآئِفَةٌ أُخْرَىٰ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا۟ فَلْيُصَلُّوا۟ مَعَكَ وَلْيَأْخُذُوا۟ حِذْرَهُمْ وَأَسْلِحَتَهُمْ

And without God's favor upon you and His benevolence, a group among them would have resolved to lead you astray; 4:113

وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ

And here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed; follow it, then, and guard yourselves, perhaps benevolence will be shown to you — lest you say: "The Scripture was sent down only upon two groups before us, and we were indeed heedless of their study", or lest you say: "Had the Scripture been sent down upon us, we would have been better guided than they." 6:157

وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ مُبَارَكٌۭ فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ أَن تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ عَلَىٰ طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَٰفِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَكُنَّآ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمْ

And if a group among you has believed in what I was sent with, and another group has not believed, be patient then until God judges between us: 7:87

وَإِن كَانَ طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنكُمْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنُوا۟ فَٱصْبِرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا

We then sent upon them the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood, detailed signs; but they were arrogant and were a severed people. 7:133

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلطُّوفَانَ وَٱلْجَرَادَ وَٱلْقُمَّلَ وَٱلضَّفَادِعَ وَٱلدَّمَ ءَايَٰتٍۢ مُّفَصَّلَٰتٍۢ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا مُّجْرِمِينَ

Those who guard themselves, when a procession [of suggestions] from the Diverter touches them, take heed, and there they are, clear-sighted; 7:201

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَٰٓئِفٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنِ تَذَكَّرُوا۟ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْصِرُونَ

And when God promised you that one of the two groups would be yours, while you wished it would be the one without arms. 8:7

وَإِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ إِحْدَى ٱلطَّآئِفَتَيْنِ أَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّونَ أَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ ٱلشَّوْكَةِ تَكُونُ لَكُمْ

If pardon is granted to a group among you, another group will be punished, for having been severed. 9:66

إِن نَّعْفُ عَن طَآئِفَةٍۢ مِّنكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَآئِفَةًۢ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ

If God brings you back to a group of them, and they ask you permission to go out [with you], say then: "You will never go out with me, and you will never fight with me an enemy. 9:83

فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَآئِفَةٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ فَٱسْتَـْٔذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخْرُجُوا۟ مَعِىَ أَبَدًۭا وَلَن تُقَٰتِلُوا۟ مَعِىَ عَدُوًّا

Why did not a detachment mobilize from every group among them, so that they might gain deep understanding in the Law, and warn their people upon their return to them, that they might guard themselves? 9:122

فَلَوْلَا نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ طَآئِفَةٌۭ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُوا۟ فِى ٱلدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُوا۟ قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ

and purify My House for those who frequent it, those who maintain it, and those who bow in service and submit [in allegiance]." 22:26

وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ وَٱلْقَآئِمِينَ وَٱلرُّكَّعِ ٱلسُّجُودِ

Then let them put an end to their unkempt state, fulfill their commitments, and frequent the sovereign House. 22:29

ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا۟ تَفَثَهُمْ وَلْيُوفُوا۟ نُذُورَهُمْ وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا۟ بِٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْعَتِيقِ

and let a group of believers witness their punishment. 24:2

وَلْيَشْهَدْ عَذَابَهُمَا طَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

being visitors to one another, 24:58

طَوَّٰفُونَ عَلَيْكُم

Fir'awn rose up with excess in the land and split its people into factions; he kept one group of them weak, slaughtering their sons and violating the modesty of their women, 28:4

إِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِيَعًۭا يَسْتَضْعِفُ طَآئِفَةًۭ مِّنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ أَبْنَآءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْىِۦ نِسَآءَهُمْ

We sent Nuh to his people; he remained among them a thousand years, less fifty conventional years, then the flood seized them while they were unjust. 29:14

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًۭا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

and when a party among them said, "O people of Yathrib, there is no place for you [here]; go back," 33:13

وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَٱرْجِعُوا۟

A cup will be passed among them from a [pure] spring, white, delightful for those who drink it, causing no headache and no intoxication, 37:47

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ

Trays of gold and cups will be passed among them, 43:71

يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِصِحَافٍۢ مِّن ذَهَبٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ

And if two groups of believers fight each other, reconcile between them. 49:9

وَإِن طَآئِفَتَانِ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ٱقْتَتَلُوا۟ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَهُمَا

And there will circulate among them young servants who belong to them, like hidden pearls. 52:24

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌۭ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ

This is Jahannam, which the severed used to deny; they will circulate between it and boiling water at its peak. 55:44

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍۢ

Around them will circulate youths of eternal freshness, with cups, ewers, and a cup [drawn] from a gushing spring — from which they will neither ache nor be intoxicated — and fruit of their choosing, and the flesh of birds that they desire. 56:21

يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ بِأَكْوَابٍۢ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۢ لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ وَفَٰكِهَةٍۢ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

So a group of the Children of Israel believed, and a group denied. 61:14

فَـَٔامَنَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَكَفَرَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ

and a visitation from your Guardian swept over it while they slept, so that it became like a blackened wasteland. 68:20

فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ

Indeed, your Guardian knows that you stand in prayer a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or a third of it, as do a group of those with you. 73:20

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ

There will circulate among them vessels of silver and goblets that were as clear as crystal, 76:15

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠

There will circulate among them youths made eternal; when you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 76:19

وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا
