And remember that He made you successors after Aad, and settled you on the earth: you take, in its plains, castles, and you carve the mountains into dwellings. 7:74

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ عَادٍۢ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِن سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًۭا وَتَنْحِتُونَ ٱلْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًۭا

Has there not come to them the information concerning those before them: the people of Nuh, the Recidivists [Aad], Thamud, the people of Ibrahim, the companions of Madyan, and the overturned cities? 9:70

أَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوْمِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَأَصْحَٰبِ مَدْيَنَ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَٰتِ

And to the Recidivists [Aad], their brother Hud: 11:50

وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًۭا

And such was Aad: they denied the signs of their Guardian, disobeyed His envoys, and followed the command of every stubborn tyrant. 11:59

وَتِلْكَ عَادٌۭ جَحَدُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا۟ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍۢ

Is it not that Aad denied their Guardian? 11:60

أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادًۭا كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ

Let Aad, the people of Hud, become nothing but a distant memory! 11:60

أَلَا بُعْدًۭا لِّعَادٍۢ قَوْمِ هُودٍۢ

Has there not reached you the account of those before you, the people of Nuh, of the Recidivists [Aad] and the Depleters [Thamud], and those who came after them, 14:9

أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَؤُا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

But whoever is compelled, without transgression or excess, God is then Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 16:115

فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ غَيْرَ بَاغٍۢ وَلَا عَادٍۢ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ

And if they deny you, before them the people of Nuh, the Recidivists [Aad], the Depleters [Thamud], the people of Ibrahim, the people of Lut, and the people of Madyan denied — 22:44

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٌۭ وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَ

And the Recidivists [Aad], and the Depleters [Thamud], and the companions of the Rass, and many generations between those times, 25:38

وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًۭا

The Recidivists [Aad] denied the messengers, when their brother Hud said to them: 'Will you not guard yourselves? I am for you a trustworthy messenger. 26:125

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ

And the Recidivists [Aad] and the Depleters [Thamud] — this has become clear to you through their dwellings; the Diverter had embellished their deeds to them and turned them away from the path, though they had clear sight. 29:38

وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَٰكِنِهِمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ

Before them, the people of Nuh denied, and the Recidivists [Aad], and Fir'awn of the stakes, the Depleters [Thamud], the people of Lut, and the companions of the Thicket. 38:13

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٌۭ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو ٱلْأَوْتَادِ وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ

The one who had believed said: "O my people, I fear for you a day like that of the factions, like the fate of the people of Nuh, the Recidivists [Aad], the Depleters [Thamud], and those who came after them; 40:31

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَامَنَ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُم مِّثْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ مِثْلَ دَأْبِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍۢ وَعَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

If they turn away, say: "I warn you of a thunderbolt like the thunderbolt of the Recidivists [Aad] and the Depleters [Thamud]" 41:14

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا۟ فَقُلْ أَنذَرْتُكُمْ صَٰعِقَةًۭ مِّثْلَ صَٰعِقَةِ عَادٍۢ وَثَمُودَ إِذْ جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ

As for Aad, they were arrogant on the earth without right, and said: "Who is stronger than us in might?" 41:15

فَأَمَّا عَادٌۭ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا۟ مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً

And remember the brother of the Recidivists [Aad], when he warned his people at the Ahqaf — while warners had already passed before him and after him — [saying]: "Obey none but God." 46:21

وَٱذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُۥ بِٱلْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ

Before them, the people of Nuh denied, as did the people of the Well, Thamud, the Recidivists [Aad], Fir'awn, the brothers of Lut, the people of the Thicket, and the people of Tubba'. 50:14

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۭ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍۢ وَأَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۢ

And for the Recidivists [Aad]: when We sent upon them the barren wind, which left nothing it passed over without reducing it to dust. 51:42

وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ

and that He destroyed the Recidivists [Aad], the first, and Thamud, leaving nothing behind, and the people of Nuh before that — 53:52

وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ

The Recidivists [Aad] denied. So how were My punishment and My warnings? 54:18

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ

the Depleters [Thamud] and the Recidivists [Aad] denied the Calamity that strikes. 69:4

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ

And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a furious, roaring wind, which He unleashed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, 69:7

وَأَمَّا عَادٌۭ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍۢ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍۢ سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍۢ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًۭا

Have you not seen how your Guardian dealt with the Recidivists [Aad], with Iram of the lofty pillars, the like of which had never been created in the lands? And with the Depleters [Thamud], who carved the rock in the valley? And with Fir'awn, holder of the stakes? Those who transgressed all bounds in the lands and multiplied corruption therein — so your Guardian poured upon them a scourge of punishment. 89:13

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ
