He said: "Woe to me! am I unable to be like this raven, and to conceal my brother's nakedness?" And he then became among those who regret. 5:32
قَالَ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ أَعَجَزْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِثْلَ هَٰذَا ٱلْغُرَابِ فَأُوَٰرِىَ سَوْءَةَ أَخِى فَأَصْبَحَ مِنَ ٱلنَّٰدِمِينَ مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَٰلِكَ -
and you will not be able to render [Him] powerless. 6:134
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ -
They cannot render [God] powerless. 8:59
إِنَّهُمْ لَا يُعْجِزُونَ -
and know that you cannot render God powerless, and that God covers with disgrace those who deny-disown. 9:2
وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْزِى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ -
but if you turn away, know that you cannot render God powerless. 9:3
وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِى ٱللَّهِ -
Say: "Yes, by my Guardian! It is truly so, and you cannot thwart it." 10:53
قُلْ إِى وَرَبِّىٓ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّۭ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ -
Those are the ones who, on earth, will not be able to thwart [Him], and who will have, besides God, no protector: 11:20
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ -
He said: "It is God alone who will bring it to you, if He wills, and you will not be able to thwart anything. 11:33
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُ إِن شَآءَ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ -
She said: "Woe is me! Shall I bear a child, when I am old, and here is my husband, an old man? 11:72
قَالَتْ يَٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٌۭ وَهَٰذَا بَعْلِى شَيْخًا -
Are those who plotted the evils then sure that God will not cause the earth to swallow them, or that the punishment will not come to them from where they do not perceive, or that He will not seize them in their comings and goings, without their being able to thwart [Him], or that He will not seize them in a gradual dread? 16:47
أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِى تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍۢ -
But those who strive against Our signs, seeking to thwart [them], those are the companions of the Blaze. 22:51
وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوْا۟ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْجَحِيمِ -
Do not ever think that those who deny can render [God] powerless on the earth; 24:57
لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ -
So We saved him, and all his family, except an old woman, among those who remained behind; then We destroyed afterward the others. 26:172
فَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ -
You cannot render [Him] powerless anywhere, neither on earth nor in the sky; 29:22
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ -
But those who strove against Our signs, seeking to thwart them, those will have a punishment of painful filth. 34:5
وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوْ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌۭ -
But those who strove against Our signs, seeking to thwart them, those will be brought into the punishment. 34:38
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِىٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ -
And nothing in the heavens or on the earth could render God powerless. 35:44
وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ مِن شَىْءٍۢ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ -
And Lut was indeed among the messengers, when We saved him and his household, all of them, except an old woman among those left behind; then We destroyed the others. 37:136
وَإِنَّ لُوطًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ -
and those among these who do wrong will be struck by the evil consequences of what they earn, and they will not escape. 39:51
وَٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ سَيُصِيبُهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا۟ وَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ -
You are not able to escape [Him] on the earth, 42:31
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ -
And whoever does not respond to the caller of God cannot escape on earth, and has no protectors besides Him. 46:32
وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِىَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍۢ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءُ -
Then his wife came forward crying out, struck her face, and said: 'An old, barren woman?!' 51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍۢ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌۭ -
We sent upon them a furious wind, on a day of continuous misfortune, tearing people away as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. 54:20
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ -
so that you would have seen the people lying prostrate, as if they were hollow trunks of uprooted palm trees. 69:7
فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍۢ -
And that we became certain that we would never cause failure to God upon earth, nor by fleeing could we cause Him failure. 72:12
وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُۥ هَرَبًۭا
