• And remember when We appointed for Moussa forty nights; then you took the calf [as a deity], after him, and you were unjust. 2:51

  وَإِذْ وَٰعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰٓ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةًۭ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

• And remember when Moussa said to his people: "O my people! you have wronged yourselves by taking the calf [as a deity]; turn back, then, to your Originator, and kill yourselves, 2:54

  وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ يَٰقَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنفُسَكُم بِٱتِّخَاذِكُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ بَارِئِكُمْ فَٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ

• Moussa indeed came to you with the clear proofs; then you took the calf [as a deity], after him, and you were unjust. 2:92

  وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذْتُمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ وَأَنتُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ

• and their cores were made to drink in the calf, because of their denial-disowning. 2:93

  وَأُشْرِبُوا۟ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْعِجْلَ بِكُفْرِهِمْ

• And whoever hastens in two days, no transgression upon him; 2:203

  فَمَن تَعَجَّلَ فِى يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ

• Then they took the calf [as a deity], after the clear proofs had come to them; but We passed over that, 4:153

  ثُمَّ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ فَعَفَوْنَا عَن ذَٰلِكَ

• I do not hold what you seek to hasten. 6:57

  مَا عِندِى مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِۦٓ

• Say: "If I held what you seek to hasten, the matter would already have been settled between me and you." 6:58

  قُل لَّوْ أَنَّ عِندِى مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِۦ لَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ

• And the people of Moussa took, after him, from their ornaments, a calf, a body that lowed. 7:148

  وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌ

• Did you want to hasten the command of your Guardian?" 7:150

  أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ

• Those who took the calf [as a deity], an anger from their Guardian will reach them, as well as a humiliation in the present life. 7:152

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ ٱلْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌۭ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا

• If God hastened evil for people as they hasten [the arrival of] good, their term would already have been settled for them. 10:11

  وَلَوْ يُعَجِّلُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ ٱلشَّرَّ ٱسْتِعْجَالَهُم بِٱلْخَيْرِ لَقُضِىَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَجَلُهُمْ

• Say: "What do you think? If His punishment came upon you by night or by day, what is it the severed would want to hasten? 10:50

  قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُهُۥ بَيَٰتًا أَوْ نَهَارًۭا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

• Now?! when you used to seek to hasten it! 10:51

  ءَآلْـَٰٔنَ وَقَدْ كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

• and he did not delay in bringing a roasted calf. 11:69

  فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيذٍۢ

• They ask you to hasten evil before good, though there have already come to pass, before them, exemplary precedents. 13:6

  وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِمُ ٱلْمَثُلَٰتُ

• In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. The command of God has come: so do not seek to hasten it. 16:1

  بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ أَتَىٰٓ أَمْرُ ٱللَّهِ فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوهُ

• for the human being is hasty. 17:11

  وَكَانَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَجُولًۭا

• Whoever wants the hasty [life], We hasten for him in it what We will, to whom We will; then We assign him Jahannam, where he will burn, blamed, driven away. 17:18

  مَّن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ عَجَّلْنَا لَهُۥ فِيهَا مَا نَشَآءُ لِمَن نُّرِيدُ ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَىٰهَا مَذْمُومًۭا مَّدْحُورًۭا

• were He to seize them for what they have earned, He would have hastened the punishment for them; 18:58

  لَوْ يُؤَاخِذُهُم بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ لَعَجَّلَ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ

• So do not be hasty against them: 19:84

  فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ

• And what made you hasten away from your people, Moussa? 20:83

  وَمَآ أَعْجَلَكَ عَن قَوْمِكَ يَٰمُوسَىٰ

• He said: «There they are, close upon my tracks; and I hastened to You, Guardian, that You might be pleased.» 20:84

  قَالَ هُمْ أُو۟لَآءِ عَلَىٰٓ أَثَرِى وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَىٰ

• So he brought forth for them a calf, a lowing body, and they said: «This is your divinity, and the divinity of Moussa» — but he had forgotten. 20:88

  فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًۭا جَسَدًۭا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌۭ فَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذَآ إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِىَ

• And do not hasten with the Recitation before its inspiration is completed for you, 20:114

  وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُۥ

• The human being was created out of haste. 21:37

  خُلِقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِنْ عَجَلٍۢ

• I will show you My signs, so do not ask Me to hasten. 21:37

  سَأُو۟رِيكُمْ ءَايَٰتِى فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

• And they urge you to hasten the punishment, 22:47

  وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ

• Is it then Our punishment that they seek to hasten? 26:204

  أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

• He said [Salih]: 'O my people, why do you hasten evil before good? Will you not seek God's forgiveness, so that He may show you benevolence?' 27:46

  قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

• Say: 'It may be that some of what you seek to hasten is very close behind you.' 27:72

  قُلْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُم بَعْضُ ٱلَّذِى تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

• They urge you to hasten the punishment; 29:53

  وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ

• They urge you to hasten the punishment, 29:54

  يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ

• Is it Our punishment that they seek to hasten? 37:176

  أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

• And they said: "Our Guardian, hasten for us our share [of punishment], before the Day of Reckoning." 38:16

  وَقَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ ٱلْحِسَابِ

• Those who do not believe in it seek to hasten it, 42:18

  يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا

• No, it is rather what you sought to hasten — 46:24

  بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِۦ

• So be patient, as the resolute among the messengers were patient, and do not seek to hasten [the punishment], 46:35

  فَٱصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعَزْمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل

• God promised you abundant spoils that you would take; He hastened this one for you and held back the hands of the people from you. 48:20

  وَعَدَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ مَغَانِمَ كَثِيرَةًۭ تَأْخُذُونَهَا فَعَجَّلَ لَكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦ وَكَفَّ أَيْدِىَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَنكُمْ

• This is what you used to seek to hasten. 51:14

  هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

• He went discreetly to his household, then brought a fat calf and presented it to them, saying: 'Will you not eat?' 51:27

  فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍۢ سَمِينٍۢ فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ

• Those who did injustice will have a share [of punishment] like the share of their counterparts: so let them not seek to hasten it. 51:59

  فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًۭا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ

• Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it; 75:16

  لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ

• No indeed! But you love the immediate life, and leave behind the Hereafter. 75:21

  كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ

• Indeed, these love the fleeting life, and leave behind them a heavy Day. 76:27

  إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًۭا ثَقِيلًۭا
