And those who deny will not cease to be in doubt of it until the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly, or there comes to them the punishment of a barren day. 22:55
وَلَا يَزَالُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى مِرْيَةٍۢ مِّنْهُ حَتَّىٰ تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ -
He grants, to whom He wills, daughters, and He grants, to whom He wills, sons, or He pairs them, males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. 42:50
يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ إِنَٰثًۭا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ ٱلذُّكُورَ أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًۭا وَإِنَٰثًۭا وَيَجْعَلُ مَن يَشَآءُ عَقِيمًا -
Then his wife came forward crying out, struck her face, and said: 'An old, barren woman?!' 51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍۢ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌۭ -
And for the Recidivists [Aad]: when We sent upon them the barren wind, which left nothing it passed over without reducing it to dust. 51:42
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
