And here is a Scripture We have sent down, blessed; follow it, then, and guard yourselves, perhaps benevolence will be shown to you — lest you say: "The Scripture was sent down only upon two groups before us, and we were indeed heedless of their study", or lest you say: "Had the Scripture been sent down upon us, we would have been better guided than they." 6:157

وَهَٰذَا كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ مُبَارَكٌۭ فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ أَن تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبُ عَلَىٰ طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَٰفِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوا۟ لَوْ أَنَّآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْكِتَٰبُ لَكُنَّآ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْهُمْ

We then took vengeance upon them, and We drowned them in the deep, for having denied Our signs and remained heedless of them. 7:136

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

That is because they denied Our signs and remained heedless of them. 7:146

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ

[This,] lest you say, on the Day of Appearance: "We were indeed heedless of this", or that you say: "It was our ancestors who, before, associated, and we were only a descendance after them. 7:173

شَهِدْنَآ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَٰفِلِينَ أَوْ تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَشْرَكَ ءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةًۭ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ

Those are the heedless. 7:179

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

And remember your Guardian, within yourself, humbly and with fear, without raising your voice in speech, in the morning and in the evening, and do not be among the heedless. 7:205

وَٱذْكُر رَّبَّكَ فِى نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًۭا وَخِيفَةًۭ وَدُونَ ٱلْجَهْرِ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بِٱلْغُدُوِّ وَٱلْءَاصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ

Those who do not hope for Our meeting, who were content with the present life and found ease in it, and those who are heedless of Our signs — their refuge will be the Fire, for what they used to earn. 10:8

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا وَرَضُوا۟ بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱطْمَأَنُّوا۟ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا غَٰفِلُونَ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

God suffices as a witness between us and you: we were indeed heedless of your obey. 10:29

فَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَٰفِلِينَ

But many people are indeed heedless of Our signs. 10:92

وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَغَٰفِلُونَ

your Guardian is not at all heedless of what you do. 11:123

وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

We relate to you the finest of accounts, by revealing to you this Recitation, though you were indeed, before it, among the heedless. 12:3

نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْقَصَصِ بِمَآ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ وَإِن كُنتَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلْغَٰفِلِينَ

He said: "It indeed grieves me that you take him, and I fear the wolf may devour him while you are inattentive." 12:13

قَالَ إِنِّى لَيَحْزُنُنِىٓ أَن تَذْهَبُوا۟ بِهِۦ وَأَخَافُ أَن يَأْكُلَهُ ٱلذِّئْبُ وَأَنتُمْ عَنْهُ غَٰفِلُونَ

And do not ever think that God is heedless of what the wrongdoers do: 14:42

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ

and those are the heedless. 16:108

وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰفِلُونَ

and do not obey one whose Core We have made heedless of Our remembrance, who has followed his emotion, and whose affair has [become] excess. 18:28

وَلَا تُطِعْ مَنْ أَغْفَلْنَا قَلْبَهُۥ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمْرُهُۥ فُرُطًۭا

And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter is decided, while they are heedless and do not believe. 19:39

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Mankind's reckoning has drawn near, while they are turned away in heedlessness. 21:1

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مُّعْرِضُونَ

until Gog and Magog are opened, and they come streaming down from every height, and the true promise draws near — then at once the eyes of those who denied stare fixedly: 'Woe to us! We were heedless of this — we were rather wrongdoers!' 21:97

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍۢ يَنسِلُونَ وَٱقْتَرَبَ ٱلْوَعْدُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِىَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبْصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

and We have never been heedless of creation. 23:17

وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ ٱلْخَلْقِ غَٰفِلِينَ

Those who accuse women protected by contract, unwitting, believing, are cursed in the present life and the hereafter, and they will have an immense punishment, on the day when their tongues, their hands, and their feet will testify against them for what they used to do. 24:24

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ ٱلْغَٰفِلَٰتِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ لُعِنُوا۟ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ يَوْمَ تَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ وَأَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

And your Guardian is not inattentive to what you do. 27:93

وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

He entered the Capital at a moment when its people were inattentive, and found there two men fighting: one from his own camp, the other from the opposing camp. 28:15

وَدَخَلَ ٱلْمَدِينَةَ عَلَىٰ حِينِ غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ أَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلَانِ هَٰذَا مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ وَهَٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهِۦ

They know only an outward aspect of the present life, while of the Hereafter they are heedless. 30:7

يَعْلَمُونَ ظَٰهِرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ

a revelation sent down from the All-Powerful, the Benevolent, so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned, and who are therefore heedless. 36:6

تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ

And who is more astray than one who invokes, besides God, that which will not answer him until the Day of Appearance, while they remain heedless of their invocation? 46:5

وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَآئِهِمْ غَٰفِلُونَ

You were indeed heedless of this; so We removed your veil, and your sight today is piercing. 50:22

لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌۭ
