He said: "My Guardian, how shall I have a boy, when old age has already reached me, and my wife is barren?" 3:40
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِىَ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرٌۭ -
A caravan arrived; they sent their water-drawer, who let down his bucket. He said: "Good news! Here is a boy!" 12:19
وَجَآءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌۭ فَأَرْسَلُوا۟ وَارِدَهُمْ فَأَدْلَىٰ دَلْوَهُۥ قَالَ يَٰبُشْرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَٰمٌۭ -
They said: "Do not be apprehensive: we bring you glad tidings of a knowledgeable boy." 15:53
قَالُوا۟ لَا تَوْجَلْ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ -
So they set off, until, meeting a young boy, he killed him. He said: "Have you killed an innocent soul, though it killed no other soul? You have done a horrible thing!" 18:74
فَٱنطَلَقَا حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا لَقِيَا غُلَٰمًۭا فَقَتَلَهُۥ قَالَ أَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًۭا زَكِيَّةًۢ بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍۢ لَّقَدْ جِئْتَ شَيْـًۭٔا نُّكْرًۭا -
As for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared that he would overwhelm them with tyranny and denial, 18:80
وَأَمَّا ٱلْغُلَٰمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينَآ أَن يُرْهِقَهُمَا طُغْيَٰنًۭا وَكُفْرًۭا -
As for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys of the Capital, and beneath it was a treasure belonging to them; 18:82
وَأَمَّا ٱلْجِدَارُ فَكَانَ لِغُلَٰمَيْنِ يَتِيمَيْنِ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ وَكَانَ تَحْتَهُۥ كَنزٌۭ لَّهُمَا -
"O Zakariya, We give you glad tidings of a boy: his name is Yahya, to whom We have given, before him, no one sharing this attribute." 19:7
يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّۭا -
He said: "My Guardian, how shall I have a boy, when my wife is barren and I have reached, in old age, utter decrepitude?" 19:8
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّۭا -
He said: "I am only the messenger of your Guardian, [come] to grant you a pure boy." 19:19
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰمًۭا زَكِيًّۭا -
She said: "How shall I have a boy, when no human has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" 19:20
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا -
So We gave him the good news of a reflective boy. 37:101
فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍۢ -
And they gave him good news of a knowledgeable boy. 51:28
وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ عَلِيمٍۢ -
And there will circulate among them young servants who belong to them, like hidden pearls. 52:24
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌۭ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ
