• and if evil befalls you, they rejoice at it. 3:120

  وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۭ يَفْرَحُوا۟ بِهَا

• No, they are alive, with their Guardian, provided [with blessings], rejoicing in what God has given them of His favor, and rejoicing for those who, remaining behind them, have not yet joined them: no fear upon them, and they will not grieve. 3:170

  بَلْ أَحْيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ فَرِحِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا۟ بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

• Do not by any means think that those who rejoice in what they have done, and love to be praised for what they did not do — do not by any means think that they will escape the punishment. 3:188

  لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ

• to the point that, when they rejoiced in what had been given them, We seized them by surprise, and there they were, in despair. 6:44

  حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَآ أُوتُوٓا۟ أَخَذْنَٰهُم بَغْتَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُم مُّبْلِسُونَ

• and if misfortune befalls you, they say: "We had already taken our precautions before" — and they turn away, rejoicing. 9:50

  وَإِن تُصِبْكَ مُصِيبَةٌۭ يَقُولُوا۟ قَدْ أَخَذْنَآ أَمْرَنَا مِن قَبْلُ وَيَتَوَلَّوا۟ وَّهُمْ فَرِحُونَ

• Those who stayed behind rejoiced in their position, apart from the messenger of God, and were averse to striving with their possessions and their Selves in the way of God, and said: 'Do not mobilize in the heat.' 9:81

  فَرِحَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَٰفَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوٓا۟ أَن يُجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَنفِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَرِّ

• until, when you are in the ship and it sails with them by a favorable wind, and they rejoice in it, a violent wind comes upon them, the swell comes at them from every side, and they think they are surrounded — then they call upon God, devoting their allegiance to Him alone: "If You save us from this, we will surely be among the grateful." 10:22

  حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٍۢ طَيِّبَةٍۢ وَفَرِحُوا۟ بِهَا جَآءَتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌۭ وَجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍۢ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَٰذِهِۦ لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰكِرِينَ

• Say: "It is by God's favor and by His benevolence — let them rejoice in that! 10:58

  قُلْ بِفَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِۦ فَبِذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُوا۟

• he becomes joyful, full of vanity. 11:10

  إِنَّهُۥ لَفَرِحٌۭ فَخُورٌ

• and they rejoice in the present life, 13:26

  وَفَرِحُوا۟ بِٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا

• And those to whom We gave the Scripture rejoice at what has been sent down to you, 13:36

  وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ

• each faction rejoicing in what it holds. 23:53

  كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

• When it came to Sulayman, he said: 'Do you wish to aid me with wealth? What God has given me is better than what He has given you; it is you rather who rejoice in your gift. 27:36

  فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍۢ فَمَآ ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّآ ءَاتَىٰكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ

• His people then said to him: "Do not exult; God does not love those who exult [with arrogance]; 28:76

  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ لَا تَفْرَحْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْفَرِحِينَ

• And on that day the believers will rejoice in God's help — 30:5

  وَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَفْرَحُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِنَصْرِ ٱللَّهِ

• among those who split up their Law and became factions, each party rejoicing in what it has. 30:32

  كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

• And when We let people taste a benevolence, they rejoice in it; 30:36

  وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةًۭ فَرِحُوا۟ بِهَا

• That is for having rejoiced on the earth without right, and for having been insolent; 40:75

  ذَٰلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ

• Then, when their messengers brought them clear proofs, they rejoiced in the knowledge they already possessed; 40:83

  فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ

• And when We let man taste a benevolence from Us, he rejoices in it; 42:48

  وَإِنَّآ إِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةًۭ فَرِحَ بِهَا

• Indeed, that is easy for God — so that you do not grieve for what has escaped you, nor exult [excessively] over what He has given you. 57:23

  إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌۭ لِّكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا تَفْرَحُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ
