Who is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or says: "It has been revealed to me", when nothing has been revealed to him, and one who says: "I will send down the like of what God has sent down"? 6:93

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ قَالَ أُوحِىَ إِلَىَّ وَلَمْ يُوحَ إِلَيْهِ شَىْءٌۭ وَمَن قَالَ سَأُنزِلُ مِثْلَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ

leave them, then, and what they invent. 6:112

فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ

And they said: "This is cattle and crops forbidden: none shall eat of them, except whom we wish" — according to their claim — "and cattle whose backs are made forbidden", and cattle over which they do not mention the name of God, in invention against Him. 6:138

وَقَالُوا۟ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أَنْعَٰمٌۭ وَحَرْثٌ حِجْرٌۭ لَّا يَطْعَمُهَآ إِلَّا مَن نَّشَآءُ بِزَعْمِهِمْ وَأَنْعَٰمٌ حُرِّمَتْ ظُهُورُهَا وَأَنْعَٰمٌۭ لَّا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱسْمَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَيْهِ

He will reward them for what they used to invent. 6:138

سَيَجْزِيهِم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

They are indeed losers, those who killed their children out of foolishness, without knowledge, and who forbade what God had provided them as sustenance, in invention against God. 6:140

قَدْ خَسِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَتَلُوٓا۟ أَوْلَٰدَهُمْ سَفَهًۢا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۢ وَحَرَّمُوا۟ مَا رَزَقَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱفْتِرَآءً عَلَى ٱللَّهِ

Who is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, to lead people astray without knowledge? 6:144

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا لِّيُضِلَّ ٱلنَّاسَ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ

Who is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or denies His signs? 7:37

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ

They will have caused the loss of their Selves, and what they used to invent will have forsaken them. 7:53

قَدْ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

We would indeed have invented a lie against God, if we returned to your creed after God has saved us from it. 7:89

قَدِ ٱفْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِى مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّىٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنْهَا

Thus do We reward the inventors of lies. 7:152

وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُفْتَرِينَ

Who is then more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or denies His signs? 10:17

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓ

and what they used to invent will have forsaken them. 10:30

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

This Recitation was not something that could have been invented apart from God; 10:37

وَمَا كَانَ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانُ أَن يُفْتَرَىٰ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ

Will they say: "He invented it"? 10:38

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ

say: Is it God who permitted you, or is it against God that you invent?" 10:59

قُلْ ءَآللَّهُ أَذِنَ لَكُمْ أَمْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَفْتَرُونَ

What will they think, on the Day of Appearance, those who invent the lie against God? 10:60

وَمَا ظَنُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ

Say: "Those who invent the lie against God do not succeed." 10:69

قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ

Or will they say: "He has invented it"? 11:13

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ

Say: "Then bring ten invented sûrahs resembling it, and call upon whomever you can, besides God, if you are truthful." 11:13

قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦ مُفْتَرَيَٰتٍۢ وَٱدْعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God? 11:18

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا

Those are the ones who have lost themselves, and what they invented has strayed away from them. 11:21

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

Or will they say: "He has invented it"? 11:35

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ

Say: "If I have invented it, then my own severance falls upon me, and I am innocent of your severance." 11:35

قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ

you are only inventors [of falsehood]." 11:50

إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ

it was not an invented account, 12:111

مَا كَانَ حَدِيثًۭا يُفْتَرَىٰ

By God, you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent. 16:56

تَٱللَّهِ لَتُسْـَٔلُنَّ عَمَّا كُنتُمْ تَفْتَرُونَ

and what they used to invent will stray away from them. 16:87

وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

And when We substitute one sign for another sign — God knows best what He sends down — they say: "You are but an inventor." 16:101

وَإِذَا بَدَّلْنَآ ءَايَةًۭ مَّكَانَ ءَايَةٍۢ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُنَزِّلُ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُفْتَرٍۭ

Those who invent falsehood are those who do not believe in God's signs, 16:105

إِنَّمَا يَفْتَرِى ٱلْكَذِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ

And do not say, for what your tongues falsely describe: "This is lawful and this is forbidden," so as to invent falsehood against God: 16:116

وَلَا تَقُولُوا۟ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلْسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلْكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٌۭ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٌۭ لِّتَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ

those who invent falsehood against God will not succeed. 16:116

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ

They have indeed nearly tried you, [to turn you away] from what We revealed to you, so that you might invent against Us something else; 17:73

وَإِن كَادُوا۟ لَيَفْتِنُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ لِتَفْتَرِىَ عَلَيْنَا غَيْرَهُۥ

Who then is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God? 18:15

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا

They said: "O Maryam, you have done a monstrous thing! 19:27

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًۭٔا فَرِيًّۭا

Moussa said to them: "Woe to you! Do not fabricate a lie against God, lest He make you suffer with a punishment." 20:61

قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا فَيُسْحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٍۢ

And whoever fabricates has already failed. 20:61

وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ

They said instead: 'A jumble of confused dreams! He has rather invented it! He is rather a beguiling rhetorician! 21:5

بَلْ قَالُوٓا۟ أَضْغَٰثُ أَحْلَٰمٍۭ بَلِ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌۭ

they glorify Him night and day, never flagging. 21:20

يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ

The court of his people, those who denied and treated the meeting of the hereafter as a lie, and to whom We had given ease in the present life, said: This is nothing but a human being like you, who eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink; and if you obey a human being like you, you will then indeed be losers. Does he promise you that, once dead and become dust and bones, you will be raised up? Far, far indeed is what you are promised! There is nothing but our present life, we die and we live, and we will not be raised up! He is nothing but a man who has invented a lie against God, and we will not believe him. 23:38

وَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُم بَشَرًۭا مِّثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنتُمْ تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَنَّكُم مُّخْرَجُونَ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُۥ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

Those who deny say: This is nothing but a fabrication he invented, and another group helped him with it. 25:4

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ وَأَعَانَهُۥ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ ءَاخَرُونَ

When Moussa brought them Our clear signs, they said: "This is nothing but a fabricated illusion; we never heard of this among our earliest forefathers." 28:36

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّفْتَرًۭى وَمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِىٓ ءَابَآئِنَا ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

We will draw out from every community a witness, and We will say: "Bring your proof." Then they will know that the truth belongs to God, and what they used to invent will forsake them. 28:75

وَنَزَعْنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍۢ شَهِيدًۭا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَٰنَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱلْحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

and they will surely be questioned, on the Day of Appearance, about what they used to invent. 29:13

وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God, or denies the truth once it has come to him? 29:68

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُۥٓ

Will they say, "He has invented it"? 32:3

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ

Has he invented a lie against God, or is he afflicted with some derangement?" 34:8

أَفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَم بِهِۦ جِنَّةٌۢ

And when Our verses are recited to them, clear, they say, "This is nothing but a man who wants to turn you away from what your ancestors used to obey"; and they say, "This is nothing but a fabricated lie." 34:43

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا رَجُلٌۭ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌۭ مُّفْتَرًۭى

Will they say that he has forged a lie against God? 42:24

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًۭا

Or do they say: "He has invented it"? 46:8

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ

Say: "If I have invented it, you can do nothing for me against God." 46:8

قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا

and that was their falsehood and what they used to invent. 46:28

وَذَٰلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

O Prophet! When believing women come to you to pledge allegiance to you that they will not associate anything with God, not steal, not commit adultery, not kill their children, not bring forth slander they have invented between their hands and feet, and not disobey you in what is recognized, accept their pledge and ask God's forgiveness for them. 60:12

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ إِذَا جَآءَكَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن لَّا يُشْرِكْنَ بِٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْنِينَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ أَوْلَٰدَهُنَّ وَلَا يَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَٰنٍۢ يَفْتَرِينَهُۥ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِنَّ وَأَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْصِينَكَ فِى مَعْرُوفٍۢ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ ٱللَّهَ

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about God while he is being called to true adherence to God? 61:7

وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلْإِسْلَٰمِ
