Those who hide what God has sent down of the Scripture, and sell it for a small price — those are the ones who swallow nothing into their bellies but the Fire; God will not speak to them on the Day of Appearance, and will not purify them, 2:174

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَشْتَرُونَ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ مَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ

But when combat was prescribed for them, they turned away, except a small number of them. 2:246

فَلَمَّا كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقِتَالُ تَوَلَّوْا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّنْهُمْ

They drank from it, except a small number of them. 2:249

فَشَرِبُوا۟ مِنْهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّنْهُمْ

Those who thought that they would meet God said: "How many a small group has overcome a large group, with God's permission!" 2:249

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُوا۟ ٱللَّهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٍۢ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةًۭ كَثِيرَةًۢ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ

Those who sell the engagement of God and their oaths for a small price — those are the ones who will have no share in the last life; God will not speak to them, will not look at them on the Day of Appearance, and will not purify them. 3:77

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ

And remember when God took the engagement of those to whom the Scripture was given: "You will certainly make it clear to mankind, and you will not hide it"; but they cast it behind their backs, and sold it for a small price. 3:187

وَإِذْ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُۥ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُۥ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا

It is an enjoyment of little worth, 3:197

مَتَٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ

not selling the signs of God for a small price. 3:199

لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا

To men belongs a share of what the two parents and relatives leave, and to women belongs a share of what the two parents and relatives leave, whether little or much — 4:7

لِّلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ وَلِلنِّسَآءِ نَصِيبٌۭ مِّمَّا تَرَكَ ٱلْوَٰلِدَانِ وَٱلْأَقْرَبُونَ مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ

but God cursed them for their denial-disowning, and they believe only a little. 4:46

وَلَٰكِن لَّعَنَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

And had We prescribed for them: "Kill yourselves", or: "Leave your dwellings", they would not have done it, except a small number of them. 4:66

وَلَوْ أَنَّا كَتَبْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ أَنِ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ أَوِ ٱخْرُجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِكُم مَّا فَعَلُوهُ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ

Say: "The enjoyment of the present life is little, 4:77

قُلْ مَتَٰعُ ٱلدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٌۭ

And without God's favor upon you and His benevolence, you would certainly have followed the Diverter, except a few. 4:83

وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَٱتَّبَعْتُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

And when they rise for the Contact, they rise lazily, making a show of themselves to people, and remember God only a little, wavering between the two, neither on one side nor the other. 4:143

وَإِذَا قَامُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُوا۟ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مُّذَبْذَبِينَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ لَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَلَآ إِلَىٰ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ

It is for having violated their engagement, denied the signs of God, killed the prophets without right, and said: "Our cores are wrapped up" — no, it is God who sealed their cores for their denial-disowning, so that they believe only a little — and for their denial-disowning, and their imputation against Maryam of an immense slander, and for having said: "We killed Al-Massih, Issa, son of Maryam, the messenger of God", 4:157

فَبِمَا نَقْضِهِم مِّيثَٰقَهُمْ وَكُفْرِهِم بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَتْلِهِمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّۢ وَقَوْلِهِمْ قُلُوبُنَا غُلْفٌۢ بَلْ طَبَعَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا وَبِكُفْرِهِمْ وَقَوْلِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَرْيَمَ بُهْتَٰنًا عَظِيمًۭا وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا ٱلْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ

And you will not cease to discover among them a betrayal, except a small number of them. 5:13

وَلَا تَزَالُ تَطَّلِعُ عَلَىٰ خَآئِنَةٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّنْهُمْ

and do not buy, with My signs, a paltry price. 5:44

وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِى ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا

How little you take heed! 7:3

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

How little you are grateful! 7:10

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

until, laden with heavy clouds, We drive them toward a dead land: We then send down water from it, and We bring forth by it every kind of fruit. 7:57

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًۭا ثِقَالًۭا سُقْنَٰهُ لِبَلَدٍۢ مَّيِّتٍۢ فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ ٱلْمَآءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ

And remember that you were few, and He multiplied you. 7:86

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ كُنتُمْ قَلِيلًۭا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ

And remember when you were few, reduced to weakness on the earth, fearing that people would snatch you away; He then granted you refuge, reinforced you with His help, and provided you with good things as sustenance — perhaps you will be grateful. 8:26

وَٱذْكُرُوٓا۟ إِذْ أَنتُمْ قَلِيلٌۭ مُّسْتَضْعَفُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ تَخَافُونَ أَن يَتَخَطَّفَكُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ فَـَٔاوَىٰكُمْ وَأَيَّدَكُم بِنَصْرِهِۦ وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

When God showed them to you, in your sleep, as few — 8:43

إِذْ يُرِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِى مَنَامِكَ قَلِيلًۭا

And when He showed them to you, when you met, as few in your eyes, and made you appear few in their eyes, so that God might accomplish a matter already decreed. 8:44

وَإِذْ يُرِيكُمُوهُمْ إِذِ ٱلْتَقَيْتُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِكُمْ قَلِيلًۭا وَيُقَلِّلُكُمْ فِىٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ لِيَقْضِىَ ٱللَّهُ أَمْرًۭا كَانَ مَفْعُولًۭا

They sold the signs of God for a small price, and they turned away from His path. 9:9

ٱشْتَرَوْا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًۭا فَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦٓ

The enjoyment of the present life, compared with the last life, is but little. 9:38

فَمَا مَتَٰعُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ

Let them laugh little, then, and weep much, as a reward for what they used to earn. 9:82

فَلْيَضْحَكُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا وَلْيَبْكُوا۟ كَثِيرًۭا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

And only a few had believed with him. 11:40

وَمَآ ءَامَنَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌۭ

Were there not, among the generations before you, possessors of a remnant [of virtue] who forbade corruption on earth, except a few among those We saved? 11:116

فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍۢ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ

and what you have harvested, leave it in its ear, except the little that you eat. 12:47

فَمَا حَصَدتُّمْ فَذَرُوهُ فِى سُنۢبُلِهِۦٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ

Then there will come, after that, seven harsh years, which will consume what you had stored for them, except the little you set aside. 12:48

ثُمَّ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ سَبْعٌۭ شِدَادٌۭ يَأْكُلْنَ مَا قَدَّمْتُمْ لَهُنَّ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مِّمَّا تُحْصِنُونَ

And do not sell God's covenant for a small price: 16:95

وَلَا تَشْتَرُوا۟ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا

A fleeting enjoyment, 16:117

مَتَٰعٌۭ قَلِيلٌۭ

The Day He calls you, you will respond in praise of Him, and you will think you had stayed only a little [while]." 17:52

يَوْمَ يَدْعُوكُمْ فَتَسْتَجِيبُونَ بِحَمْدِهِۦ وَتَظُنُّونَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

He said: "Do You see this one You have honored above me? If You give me respite until the Day of Appearance, I shall surely seize his progeny, except a few." 17:62

قَالَ أَرَءَيْتَكَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كَرَّمْتَ عَلَىَّ لَئِنْ أَخَّرْتَنِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ لَأَحْتَنِكَنَّ ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

And had We not made you firm, you would well nigh have inclined toward them, a little. 17:74

وَلَوْلَآ أَن ثَبَّتْنَٰكَ لَقَدْ كِدتَّ تَرْكَنُ إِلَيْهِمْ شَيْـًۭٔا قَلِيلًا

and then, they would not have remained after you, except a little. 17:76

وَإِذًۭا لَّا يَلْبَثُونَ خِلَٰفَكَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

Say: "The Influx is of my Guardian's affair; and you have been given of knowledge only a little." 17:85

قُلِ ٱلرُّوحُ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّى وَمَآ أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

none knows them, except a few. 18:22

مَّا يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌۭ

If you see me as having less wealth and children than you, it may be that my Guardian will grant me better than your garden, and send upon it, from the sky, a reckoned punishment, so that it becomes a slippery ground, or its water sinks away, so that you will never be able to seek it out. 18:41

إِن تَرَنِ أَنَا۠ أَقَلَّ مِنكَ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًۭا فَعَسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًۭا مِّن جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًۭا زَلَقًا أَوْ يُصْبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوْرًۭا فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ لَهُۥ طَلَبًۭا

He said [God]: A little while yet, and they will surely become full of regret. 23:40

قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍۢ لَّيُصْبِحُنَّ نَٰدِمِينَ

How little you are grateful! 23:78

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

He will say: You remained only a little, if only you knew. 23:114

قَٰلَ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا لَّوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

'These are indeed a small band, and they enrage us, and we are, all together, a vigilant force.' 26:56

إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ

How little you remember! 27:62

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

There are their dwellings, left uninhabited after them, save for a very few — and it is We who were the heirs. 28:58

فَتِلْكَ مَسَٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَن مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثِينَ

We grant them a brief enjoyment, then We will compel them toward a harsh punishment. 31:24

نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًۭا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍۢ

how little you are grateful! 32:9

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

and then you would only enjoy [life] a little." 33:16

وَإِذًۭا لَّا تُمَتَّعُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

God certainly knows those among you who obstruct, and those who say to their brothers, "Come to us," and who come to the fight only a little, being stingy toward you. 33:19

قَدْ يَعْلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُعَوِّقِينَ مِنكُمْ وَٱلْقَآئِلِينَ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا وَلَا يَأْتُونَ ٱلْبَأْسَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ

asking about your news; and were they among you, they would have fought only a little. 33:20

يَسْـَٔلُونَ عَنْ أَنۢبَآئِكُمْ وَلَوْ كَانُوا۟ فِيكُم مَّا قَٰتَلُوٓا۟ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

If the hypocrites, those in whose cores is a sickness, and the rumor-mongers in the Capital do not cease, We will certainly incite you against them; then they will not remain your neighbors there except a little, being cursed. 33:61

لَّئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ وَٱلْمُرْجِفُونَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ لَنُغْرِيَنَّكَ بِهِمْ ثُمَّ لَا يُجَاوِرُونَكَ فِيهَآ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا مَّلْعُونِينَ

but few of My obedient ones are grateful. 34:13

وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنْ عِبَادِىَ ٱلشَّكُورُ

and We replaced their two gardens with two gardens bearing bitter fruit, tamarisk, and a few lote trees. 34:16

وَبَدَّلْنَٰهُم بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ ذَوَاتَىْ أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍۢ وَأَثْلٍۢ وَشَىْءٍۢ مِّن سِدْرٍۢ قَلِيلٍۢ

and how few they are." 38:24

وَقَلِيلٌۭ مَّا هُمْ

Say: "Enjoy your denial a little; you are indeed among the companions of the Fire." 39:8

قُلْ تَمَتَّعْ بِكُفْرِكَ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَٰبِ ٱلنَّارِ

little do you take heed. 40:58

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

We will remove the punishment for a little while, 44:15

إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا

They understood, in fact, only a little. 48:15

بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

They slept but little 51:17

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًۭا

Have you then seen the one who turned away, gave a little, then stopped? 53:34

أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًۭا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ

A multitude from the first [generations] and few from the last, on woven couches, reclining on them, face to face. 56:16

ثُلَّةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَقَلِيلٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّوْضُونَةٍۢ مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ

Little do you give thanks. 67:23

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ

I swear by what you see and what you do not see: this is indeed the word of a noble messenger, and it is not the word of a beguiling rhetorician — little do you believe — nor the word of a soothsayer. 69:42

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍۢ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍۢ

Little do you take heed. 69:42

قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Until, when they see that which they are promised, they will know who is weaker in helpers and less in number. 72:24

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًۭا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًۭا

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. O you who are wrapped up! Stand in prayer the night, except a little — half of it, or subtract from it a little, or add to it — and recite the Recitation with measured, distinct recitation. 73:4

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا

And leave Me with the deniers, those of ease, and allow them respite a little. 73:11

وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا

"Eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are severed." 77:46

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
