• We will certainly try you with some fear, hunger, loss of possessions, persons, and fruits; 2:155

  وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَىْءٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ

• but righteousness is one who believes in God, the Last Day, the Agents, the Scripture, and the prophets, and who gives of his wealth, despite his love for it, to relatives, orphans, the destitute, the stranded traveler, those who ask, and for freeing those under the burden of a debt, who maintains the Contact and gives the purifying alms, 2:177

  وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱلْبِرَّ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ وَءَاتَى ٱلْمَالَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ ذَوِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَٱلسَّآئِلِينَ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَأَقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَى ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ

• And do not devour your wealth among yourselves through falsehood, and do not offer it to judges to devour, knowingly and unjustly, a part of the wealth of the people. 2:188

  وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَتُدْلُوا۟ بِهَآ إِلَى ٱلْحُكَّامِ لِتَأْكُلُوا۟ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنْ أَمْوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

• They said: "How would he have the kingship over us, when we have more right to it than he, and he has not been given abundance of wealth?" 2:247

  قَالُوٓا۟ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِٱلْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلْمَالِ

• The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the way of God is that of a grain which grows seven ears, 2:261

  مَّثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ

• Those who spend their wealth in the way of God, then do not follow what they spent with either reminder or harm, have their reward with their Guardian; no fear upon them, and they will not grieve. 2:262

  ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ لَا يُتْبِعُونَ مَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مَنًّۭا وَلَآ أَذًۭى لَّهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

• O you who have believed! do not annul your alms by reminder [of your benefactions] and harm, like one who spends his wealth for show before people, and believes neither in God nor in the Last Day. 2:264

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُبْطِلُوا۟ صَدَقَٰتِكُم بِٱلْمَنِّ وَٱلْأَذَىٰ كَٱلَّذِى يُنفِقُ مَالَهُۥ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ

• And the likeness of those who spend their wealth, seeking the good pleasure of God and the strengthening of their own Selves, is that of a garden on a height: a torrential rain strikes it, and it gives its yield twofold; and if no torrential rain strikes it, a drizzle [suffices]. 2:265

  وَمَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمُ ٱبْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ وَتَثْبِيتًۭا مِّنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ كَمَثَلِ جَنَّةٍۭ بِرَبْوَةٍ أَصَابَهَا وَابِلٌۭ فَـَٔاتَتْ أُكُلَهَا ضِعْفَيْنِ فَإِن لَّمْ يُصِبْهَا وَابِلٌۭ فَطَلٌّۭ

• Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, in secret and openly, have their reward with their Guardian; no fear upon them, and they will not grieve. 2:274

  ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرًّۭا وَعَلَانِيَةًۭ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

• and if you turn back [to God], the principal of your wealth belongs to you, without your doing wrong or being wronged. 2:279

  وَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَلَكُمْ رُءُوسُ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ لَا تَظْلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظْلَمُونَ

• Those who deny-disown, neither their possessions nor their children will avail them at all against God. 3:10

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًۭٔا

• You will certainly be tried in your possessions and in your Selves, and you will certainly hear, from those to whom the Scripture was given before you, and from those who have associated, much harm. 3:186

  لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوٓا۟ أَذًۭى كَثِيرًۭا

• And give the orphans their possessions, 4:2

  وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ

• and do not devour their possessions with yours: 4:2

  وَلَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِكُمْ

• And do not entrust to the foolish your possessions, which God has made a support for you; 4:5

  وَلَا تُؤْتُوا۟ ٱلسُّفَهَآءَ أَمْوَٰلَكُمُ ٱلَّتِى جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ قِيَٰمًۭا

• And test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if you then discern in them a soundness of judgment, hand over to them their possessions, and do not devour them wastefully and hastily, before they grow up. 4:6

  وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًۭا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًۭا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟

• And when you hand over their possessions to them, take witnesses regarding them. 4:6

  فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ

• Those who devour the possessions of orphans unjustly are only swallowing fire into their bellies, 4:10

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ ظُلْمًا إِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِى بُطُونِهِمْ نَارًۭا

• And made lawful to you are all beyond these categories, whom you seek with your possessions, as men who bind themselves in contract, not in debauchery. 4:24

  وَأُحِلَّ لَكُم مَّا وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَن تَبْتَغُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُم مُّحْصِنِينَ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحِينَ

• O you who have believed! do not devour your wealth among yourselves through falsehood, 4:29

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَأْكُلُوٓا۟ أَمْوَٰلَكُم بَيْنَكُم بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ

• Men bear the executive, protective, and financial charge of the household toward women, by reason of the advantage God has granted some over others, and of what they spend from their possessions. 4:34

  ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَآءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ وَبِمَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ

• And those who spend their wealth for show before people, and believe neither in God nor in the Last Day — 4:38

  وَٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ رِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَلَا بِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ

• Not equal are those of the believers who remain seated, apart from those with disabilities, and those who strive in the way of God with their possessions and their Selves. 4:95

  لَّا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْقَٰعِدُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُو۟لِى ٱلضَّرَرِ وَٱلْمُجَٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ

• God has favored those who strive with their possessions and their Selves, in degree, above those who remain seated. 4:95

  فَضَّلَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُجَٰهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى ٱلْقَٰعِدِينَ دَرَجَةًۭ

• It is for the injustice of those who practice Judaism that We forbade them good things that had been made lawful for them, and for having greatly turned away from the path of God, and for having practiced usury, though they had been forbidden it, and devoured the wealth of people through falsehood. 4:161

  فَبِظُلْمٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ حَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ طَيِّبَٰتٍ أُحِلَّتْ لَهُمْ وَبِصَدِّهِمْ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ كَثِيرًۭا وَأَخْذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَقَدْ نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ

• And do not approach the wealth of the orphan, except in the best way, until he reaches his full maturity; 6:152

  وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ

• And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial, and that with God there is an immense reward. 8:28

  وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌۭ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥٓ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌۭ

• Those who deny-disown spend their wealth so as to turn [others] away from the path of God. 8:36

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

• Those who have believed, emigrated, and striven with their possessions and their Selves in the way of God, and those who gave refuge and helped — those are allies of one another. 8:72

  إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَوا۟ وَّنَصَرُوٓا۟ أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَآءُ بَعْضٍۢ

• Those who have believed, emigrated, and striven in the way of God with their possessions and their Selves have a greater rank with God, 9:20

  ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَهَاجَرُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِندَ ٱللَّهِ

• Say: "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your spouses, your clan, the wealth you have acquired, a trade whose decline you fear, and dwellings that please you, are dearer to you than God, His Messenger, and striving in His way, then wait, until God brings His command." 9:24

  قُلْ إِن كَانَ ءَابَآؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَآؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلٌ ٱقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَٰرَةٌۭ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَٰكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَآ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَجِهَادٍۢ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ فَتَرَبَّصُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ

• O you who have believed! many rabbis and monks devour the wealth of people through falsehood, and turn [others] away from the path of God. 9:34

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ كَثِيرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْأَحْبَارِ وَٱلرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

• Mobilize, light or heavy, and strive with your possessions and your Selves in the way of God. 9:41

  ٱنفِرُوا۟ خِفَافًۭا وَثِقَالًۭا وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

• Those who believe in God and the Last Day do not ask you for permission [to be excused] from striving with their possessions and their Selves. 9:44

  لَا يَسْتَـْٔذِنُكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْءَاخِرِ أَن يُجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ

• Let neither their wealth nor their children impress you then. 9:55

  فَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُمْ

• Like those who preceded you: they were stronger than you in power, richer in wealth and children; they enjoyed their share, and you have enjoyed your share as those before you enjoyed their share, and you have plunged [into futility] as they plunged. 9:69

  كَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنكُمْ قُوَّةًۭ وَأَكْثَرَ أَمْوَٰلًۭا وَأَوْلَٰدًۭا فَٱسْتَمْتَعُوا۟ بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ فَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِخَلَٰقِكُمْ كَمَا ٱسْتَمْتَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُم بِخَلَٰقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَٱلَّذِى خَاضُوٓا۟

• Those who stayed behind rejoiced in their position, apart from the messenger of God, and were averse to striving with their possessions and their Selves in the way of God, and said: 'Do not mobilize in the heat.' 9:81

  فَرِحَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَٰفَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوٓا۟ أَن يُجَٰهِدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَنفِرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَرِّ

• Let neither their wealth nor their children impress you then. 9:85

  وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُهُمْ

• But the messenger, and those who believed with him, strove with their possessions and their Selves, 9:88

  لَٰكِنِ ٱلرَّسُولُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ جَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ

• Take from their wealth an alms that purifies them and makes them grow, and visit them: 9:103

  خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ صَدَقَةًۭ تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِم بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ

• God has bought from the believers their Selves and their possessions, in exchange for the Garden that belongs to them. 9:111

  إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ ٱلْجَنَّةَ

• Moussa said: "Our Guardian, You have given Fir'awn and his court adornment and riches in the present life, 10:88

  وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ ءَاتَيْتَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَأَهُۥ زِينَةًۭ وَأَمْوَٰلًۭا فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا

• Our Guardian, obliterate their riches and harden their cores, so that they do not believe until they see the painful punishment." 10:88

  رَبَّنَا ٱطْمِسْ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَٱشْدُدْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ

• O my people, I do not ask you for any wealth for this: 11:29

  وَيَٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا

• They said: "O Shu'ayb, does your Contact command you that we abandon what our ancestors obeyed, or that we stop doing with our wealth what we wish? 11:87

  قَالُوا۟ يَٰشُعَيْبُ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَآ أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِنَا مَا نَشَٰٓؤُا۟

• Then We gave you back the upper hand over them, and supported you with wealth and children, and made you more numerous in ranks. 17:6

  ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَا لَكُمُ ٱلْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَمْدَدْنَٰكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَجَعَلْنَٰكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيرًا

• Do not approach the orphan's wealth, except in the best manner, until he reaches his full maturity, 17:34

  وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ

• Rouse, by your voice, whomever you can among them; rally against them your cavalry and your infantry; share with them in wealth and children; and make them promises — 17:64

  وَٱسْتَفْزِزْ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتَ مِنْهُم بِصَوْتِكَ وَأَجْلِبْ عَلَيْهِم بِخَيْلِكَ وَرَجِلِكَ وَشَارِكْهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ وَعِدْهُمْ

• He said to his companion, while conversing with him: "I am richer than you in wealth, and stronger in numbers." 18:34

  فَقَالَ لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ وَهُوَ يُحَاوِرُهُۥٓ أَنَا۠ أَكْثَرُ مِنكَ مَالًۭا وَأَعَزُّ نَفَرًۭا

• If you see me as having less wealth and children than you, it may be that my Guardian will grant me better than your garden, and send upon it, from the sky, a reckoned punishment, so that it becomes a slippery ground, or its water sinks away, so that you will never be able to seek it out. 18:41

  إِن تَرَنِ أَنَا۠ أَقَلَّ مِنكَ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًۭا فَعَسَىٰ رَبِّىٓ أَن يُؤْتِيَنِ خَيْرًۭا مِّن جَنَّتِكَ وَيُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهَا حُسْبَانًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتُصْبِحَ صَعِيدًۭا زَلَقًا أَوْ يُصْبِحَ مَآؤُهَا غَوْرًۭا فَلَن تَسْتَطِيعَ لَهُۥ طَلَبًۭا

• Wealth and children are the ornament of the present life; 18:46

  ٱلْمَالُ وَٱلْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا

• Have you seen the one who denied Our signs and said: "I will surely be given wealth and children"? Has he pierced what escapes his presence, or taken a pact with the All-Benevolent? By no means! 19:79

  أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًا أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًۭا كَلَّا

• Do they think that, what We grant them of wealth and children, We hasten toward them with good things? 23:56

  أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالٍۢ وَبَنِينَ نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ

• and give them from the wealth of God which He has given you. 24:33

  وَءَاتُوهُم مِّن مَّالِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ

• and do not disgrace me on the day they are resurrected, the day when neither wealth nor sons will be of use, except to one who comes to God with an intact Core. 26:89

  وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ

• When it came to Sulayman, he said: 'Do you wish to aid me with wealth? What God has given me is better than what He has given you; it is you rather who rejoice in your gift. 27:36

  فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَيْمَٰنَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍۢ فَمَآ ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّآ ءَاتَىٰكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ

• And whatever you give as a loan with guaranteed principal, that you may increase it through the wealth of people, does not increase with God; 30:39

  وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن رِّبًۭا لِّيَرْبُوَا۟ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ

• and He made you inherit their land, their homes, and their wealth, and a land you had not trodden. 33:27

  وَأَوْرَثَكُمْ أَرْضَهُمْ وَدِيَٰرَهُمْ وَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَأَرْضًۭا لَّمْ تَطَـُٔوهَا

• And they said, "We have more wealth and children, and we will not be punished." 34:35

  وَقَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَٰلًۭا وَأَوْلَٰدًۭا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

• And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in closeness — except for one who believed and did righteous deeds: those will have a doubled reward for what they did, and they will be secure in the elevated chambers. 34:37

  وَمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُم بِٱلَّتِى تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَنْ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَآءُ ٱلضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْغُرُفَٰتِ ءَامِنُونَ

• And if you believe and remain mindful, He will give you your rewards and will not ask you for your wealth. 47:36

  وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْـَٔلْكُمْ أَمْوَٰلَكُمْ

• The notables who stayed behind will say to you: "Our possessions and our families kept us occupied; so ask forgiveness for us." 48:11

  سَيَقُولُ لَكَ ٱلْمُخَلَّفُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَآ أَمْوَٰلُنَا وَأَهْلُونَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا

• The believers are only those who have believed in God and His messenger, then have not doubted, and have striven with their possessions and their Selves in the way of God. 49:15

  إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوا۟ وَجَٰهَدُوا۟ بِأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

• And in their wealth there was a due for the one who asks and the one who is deprived [without asking]. 51:19

  وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

• Know that the present life is but play, diversion, adornment, mutual boasting among you, and competition in wealth and children — like the example of a rain whose vegetation delights the sowers, then it dries up, and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes debris. 57:20

  ٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌۭ وَلَهْوٌۭ وَزِينَةٌۭ وَتَفَاخُرٌۢ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌۭ فِى ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَوْلَٰدِ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ ٱلْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصْفَرًّۭا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمًۭا

• Neither their wealth nor their children will avail them anything against God. 58:17

  لَّن تُغْنِىَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَٰلُهُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُهُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا

• This is for the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and possessions, seeking favor from God and His pleasure, and who support God and His messenger. 59:8

  لِلْفُقَرَآءِ ٱلْمُهَٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأَمْوَٰلِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضْوَٰنًۭا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥٓ

• O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? You believe in God and His messenger, and strive in the way of God with your wealth and your persons — that is better for you, if you but knew. He will forgive you your wrongs and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of Eden. 61:12

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَٰرَةٍۢ تُنجِيكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُجَٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَمَسَٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةًۭ فِى جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍۢ

• O you who believe! Let not your wealth or your children distract you from the remembrance of God. 63:9

  يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ

• Your wealth and your children are but a trial, 64:15

  إِنَّمَآ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَأَوْلَٰدُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌۭ

• And do not obey every contemptible swearer of oaths, backbiter, spreader of slander, hinderer of good, transgressor, characterized offender, coarse and, moreover, a social parasite — merely because he has wealth and sons. When Our signs are recited to him, he says: 'Legends of the ancients!' 68:15

  وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍۢ مَّهِينٍ هَمَّازٍۢ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍۢ مَّنَّاعٍۢ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍۢ وَبَنِينَ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

• Would that it had been the final end! My wealth has not availed me, 69:28

  يَٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ

• and those in whose wealth there is a known right for the petitioner and the deprived, 70:25

  وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

• Then I announced to them publicly and confided to them privately, and said: Ask forgiveness of your Guardian; indeed, He is ever a Great Forgiver. He will send rain from the sky upon you in abundance, and provide you with wealth and children, and give you gardens, and give you rivers. 71:12

  ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًۭا فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًۭا

• Nuh said, "My Guardian, indeed they have disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children increased him not except in loss, and they have plotted a great plot, 71:22

  قَالَ نُوحٌۭ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًۭا وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًۭا كُبَّارًۭا

• Leave Me with the one I created alone, and gave him extensive wealth, and children present with him, and spread everything before him, easing his life — then he desires that I should add more. No! 74:16

  ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًۭا وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالًۭا مَّمْدُودًۭا وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًۭا وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًۭا ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ كَلَّآ

• No! But you do not honor the orphan, and you do not urge one another to feed the destitute, and you consume the inheritance with voracious greed, and you love wealth with immense love. 89:21

  بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا كَلَّآ

• Does he think that no one will ever have power over him? He says, "I have squandered vast wealth!" 90:6

  أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌۭ يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًۭا لُّبَدًا

• And his wealth will not avail him when he falls. 92:11

  وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

• And it will be kept away from the most righteous, who gives his wealth to purify himself, 92:18

  وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

• In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Woe to every slandering defamer, who gathers wealth and counts it, thinking that his wealth will make him immortal. No! 104:4

  بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَيْلٌۭ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍۢ لُّمَزَةٍ ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًۭا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخْلَدَهُۥ كَلَّا

• His wealth and what he acquired have availed him nothing. 111:2

  مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
