Those who sell the engagement of God and their oaths for a small price — those are the ones who will have no share in the last life; God will not speak to them, will not look at them on the Day of Appearance, and will not purify them. 3:77

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ ثَمَنًۭا قَلِيلًا أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَا خَلَٰقَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ

Those are the ones whose reward is that upon them will weigh the curse of God, the Agents, and mankind, all together, wherein they will abide eternally; the punishment will not be lightened for them, and they will not be granted a delay — except those who turn back [to God] after that, and reform: God is indeed Most-Forgiving, full of benevolence. 3:89

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌ

so travel through the land, and look how the end of those who denied was. 3:137

فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

You indeed desired death before meeting it; you have now seen it, and you were looking on. 3:143

وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ ٱلْمَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ

And had they said: "We have heard and obeyed", and: "Listen", and: "Look at us", it would have been better for them, and more upright; 4:46

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا وَٱسْمَعْ وَٱنظُرْنَا لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُمْ وَأَقْوَمَ

Look how they invent the lie against God: that suffices as a manifest offense. 4:50

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦٓ إِثْمًۭا مُّبِينًا

Look how We detail the signs to them, then look how they are turned away! 5:75

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُبَيِّنُ لَهُمُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرْ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ

And had We sent down an Agent, the matter would already have been settled, and they would be granted no delay. 6:8

وَلَوْ أَنزَلْنَا مَلَكًۭا لَّقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ ثُمَّ لَا يُنظَرُونَ

Say: "Travel through the land, then look how the end of those who denied was." 6:11

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ ٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Look how they lie against themselves! And what they used to invent will have forsaken them. 6:24

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ

Look how We diversify the signs, and yet they turn away from them. 6:46

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُونَ

Look how We diversify the signs, perhaps they will understand. 6:65

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَفْقَهُونَ

Look at its fruit, when it bears fruit, and its ripening. 6:99

ٱنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ثَمَرِهِۦٓ إِذَآ أَثْمَرَ وَيَنْعِهِۦٓ

Do they await only that the Agents come to them, or that your Guardian come, or that some signs of your Guardian come? 6:158

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ رَبُّكَ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ بَعْضُ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّكَ

Say: "Wait: 6:158

قُلِ ٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟

we are waiting." 6:158

إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

He said: "Grant me a delay, until the day they are resurrected." 7:14

قَالَ أَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

He said: "You are indeed among those granted a delay." 7:15

قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ

Do they await anything but its fulfillment? 7:53

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُۥ

Wait then: I am, with you, among those who wait." 7:71

فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

So look how the end of the severed was. 7:84

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

And look how the end of those who sow corruption was. 7:86

وَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

So look how the end of those who sow corruption was. 7:103

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

He then threw down his staff, and behold, it was a manifest serpent; and he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to those who looked. 7:108

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ

He said: "It may be that your Guardian will destroy your enemy and establish you as successors on the earth, so as to see how you would act." 7:129

قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

And when Moussa came to Our appointed meeting, and his Guardian spoke to him, he said: "My Guardian, show Yourself to me, that I may look at You." 7:143

وَلَمَّا جَآءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَٰتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُۥ رَبُّهُۥ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِىٓ أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ

He said: "You will not see Me, but look at the mountain: if it remains in place, then you will see Me." 7:143

قَالَ لَن تَرَىٰنِى وَلَٰكِنِ ٱنظُرْ إِلَى ٱلْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ ٱسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُۥ فَسَوْفَ تَرَىٰنِى

Have they not looked into the sovereign dominion of the heavens and the earth, and into everything God has created, and [considered] that it may be that their term has already drawn near? 7:185

أَوَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا۟ فِى مَلَكُوتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَىْءٍۢ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ قَدِ ٱقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ

Say: "Invoke your associates, then scheme against me, and grant me no respite. 7:195

قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

and you see them looking at you, without seeing. 7:198

وَتَرَىٰهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ

As when your Guardian brought you out of your dwelling in truth, while a group of believers were averse to it, disputing with you about the truth once it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death, their eyes open. 8:6

كَمَآ أَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَيْتِكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ فَرِيقًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَكَٰرِهُونَ يُجَٰدِلُونَكَ فِى ٱلْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَأَنَّمَا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

And when a sourate is sent down, they look at one another: "Does anyone see you?" Then they slip away. 9:127

وَإِذَا مَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌۭ نَّظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَىٰكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱنصَرَفُوا۟

Then We made you successors on the earth, after them, so as to see how you would act. 10:14

ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَٰكُمْ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لِنَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

So wait: 10:20

فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟

I am, with you, among those who wait." 10:20

إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

So look how the end of the unjust was. 10:39

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

And among them are some who look at you — 10:43

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنظُرُ إِلَيْكَ

then carry it out against me, and grant me no respite." 10:71

ثُمَّ ٱقْضُوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ وَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

So look how the end of those who had been warned turned out. 10:73

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

Say: "Look at what is in the heavens and the earth" — but of what avail are signs and warnings to a people who do not believe? 10:101

قُلِ ٱنظُرُوا۟ مَاذَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا تُغْنِى ٱلْءَايَٰتُ وَٱلنُّذُرُ عَن قَوْمٍۢ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

What then do they await, but the like of the days of those who came before them? 10:102

فَهَلْ يَنتَظِرُونَ إِلَّا مِثْلَ أَيَّامِ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوْا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ

Say: "Wait then, I am, with you, among those who wait." 10:102

قُلْ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُنتَظِرِينَ

so scheme against me all together, and give me no respite. 11:55

فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ

And say to those who do not believe: "Act according to your position; we, [too], act; and wait: we too are waiting." 11:122

وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنَّا عَٰمِلُونَ وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ

Have they not traveled the earth to see what was the end of those before them? 12:109

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ

and then, they would be granted no reprieve. 15:8

وَمَا كَانُوٓا۟ إِذًۭا مُّنظَرِينَ

We have indeed placed in the sky constellations, and adorned them for those who look, and preserved them from every banished Diverter — except one who steals a furtive hearing, and is then pursued by a clear, blazing projectile. 15:18

وَلَقَدْ جَعَلْنَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًۭا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا لِلنَّٰظِرِينَ وَحَفِظْنَٰهَا مِن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ رَّجِيمٍ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱسْتَرَقَ ٱلسَّمْعَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

He said: "My Guardian, grant me then a respite until the day they are raised up." 15:36

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

He said: "You are then among those granted a respite, until the day of the known moment." 15:38

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

Do they then wait only for the Agents to come to them, or for the command of your Guardian to come? 16:33

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ يَأْتِىَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ

So travel the earth and see what was the end of those who denied. 16:36

فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

And when those who were unjust see the punishment, it will neither be lightened for them, nor will they be granted a reprieve. 16:85

وَإِذَا رَءَا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

See how We have favored some over others; 17:21

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ

See how they have multiplied examples against you, and so gone astray: 17:48

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَالَ فَضَلُّوا۟

They said: "Your Guardian knows best how long you have stayed; so send one of you, with this note, to the Capital, and let him see which of its foods is purest, and let him bring you provision from it, and let him act with discretion, 18:19

قَالُوا۟ رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا لَبِثْتُمْ فَٱبْعَثُوٓا۟ أَحَدَكُم بِوَرِقِكُمْ هَٰذِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ فَلْيَنظُرْ أَيُّهَآ أَزْكَىٰ طَعَامًۭا فَلْيَأْتِكُم بِرِزْقٍۢ مِّنْهُ وَلْيَتَلَطَّفْ

And look at your divinity, by which you remained posted: we shall surely burn it, then we shall surely scatter it into the flood, utterly scattered." 20:97

وَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ إِلَٰهِكَ ٱلَّذِى ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًۭا لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ نَسْفًا

It [the Hour] will come to them instead, suddenly, and stun them, so that they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be granted any respite. 21:40

بَلْ تَأْتِيهِم بَغْتَةًۭ فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

Whoever thinks that God will never help him in the present life and the Hereafter, let him extend a link toward the sky, then let him withdraw from it, then let him wait to see whether his scheme removes what enrages him. 22:15

مَن كَانَ يَظُنُّ أَن لَّن يَنصُرَهُ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْءَاخِرَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ بِسَبَبٍ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ثُمَّ لْيَقْطَعْ فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُۥ مَا يَغِيظُ

See how they multiply examples about you: they have thus gone astray and can no longer find a way. 25:9

ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَٰلَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًۭا

He threw down his staff, and behold, it was a clear serpent; and he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to those who looked. 26:33

Thus We have made it penetrate the Cores of the severed; they will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment, which will come to them suddenly, without their perceiving it, and they will say then: 'Will we be granted a delay?' 26:203

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ

So look at what was the end of those who spread corruption. 27:14

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

He said [Sulayman]: 'We shall see whether you have spoken truly, or are among the liars. 27:27

قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَٰذِبِينَ

Go with this letter of mine, cast it to them, then withdraw from them, and see what they send back.' 27:28

ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَٰبِى هَٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ

They said [the queen's court]: 'We are possessors of strength and possessors of formidable might, but the affair is yours to decide; so consider what you command.' 27:33

قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أُو۟لُوا۟ قُوَّةٍۢ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ بَأْسٍۢ شَدِيدٍۢ وَٱلْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَٱنظُرِى مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ

Now, I am going to send them a gift, and see what the envoys bring back.' 27:35

وَإِنِّى مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍۢ فَنَاظِرَةٌۢ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ

He said [Sulayman]: 'Make her Edifice unrecognizable to her; we shall see whether she is guided, or is among those who are not guided.' 27:41

قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ

So look at what was the outcome of their scheme: 27:51

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ

Say: 'Travel the earth, and see what was the end of the severed.' 27:69

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

so see how the outcome of the unjust was. 28:40

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Say: "Travel through the land and see how He initiated creation; 29:20

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ

Have they not traveled through the earth and seen how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than them, and they tilled the earth 30:9

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًۭ وَأَثَارُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ

Say, "Travel through the earth and see what became of those before [you]." 30:42

قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلُ

So look at the trace of God's benevolence: how He gives life to the earth after its death; 30:50

فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِ رَحْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ

Say, "On the day of judgment, faith will no longer benefit those who denied, nor will they be given respite." 32:29

قُلْ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ

So turn away from them, and wait: 32:30

فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَٱنتَظِرْ

they too are waiting. 32:30

إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ

Then, when fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes rolling like one overcome by fainting from death. 33:19

فَإِذَا جَآءَ ٱلْخَوْفُ رَأَيْتَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ تَدُورُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ كَٱلَّذِى يُغْشَىٰ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ

some of them have fulfilled their vow [unto death], and some of them are waiting, 33:23

فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُۥ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ

O you who believe, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given you for a meal, without awaiting its readiness; 33:53

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتَ ٱلنَّبِىِّ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَىٰ طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَٰظِرِينَ إِنَىٰهُ

So do they await anything but the pattern of the former peoples? 35:43

فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Have they not traveled through the land and seen what became of those before them, who were even greater than them in strength? 35:44

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةًۭ

They await nothing but a single cry that will seize them while they are disputing with one another. 36:49

مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ

It will be but a single rumbling blast, and there they are, looking on, 37:19

فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

So see what became of those who were warned — except the purified obedient ones of God. 37:74

فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

He cast a glance at the stars, and said: "I am unwell"; so they turned away from him, departing. 37:90

فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةًۭ فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌۭ فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ

And when he reached the age of walking with him, he said: "O my son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you; consider, then, what you think." 37:102

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ

And these await nothing but a single Cry, with no respite. 38:15

وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍۢ

He said: "My Guardian, grant me a delay until the day they are resurrected." 38:79

قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرْنِىٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

He said: "You are among those granted a delay, until the day of the known time." 38:81

قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنظَرِينَ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْوَقْتِ ٱلْمَعْلُومِ

then it will be blown a second time, and at once they will stand up, looking on. 39:68

ثُمَّ نُفِخَ فِيهِ أُخْرَىٰ فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌۭ يَنظُرُونَ

Have they not traveled through the earth to see how the end was of those before them? 40:21

أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ

Have they not traveled through the earth to see how the end was of those before them? 40:82

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ

looking with a furtive glance, out of humiliation. 42:45

مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِىٍّۢ

So We took vengeance upon them; observe, then, what became of those who denied. 43:25

فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Do they await anything but the Hour, that it should come upon them suddenly, while they perceive it not? 43:66

هَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Neither the sky nor the earth wept over them, and they were granted no reprieve. 44:29

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ

Have they not traveled through the land and seen what was the end of those before them? God destroyed them, 47:10

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ دَمَّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ

Do they await only the Hour, that it come upon them suddenly? Its signs have already come. 47:18

فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ أَن تَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ فَقَدْ جَآءَ أَشْرَاطُهَا

But when a decisive surah is sent down and fighting is mentioned therein, you see those in whose Core is a sickness looking at you with the look of one overcome by death. 47:20

فَإِذَآ أُنزِلَتْ سُورَةٌۭ مُّحْكَمَةٌۭ وَذُكِرَ فِيهَا ٱلْقِتَالُ رَأَيْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ ٱلْمَغْشِىِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْمَوْتِ

Have they not looked at the sky above them: how We built it and adorned it, without a single crack in it? 50:6

أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍۢ

And in the Depleters [Thamud]: when it was said to them, 'Enjoy yourselves for a while,' but they rebelled against the command of their Guardian, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 51:44

وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

Then why, when [the soul] reaches the throat, and you at that moment are looking on, and We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see — then why, if you were not subject to reckoning, do you not bring it back, if you are truthful? 56:87

فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍۢ تَنظُرُونَ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

The Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed: "Wait for us that we may borrow from your light." It will be said: "Go back behind you and seek a light." 57:13

يَوْمَ يَقُولُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱنظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِن نُّورِكُمْ قِيلَ ٱرْجِعُوا۟ وَرَآءَكُمْ فَٱلْتَمِسُوا۟ نُورًۭا

O you who believe, guard yourselves before God, and let every Self consider what it has prepared for tomorrow. 59:18

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلْتَنظُرْ نَفْسٌۭ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ لِغَدٍۢ

Indeed, he thought and calculated. So may he be destroyed, how he calculated! Again, may he be destroyed, how he calculated! Then he considered; then he frowned and scowled; then he turned back and was arrogant, and said, "This is nothing but illusion passed down; this is nothing but the word of a human being." 74:25

إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ ثُمَّ نَظَرَ ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ يُؤْثَرُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ

Some faces, that Day, will be radiant, looking toward their Guardian. 75:23

وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ

Indeed, We have warned you of an imminent punishment — the Day when man will observe what his hands have sent forth, and the one who rejects will say, "Oh, that I were earth!" 78:40

إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا

Then let man look at his food: 80:24

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِۦٓ

Indeed, the righteous will be in delight, on adorned couches, observing; you will recognize in their faces the radiance of delight; they will be given drink from a sealed nectar, whose seal is musk. 83:26

إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍۢ مَّخْتُومٍ خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌۭ

Observing: have the rejecters been rewarded for what they used to do? 83:36

يَنظُرُونَ هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ

So let man observe from what he was created. 86:5

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

Do they not look at the camels, how they were created? And at the sky, how it was raised? And at the mountains, how they were set up? And at the earth, how it was spread out? 88:20

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
