There are indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, in the alternation of night and day, in the ship that sails at sea laden with what benefits mankind, in the water that God sends down from the sky and by which He gives life to the earth after its death, spreading in it every kind of living being, in the diversity of the winds, and in the cloud subjected between the sky and the earth — signs for a people who reason. 2:164

إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلَّتِى تَجْرِى فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن مَّآءٍۢ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍۢ وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ

When Talut set out with the troops, he said: "God is going to try you with a river: whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is of me — except one who draws a scoop with his hand." 2:249

فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوتُ بِٱلْجُنُودِ قَالَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُبْتَلِيكُم بِنَهَرٍۢ فَمَن شَرِبَ مِنْهُ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّى وَمَن لَّمْ يَطْعَمْهُ فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّىٓ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱغْتَرَفَ غُرْفَةًۢ بِيَدِهِۦ

Would one of you like to have a garden of palm trees and vines, beneath which rivers flow, wherein he would have all kinds of fruits, then old age strikes him, while he has a weak offspring, and a whirlwind of fire strikes it, and it burns? 2:266

أَيَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌۭ مِّن نَّخِيلٍۢ وَأَعْنَابٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ وَأَصَابَهُ ٱلْكِبَرُ وَلَهُۥ ذُرِّيَّةٌۭ ضُعَفَآءُ فَأَصَابَهَآ إِعْصَارٌۭ فِيهِ نَارٌۭ فَٱحْتَرَقَتْ

Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, in secret and openly, have their reward with their Guardian; no fear upon them, and they will not grieve. 2:274

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرًّۭا وَعَلَانِيَةًۭ فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

For those who guard themselves, with their Guardian, gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, purified spouses, and a good pleasure from God." 3:15

لِلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَٰجٌۭ مُّطَهَّرَةٌۭ وَرِضْوَٰنٌۭ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ

You make the night penetrate into the day, and You make the day penetrate into the night; You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth the dead from the living; and You provide sustenance to whom You will, without measure." 3:27

تُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍۢ

And a group among the people of the Scripture said: "Believe in what has been revealed to those who have believed, at the start of the day, and deny it at its end, perhaps they will turn back [from their faith]." 3:72

وَقَالَت طَّآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ ءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَجْهَ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ ءَاخِرَهُۥ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Those are the ones whose reward is a forgiveness from their Guardian, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. 3:136

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ جَزَآؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌۭ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

There are indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, signs for the possessors of intelligence, those who remember God, standing, sitting, or lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: 3:191

إِنَّ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّأُو۟لِى ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمًۭا وَقُعُودًۭا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِى خَلْقِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ

Those who have emigrated, been expelled from their dwellings, been persecuted on My way, fought, and been killed, I will certainly cover their evil deeds, and I will certainly admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow" — a reward from God. 3:195

فَٱلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا۟ وَأُخْرِجُوا۟ مِن دِيَٰرِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِى وَقَٰتَلُوا۟ وَقُتِلُوا۟ لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ثَوَابًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ

But those who have guarded themselves toward their Guardian will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, as a welcome from God. 3:198

لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًۭا مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ

And whoever obeys God and His Messenger, He admits him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein he will abide eternally. 4:13

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

And those who have believed and done righteous deeds, We will admit them into gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, forever. 4:57

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَنُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا

If you maintain the Contact, give the purifying alms, believe in My messengers, support them, and make God a beautiful loan, I will certainly cover your evil deeds, and I will certainly admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow. 5:12

لَئِنْ أَقَمْتُمُ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَيْتُمُ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَءَامَنتُم بِرُسُلِى وَعَزَّرْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَقْرَضْتُمُ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا لَّأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

God then rewarded them, for what they said, with gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. 5:85

فَأَثَٰبَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا قَالُوا۟ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

They have gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, forever." 5:119

لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا

and We made the rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their offenses, 6:6

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمْ فَأَهْلَكْنَٰهُم بِذُنُوبِهِمْ

To Him belongs what rests in the night and the day; 6:13

وَلَهُۥ مَا سَكَنَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ

It is He who takes you back to Himself, by night, and knows what you accomplish by day, then He resurrects you in it, so that a fixed term may be fulfilled; 6:60

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا جَرَحْتُم بِٱلنَّهَارِ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُكُمْ فِيهِ لِيُقْضَىٰٓ أَجَلٌۭ مُّسَمًّۭى

And We will have removed from their chests all rancor; rivers will flow beneath them, 7:43

وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِى صُدُورِهِم مِّنْ غِلٍّۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

He covers the day with the night, which pursues it relentlessly; the sun, the moon, and the stars are subjected to His command. 7:54

يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثًۭا وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَٰتٍۭ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ

God has promised the believers, men and women, gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, and good dwellings in the gardens of Eden; 9:72

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةًۭ فِى جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍۢ

God has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. 9:89

أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

He has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally, forever. 9:100

وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى تَحْتَهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا

In the alternation of night and day, and in what God created in the heavens and the earth, there are indeed signs for a people who guard themselves. 10:6

إِنَّ فِى ٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ لَءَايَٰتٍۢ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَتَّقُونَ

Beneath them rivers will flow, in the Gardens of blessing. 10:9

تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and become embellished, and its people think they have mastery over it, Our command comes to it, by night or by day, and We make it a mown field, as if it had not flourished the day before. 10:24

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَخَذَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زُخْرُفَهَا وَٱزَّيَّنَتْ وَظَنَّ أَهْلُهَآ أَنَّهُمْ قَٰدِرُونَ عَلَيْهَآ أَتَىٰهَآ أَمْرُنَا لَيْلًا أَوْ نَهَارًۭا فَجَعَلْنَٰهَا حَصِيدًۭا كَأَن لَّمْ تَغْنَ بِٱلْأَمْسِ

On the day He gathers them, as if they had remained but an hour of the day, they will recognize one another. 10:45

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ كَأَن لَّمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةًۭ مِّنَ ٱلنَّهَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ

Say: "What do you think? If His punishment came upon you by night or by day, what is it the severed would want to hasten? 10:50

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَىٰكُمْ عَذَابُهُۥ بَيَٰتًا أَوْ نَهَارًۭا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

It is He who made for you the night so that you might rest in it, and the day for seeing clearly. 10:67

هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا

And perform the Contact at the two ends of the day, and at close moments of the night: 11:114

وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ

And it is He who spread out the earth, and placed upon it firmly-anchored mountains and rivers; 13:3

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَدَّ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنْهَٰرًۭا

He covers the day with the night. 13:3

يُغْشِى ٱلَّيْلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ

It is equal, among you, whether one keeps his word secret or discloses it, and whether he hides in the night or moves openly by day. 13:10

سَوَآءٌۭ مِّنكُم مَّنْ أَسَرَّ ٱلْقَوْلَ وَمَن جَهَرَ بِهِۦ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍۭ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌۢ بِٱلنَّهَارِ

The example of the Garden promised to those who guard themselves: rivers flow beneath it, its food is constant, as is its shade — 13:35

مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ أُكُلُهَا دَآئِمٌۭ وَظِلُّهَا

And those who believe and do righteous deeds will be admitted into gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will remain, with the permission of their Guardian. 14:23

وَأُدْخِلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ

and He subjected for you the rivers. 14:32

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ

and He subjected for you the night and the day. 14:33

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ

He has subjected for you the night and the day, the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. 16:12

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ وَٱلنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَٰتٌۢ بِأَمْرِهِۦٓ

And He cast upon the earth firmly-anchored mountains, so that it would not shake beneath you, and rivers and paths, so that you might be guided, and landmarks, 16:16

وَأَلْقَىٰ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ رَوَٰسِىَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَأَنْهَٰرًۭا وَسُبُلًۭا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ وَعَلَٰمَٰتٍۢ

The Gardens of Eden, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow; they will have therein what they desire. 16:31

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ يَدْخُلُونَهَا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ

We have made the night and the day two signs; We effaced the sign of the night and made the sign of the day a time of clarity, so that you might seek a favor from your Guardian and know the count of years and reckoning. 17:12

وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ءَايَتَيْنِ فَمَحَوْنَآ ءَايَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَجَعَلْنَآ ءَايَةَ ٱلنَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةًۭ لِّتَبْتَغُوا۟ فَضْلًۭا مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟ عَدَدَ ٱلسِّنِينَ وَٱلْحِسَابَ

If either of them, or both, reach old age with you, do not say to them "ugh!" and do not rebuke them, 17:23

إِمَّا يَبْلُغَنَّ عِندَكَ ٱلْكِبَرَ أَحَدُهُمَآ أَوْ كِلَاهُمَا فَلَا تَقُل لَّهُمَآ أُفٍّۢ وَلَا تَنْهَرْهُمَا

And they said: "We will not believe in you until you make a spring gush forth for us from the earth, or you have a garden of palm trees and vines in which you make rivers gush forth abundantly, or you make the sky fall upon us in pieces as you claim, or you bring God and the Agents before us, or you have a house of ornament, or you ascend to the sky — and we will not believe even in your ascent until you bring down upon us a register we can read." 17:93

وَقَالُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ لَكَ حَتَّىٰ تَفْجُرَ لَنَا مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ يَنۢبُوعًا أَوْ تَكُونَ لَكَ جَنَّةٌۭ مِّن نَّخِيلٍۢ وَعِنَبٍۢ فَتُفَجِّرَ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرَ خِلَٰلَهَا تَفْجِيرًا أَوْ تُسْقِطَ ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَمَا زَعَمْتَ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا أَوْ تَأْتِىَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ قَبِيلًا أَوْ يَكُونَ لَكَ بَيْتٌۭ مِّن زُخْرُفٍ أَوْ تَرْقَىٰ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَن نُّؤْمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتَّىٰ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَٰبًۭا نَّقْرَؤُهُۥ

Those are the ones who will have the Gardens of Eden, beneath which rivers flow; they will be adorned there with bracelets of gold and clothed in green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining on couches. 18:31

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهِمُ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍۢ وَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا خُضْرًۭا مِّن سُندُسٍۢ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ

and We made a river burst forth between them; and he had [other] fruit. 18:34

وَفَجَّرْنَا خِلَٰلَهُمَا نَهَرًۭا وَكَانَ لَهُۥ ثَمَرٌۭ

gardens of Eden, beneath which rivers flow, wherein they remain. 20:76

جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

and glorify Him during some hours of the night, and at the edges of the day, that you may be well-pleased. 20:130

وَمِنْ ءَانَآئِ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ

they glorify Him night and day, never flagging. 21:20

يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ

It is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon — 21:33

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ

Say: 'Who guards you, by night and by day, from the Full of benevolence?' 21:42

قُلْ مَن يَكْلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ

Indeed, God admits those who believe and do righteous deeds into gardens beneath which rivers flow. 22:14

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

Indeed, God admits those who believe and do righteous deeds into gardens beneath which rivers flow; they will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, 22:23

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدْخِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍۢ وَلُؤْلُؤًۭا

That is because God causes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night, and because God is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. 22:61

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌۢ بَصِيرٌۭ

and to Him belongs the alternation of night and day. 23:80

وَلَهُ ٱخْتِلَٰفُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ

God alternates the night and the day. 24:44

يُقَلِّبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ

Blessed is He who, if He willed, would give you better than that: gardens beneath which rivers flow, and He would give you palaces. 25:10

تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِن شَآءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيْرًۭا مِّن ذَٰلِكَ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَيَجْعَل لَّكَ قُصُورًۢا

It is He who made for you the night a garment, sleep a rest, and the day a time of awakening. 25:47

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًۭا

It is He who made the night and the day a succession, for whoever wants to remember or wants to be grateful. 25:62

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةًۭ لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًۭا

Is it not He who made the earth a stable place, placed rivers within it, gave it firmly anchored mountains, and set between the two seas a barrier? 27:61

أَمَّن جَعَلَ ٱلْأَرْضَ قَرَارًۭا وَجَعَلَ خِلَٰلَهَآ أَنْهَٰرًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا

Do they not see that We made the night for them to rest in, and the day for them to see clearly? 27:86

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا

Say: "Have you considered: if God made the day perpetual for you until the Day of Appearance, what god, other than God, would bring you a night in which to rest? 28:72

قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلنَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ مَنْ إِلَٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُم بِلَيْلٍۢ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ

It is out of His benevolence that He made for you the night and the day, so that you might rest and seek of His bounty, and so that you might be thankful. 28:73

وَمِن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

Those who have believed and done what is right — We will surely settle them in lofty chambers of the Garden, beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever; 29:58

وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًۭا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

And among His signs are your sleep by night and by day, and your seeking of His favor; 30:23

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ مَنَامُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱبْتِغَآؤُكُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦٓ

Have you not seen that God makes the night pass into the day, and makes the day pass into the night, and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running to an appointed term, and that God is Aware of what you do? 31:29

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّۭ يَجْرِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍۢ مُّسَمًّۭى وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ

And those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant, "It was rather your scheming, night and day, when you commanded us to conceal God and to set up equals to Him." 34:33

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسْتُضْعِفُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ بَلْ مَكْرُ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَآ أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِٱللَّهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادًۭا

He causes the night to enter into the day, and causes the day to enter into the night, 35:13

يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ

A sign for them: the night, from which We strip away the day, and there they are, plunged into darkness. 36:37

وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ

It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor for the night to outrun the day. 36:40

لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ

He wraps the night around the day, and wraps the day around the night; 39:5

يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيْلِ

But those who were mindful of their Guardian will have high chambers, above which other chambers are built, beneath which rivers flow; 39:20

لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌۭ مِّن فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌۭ مَّبْنِيَّةٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

God is He who made for you the night that you may rest in it, and the day for seeing clearly; 40:61

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا

And among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. 41:37

وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلَّيْلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ

If they are arrogant, then those who are with your Guardian glorify Him night and day, without growing weary. 41:38

فَإِنِ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فَٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُۥ بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْـَٔمُونَ

And Fir'awn called out among his people, saying: "O my people, does not the dominion of Egypt belong to me, and these rivers flowing beneath me? 43:51

وَنَادَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى قَوْمِهِۦ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ أَلَيْسَ لِى مُلْكُ مِصْرَ وَهَٰذِهِ ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِىٓ

And in your creation, and in the creatures He scatters about, are signs for a people who have certainty; and in the alternation of night and day, and what God sends down from the sky as provision, by which He revives the earth after its death, and in the shifting of the winds, are signs for a people who reason. 45:5

وَفِى خَلْقِكُمْ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يُوقِنُونَ وَٱخْتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزْقٍۢ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ ءَايَٰتٌۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْقِلُونَ

To them: "As if, on the day they see what they were promised, they had remained only an hour of the day" — this is an Announcement. 46:35

لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةًۭ مِّن نَّهَارٍۭ بَلَٰغٌۭ

Indeed, God admits those who believe and do righteous deeds into gardens beneath which rivers flow. 47:12

This is the description of the Garden promised to the mindful: therein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk whose taste does not change, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, 47:15

مَّثَلُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ فِيهَآ أَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّن مَّآءٍ غَيْرِ ءَاسِنٍۢ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّن لَّبَنٍۢ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهُۥ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّنْ خَمْرٍۢ لَّذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ وَأَنْهَٰرٌۭ مِّنْ عَسَلٍۢ مُّصَفًّۭى

God is All-Knowing, All-Wise — so that He may admit the believing men and the believing women into gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, and cover their bad deeds; that is, with God, an immense triumph — and so that He may punish the hypocrites, men and women, and those who associate [others with God], men and women, who harbor an evil thought about God. 48:6

وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا لِّيُدْخِلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَكَانَ ذَٰلِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ فَوْزًا عَظِيمًۭا وَيُعَذِّبَ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُنَٰفِقَٰتِ وَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَٱلْمُشْرِكَٰتِ ٱلظَّآنِّينَ بِٱللَّهِ ظَنَّ ٱلسَّوْءِ

And whoever obeys God and His messenger, [God] will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow. 48:17

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

The mindful are indeed in gardens and by a river, in a seat of truth, near a Sovereign, All-Capable. 54:55

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَنَهَرٍۢ فِى مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍۭ

He causes the night to enter into the day and causes the day to enter into the night. 57:6

يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ

Your good tidings today: gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally. 57:12

بُشْرَىٰكُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

These are the ones in whose Cores He has inscribed faith, and whom He has strengthened with an Influx from Him, and whom He will admit into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding there forever. 58:22

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ كَتَبَ فِى قُلُوبِهِمُ ٱلْإِيمَٰنَ وَأَيَّدَهُم بِرُوحٍۢ مِّنْهُ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا

O you who believe! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? You believe in God and His messenger, and strive in the way of God with your wealth and your persons — that is better for you, if you but knew. He will forgive you your wrongs and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of Eden. 61:12

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَٰرَةٍۢ تُنجِيكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍۢ تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُجَٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ وَمَسَٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةًۭ فِى جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍۢ

And whoever believes in God and does righteousness, He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. 64:9

وَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًۭا يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ وَيُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا

And whoever believes in God and does righteous deeds, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide there forever; God has indeed granted him a goodly provision. 65:11

وَمَن يُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًۭا يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا قَدْ أَحْسَنَ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ رِزْقًا

O you who believe! Turn to God in sincere repentance. It may be that your Guardian will efface your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, on the day when God will not disgrace the Prophet nor those who believed with him; their light will run before them and on their right. 66:8

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوْبَةًۭ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَيُدْخِلَكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ يَوْمَ لَا يُخْزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ نُورُهُمْ يَسْعَىٰ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَٰنِهِمْ

He said, "My Guardian, indeed I have called my people night and day, but my call has only increased them in flight. 71:6

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًۭا وَنَهَارًۭا فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًۭا

Then I announced to them publicly and confided to them privately, and said: Ask forgiveness of your Guardian; indeed, He is ever a Great Forgiver. He will send rain from the sky upon you in abundance, and provide you with wealth and children, and give you gardens, and give you rivers. 71:12

ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًۭا فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّٰتٍۢ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَٰرًۭا

Indeed, you have during the day a long occupation. 73:7

إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًۭا طَوِيلًۭا

And God determines the night and the day. 73:20

وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ

Have We not made the earth a resting place, and the mountains as pegs? Have We not created you in pairs, and made your sleep a rest? Have We not made the night a covering, and the day for livelihood? Have We not built above you seven strong [heavens], and placed therein a blazing lamp? And sent down from the pressing clouds abundant water, that We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation, and gardens of thick foliage? 78:16

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًۭا وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا

Indeed, those who believed and did righteous deeds will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow. 85:11

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّٰتٌۭ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By the sun and its morning brightness! By the moon when it follows it! By the day when it displays it! By the night when it covers it! By the sky and what built it! By the earth and what spread it! By a Self, and what proportioned it, then inspired it with its transgression and its righteousness! He has succeeded who purifies it, and he has failed who buries it. 91:10

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا وَنَفْسٍۢ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا

In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. By the night when it envelops! By the day when it shines forth! By what created the male and the female! Your efforts are indeed diverse. 92:4

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

And as for the seeker, do not rebuke him harshly. 93:10

وَأَمَّا ٱلسَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ

Their reward, with their Guardian, is the gardens of Eden beneath which rivers flow, abiding therein forever. 98:8

جَزَآؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّٰتُ عَدْنٍۢ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًۭا
