God wants only, through this, to punish them in the present life, and that their Selves depart while they disown.
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَٰفِرُونَ -

And say: "The truth has come, and falsehood has vanished:
وَقُلْ جَآءَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ ٱلْبَٰطِلُ -

falsehood is indeed bound to vanish."
إِنَّ ٱلْبَٰطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًۭا -
21:18 Sura 21 · We Answered Him Open the verse →
We hurl truth against falsehood instead, so it crushes it, and at once it vanishes.
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِٱلْحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلْبَٰطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌۭ
