Saying Without Doing
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. Whatever is in the heavens and on the earth has glorified God,
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم سبح لله ما في السموت وما في الارضand He is the All-Powerful, the Wise.
وهو العزيز الحكيمO you who have believed! Why do you say what you do not do?
يايها الذين ءامنوا لم تقولون ما لا تفعلونIt is greatly abhorrent to God that you say what you do not do.
كبر مقتا عند الله ان تقولوا ما لا تفعلونIndeed, God loves those who fight in His way in ranks, as if they were a compact structure.
ان الله يحب الذين يقتلون في سبيله صفا كانهم بنين مرصوصAnd when Moussa said to his people: O my people, why do you trouble me, when you know that I am the messenger of God sent to you?
واذ قال موسى لقومه يقوم لم توذونني وقد تعلمون اني رسول الله اليكمSo when they deviated, God caused their cores to deviate.
فلما زاغوا ازاغ الله قلوبهمAnd God does not guide the people of the oversteppers.
والله لا يهدي القوم الفسقينAnd when Issa, son of Maryam, said: O sons of Israel! I am the messenger of God to you, confirming what came before me of the Tawrah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose attribute is: the most worthy of praise.
واذ قال عيسى ابن مريم يبني اسرءيل اني رسول الله اليكم مصدقا لما بين يدى من التورىة ومبشرا برسول ياتي من بعدي اسمه احمدBut when he brought them clear proofs, they said: This is manifest illusion.
فلما جاءهم بالبينت قالوا هذا سحر مبينAnd who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about God while he is being called to true adherence to God?
ومن اظلم ممن افترى على الله الكذب وهو يدعى الى الاسلمAnd God does not guide the wrongdoing people.
والله لا يهدي القوم الظلمينThey want to extinguish the light of God with their mouths, but God perfects His light, however much those who disown detest it.
يريدون ليطفوا نور الله بافوههم والله متم نوره ولو كره الكفرونIt is He who sent His messenger with the guidance and the Law of truth, so as to make it prevail over every [other] law, however much the associators detest it.
هو الذي ارسل رسوله بالهدى ودين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله ولو كره المشركونO you who have believed! Shall I guide you to a trade that will save you from a painful punishment? You believe in God and His messenger, and strive in the way of God with your goods and your Selves — that is better for you, if you but knew. He will forgive you your offenses and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow, and pleasant dwellings in gardens of permanent abode.
يايها الذين ءامنوا هل ادلكم على تجرة تنجيكم من عذاب اليم تومنون بالله ورسوله وتجهدون في سبيل الله بامولكم وانفسكم ذلكم خير لكم ان كنتم تعلمون يغفر لكم ذنوبكم ويدخلكم جنت تجري من تحتها الانهر ومسكن طيبة في جنت عدنThat is the immense triumph.
ذلك الفوز العظيمAnd another thing you love: help from God and a near victory.
واخرى تحبونها نصر من الله وفتح قريبSo give good news to the believers.
وبشر المومنينO you who have believed! Be helpers of God, just as Issa, son of Maryam, said to the disciples: Who are my helpers toward God?
يايها الذين ءامنوا كونوا انصار الله كما قال عيسى ابن مريم للحوارين من انصاري الى اللهThe disciples said: We are the helpers of God.
قال الحواريون نحن انصار اللهSo a group of the sons of Israel believed, and a group disowned.
فامنت طايفة من بني اسرءيل وكفرت طايفةSo We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant.
فايدنا الذين ءامنوا على عدوهم فاصبحوا ظهرين
