Created Anxious, and the Exception
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent. A petitioner asked for a punishment bound to fall upon those who disown — none can prevent it — coming from God, Holder of the Ascending Ways.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم سال سايل بعذاب واقع للكفرين ليس له دافع من الله ذي المعارجThe Agents and the Influx ascend to Him in a Day whose measure is fifty thousand years.
تعرج المليكة والروح اليه في يوم كان مقداره خمسين الف سنةSo be patient, with a beautiful patience.
فاصبر صبرا جميلاThey see it as distant, while We see it as near.
انهم يرونه بعيدا ونرىه قريباThe Day the sky will be like molten metal, and the mountains will be like carded wool, and no warm friend will ask after a warm friend, though they are made to see one another.
يوم تكون السماء كالمهل وتكون الجبال كالعهن ولا يسل حميم حميما يبصرونهمThe severed one would wish to ransom himself from the punishment of that Day with his sons, his consort, his brother, the kin who sheltered him, and everyone on earth, if that would then save him. By no means!
يود المجرم لو يفتدي من عذاب يوميذ ببنيه وصحبته واخيه وفصيلته التي تويه ومن في الارض جميعا ثم ينجيه كلاIt is indeed the blazing Flame, stripping away the scalp, calling him who turned his back and went away, and gathered and locked away.
انها لظى نزاعة للشوى تدعوا من ادبر وتولى وجمع فاوعىIndeed, the human being was created anxious: when evil touches him, he panics; and when good touches him, he withholds it — except those who make contact, constant in their Contact,
ان الانسن خلق هلوعا اذا مسه الشر جزوعا واذا مسه الخير منوعا الا المصلين الذين هم على صلاتهم دايمونand those in whose goods there is a known right for the petitioner and the deprived,
والذين في امولهم حق معلوم للسايل والمحرومand those who affirm the Day of Retribution,
والذين يصدقون بيوم الدينand those who are fearful of the punishment of their Guardian — indeed, the punishment of their Guardian is not that from which one is secure —
والذين هم من عذاب ربهم مشفقون ان عذاب ربهم غير مامونand those who guard their private parts, except with their spouses or those bound by pledge — for then they are indeed not blameworthy;
والذين هم لفروجهم حفظون الا على ازوجهم او ما ملكت ايمنهم فانهم غير ملومينbut whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the ones who cross the limits;
فمن ابتغى وراء ذلك فاوليك هم العادونand those who are watchful over their trusts and their covenant,
والذين هم لامنتهم وعهدهم رعونand those who maintain their testimonies,
والذين هم بشهدتهم قايمونand those who carefully maintain their Contact: those will be in gardens, honored.
والذين هم على صلاتهم يحافظون اوليك في جنت مكرمونSo what is with those who disown, hastening toward you, right and left, in separate groups?
فمال الذين كفروا قبلك مهطعين عن اليمين وعن الشمال عزينDoes every person among them aspire to enter a garden of bliss? By no means!
ايطمع كل امري منهم ان يدخل جنة نعيم كلاIndeed, We have created them from that which they know.
انا خلقنهم مما يعلمونNo! I swear by the Guardian of the risings and the settings that surely We are able to replace them with better than them, and nothing can outrun Us.
فلا اقسم برب المشرق والمغرب انا لقدرون على ان نبدل خيرا منهم وما نحن بمسبوقينSo leave them to plunge and play until they meet their Day which they are promised — the Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if racing toward an erected marker, their eyes humble, humiliation covering them.
فذرهم يخوضوا ويلعبوا حتى يلقوا يومهم الذي يوعدون يوم يخرجون من الاجداث سراعا كانهم الى نصب يوفضون خشعة ابصرهم ترهقهم ذلةThat is the Day which they had been promised.
ذلك اليوم الذي كانوا يوعدون
