Adh-Dhariyat

By those that winnow, winnowing, those that bear a heavy weight, those that glide with ease, those that distribute a command: what you are promised is indeed true, and the Due will surely befall.

والذريت ذروا فالحملت وقرا فالجريت يسرا فالمقسمت امرا انما توعدون لصادق وان الدين لوقع

By the sky of interwoven paths! You are surely in a differing saying: turned away from it is whoever is turned away.

والسماء ذات الحبك انكم لفي قول مختلف يوفك عنه من افك

May the guessers perish, those who are plunged in a gulf, absent-minded!

قتل الخرصون الذين هم في غمرة ساهون

They ask: "When will the Day of the Due be?" — the day they will be tried over the Fire.

يسلون ايان يوم الدين يوم هم على النار يفتنون

This is what you used to seek to hasten."

هذا الذي كنتم به تستعجلون

for they were, before that, among those who do good.

انهم كانوا قبل ذلك محسنين

of the night to slumber,

من اليل ما يهجعون

and, in the last hours of the night, they would implore forgiveness.

وبالاسحار هم يستغفرون

And in their goods there was a right for the one who asks and the one who is deprived.

وفي امولهم حق للسايل والمحروم

And on the earth there are signs for those who have certainty,

وفي الارض ءايت للموقنين

Will you not then see clearly?

افلا تبصرون

And in the sky is your provision,

وفي السماء رزقكم

as well as what you are promised. By the Guardian of the sky and the earth, it is surely the truth, just as it is true that you utter.

وما توعدون فورب السماء والارض انه لحق مثل ما انكم تنطقون

People I do not recognize."

قوم منكرون

He stole away to his household, then brought a fat calf and brought it near them, saying: "Do you not eat?"

فراغ الى اهله فجاء بعجل سمين فقربه اليهم قال الا تاكلون

And they gave him good news of a knowledgeable boy.

وبشروه بغلم عليم

Then his wife came forward crying out, struck her face, and said: "An old, barren woman?!"

فاقبلت امراته في صرة فصكت وجهها وقالت عجوز عقيم

He is indeed the Wise, the All-Knowing."

انه هو الحكيم العليم

He said: "What then is your case, O envoys?"

قال فما خطبكم ايها المرسلون

They said: "We have been sent to a severed people, to send upon them stones of clay, marked with your Guardian for the excessive."

قالوا انا ارسلنا الى قوم مجرمين لنرسل عليهم حجارة من طين مسومة عند ربك للمسرفين

We brought out from it those who believed, but We found in it only one house of those true to God alone; and We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.

فاخرجنا من كان فيها من المومنين فما وجدنا فيها غير بيت من المسلمين وتركنا فيها ءاية للذين يخافون العذاب الاليم

And in Moussa: when We sent him to Fir'awn with manifest authority, he turned his back with his support, and said: "A worker of illusion, or a deranged one."

وفي موسى اذ ارسلنه الى فرعون بسلطن مبين فتولى بركنه وقال سحر او مجنون

So We seized him and his armies, and cast them into the deep, while he was censurable.

فاخذنه وجنوده فنبذنهم في اليم وهو مليم

And in the Aad: when We sent upon them the barren wind, which spared nothing it passed over without reducing it to dust.

وفي عاد اذ ارسلنا عليهم الريح العقيم ما تذر من شىء اتت عليه الا جعلته كالرميم

And in the Thamud: when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time," but they insolently defied the command of their Guardian, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.

وفي ثمود اذ قيل لهم تمتعوا حتى حين فعتوا عن امر ربهم فاخذتهم الصعقة وهم ينظرون

They could neither rise up nor find help.

فما استطعوا من قيام وما كانوا منتصرين

for they were a people of oversteppers.

انهم كانوا قوما فسقين

and We are surely the ones who expand.

وانا لموسعون

what excellent arrangers!

فنعم المهدون

And of every thing, We created a pair, perhaps you will remember.

ومن كل شىء خلقنا زوجين لعلكم تذكرون

So flee to God: I am indeed to you, from Him, a clear warner.

ففروا الى الله اني لكم منه نذير مبين

And do not place, alongside God, another deity, for I am to you, from Him, a clear warner.

ولا تجعلوا مع الله الها ءاخر اني لكم منه نذير مبين

no messenger came to those before them without their saying: "A worker of illusion, or a deranged one."

ما اتى الذين من قبلهم من رسول الا قالوا ساحر او مجنون

They are rather a people who exceed all measure.

بل هم قوم طاغون

for the reminder benefits the believers.

فان الذكرى تنفع المومنين

I created the Occulted and humans only so that they obey Me.

وما خلقت الجن والانس الا ليعبدون

I do not want any provision from them, nor do I want them to feed Me.

ما اريد منهم من رزق وما اريد ان يطعمون

God is the Provider, the Possessor of strength, the Unshakeable.

ان الله هو الرزاق ذو القوة المتين

Those who did wrong will indeed have their lot, like the lot of their companions: so let them not ask Me to hasten it.

فان للذين ظلموا ذنوبا مثل ذنوب اصحبهم فلا يستعجلون

So woe to those who disown, because of their day which is promised to them.

فويل للذين كفروا من يومهم الذي يوعدون
