Al-Mursalat
Those Sent Forth
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of God, the All-Benevolent, the Benevolent.
By those sent forth in succession, and those scattering violently, and those deploying far and wide, and those separating distinctly, and those addressing a reminder, as justification or as warning: what you are promised will surely befall.
والمرسلت عرفا فالعصفت عصفا والنشرت نشرا فالفرقت فرقا فالملقيت ذكرا عذرا او نذرا انما توعدون لوقع
So when the stars are obliterated, and when the sky is cracked open, and when the mountains are blasted away, and when the messengers' time is set — for what Day were they adjourned? For the Day of Separation.
فاذا النجوم طمست واذا السماء فرجت واذا الجبال نسفت واذا الرسل اقتت لاى يوم اجلت ليوم الفصل
And what will give you an idea of what the Day of Separation is?
وما ادرىك ما يوم الفصل
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
Did We not annihilate the former peoples?
الم نهلك الاولين
Then We will make the later ones follow them.
ثم نتبعهم الءاخرين
Thus do We deal with the severed.
كذلك نفعل بالمجرمين
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
Did We not create you from a despised water? Then We placed it in a secure and stable place, until a known measure; We determined —
الم نخلقكم من ماء مهين فجعلنه في قرار مكين الى قدر معلوم فقدرنا
and excellent are We at determining!
فنعم القدرون
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
Have We not made the earth a receptacle for the living and the dead? And placed therein firm and lofty anchors, and given you fresh water to drink?
الم نجعل الارض كفاتا احياء واموتا وجعلنا فيها روسي شمخت واسقينكم ماء فراتا
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
"Depart to that which you used to deny! Depart to a shadow of three branches, neither shading nor availing against the flame."
انطلقوا الى ما كنتم به تكذبون انطلقوا الى ظل ذي ثلث شعب لا ظليل ولا يغني من اللهب
It throws up sparks as huge as palaces, as though they were yellow camels.
انها ترمي بشرر كالقصر كانه جملت صفر
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
This is the Day they will utter nothing, nor will they be given permission to make excuses.
هذا يوم لا ينطقون ولا يوذن لهم فيعتذرون
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
This is the Day of Separation; We have brought together you and the former peoples. So if you have a scheme, then scheme against Me!
هذا يوم الفصل جمعنكم والاولين فان كان لكم كيد فكيدون
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
Indeed, those who guarded themselves will be amid shades and springs, and savoury fruits of whatever they desire:
ان المتقين في ظلل وعيون وفوكه مما يشتهون
"Eat and drink
كلوا واشربوا
pleasantly, for what you used to do."
هنيا بما كنتم تعملون
Thus do We recompense those who do good.
انا كذلك نجزي المحسنين
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
"Eat and enjoy yourselves a little, for you are severed."
كلوا وتمتعوا قليلا انكم مجرمون
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
And when it is said to them, "Kneel," they do not kneel.
واذا قيل لهم اركعوا لا يركعون
Woe, that Day, to the deniers!
ويل يوميذ للمكذبين
In what discourse, after this one, will they then believe?
فباى حديث بعده يومنون
